  1. Enjoying this thread... As for BBQ sauces, for pork I have found mixing some apple cider vinegar into a Memphis style sauce (I use Sticky Fingers) works very well on pulled pork and ribs. For beef, I go with Bulls Eye Texas style sauce. It's peppery with a little heat, and goes well with chicken too.
  2. I totally agree with this, and it's also why I believe Rock is dead. They have sanitized it. They've sanitized the music industry, and now they're sanitizing its history with movies like this. That said, I did enjoy Bohemian Rhapsody. It was chronologically incorrect - Freddy probably wasn't even aware he had HIV when they signed on to do Live Aid - and I thought they wasted the last half hour recreating the entire Live Aid performance instead of giving Queen fans more insight into the 80's era and the music they were making at the dawn of the video age. But I liked how they told the story of his relationship with Mary. And I liked the performances. The guy playing Brian May looked just like him!
  3. I was a weeping mess watching that movie. If you could remember he's not a real boy, I guess it would be a lot less sad, but you always feel like he is a real boy. As good as it is, I don't think I could go through the agony of watching it ever again.
  4. Re: The Cloverfield Paradox - I felt the plot device used to tie together all the Cloverfield movies was a bit lazy. It opens the door (no pun intended) to make any kind of movie they want asd say "oh it's Cloverfield, just in a different dimension/time/reality." As for the movie itself, it's okay. A fair science fiction story done by okay actors who seemed to think they had signed on to make an Alien sequel. A couple nice twists thrown in to keep things interesting.
  5. Blade Runner 2049. A cinematic masterpiece. Looked great. Sounded great. But I think the line between who is a human and who is a replicant is so much more blurred and ambiguous than even in the original. Makes it tough to follow at times, even though it is this confusion that is really the foundation of the film. It's a science fiction film that is so heavy on the "what if?" question that all good SF likes to toy with that it will probably not resonate with the Star Wars type of SF fan.
  6. Anyone have any weird aversions to certain mixed flavors? For instance, I'm not a fan of garlic flavor on pork. And I don't mix seafood and cheese. Ever.
  7. Watched American Made last week. God, but not great. The new version of IT. A lot different from the original, but pretty good, except for an upsettingly gruesome scene involving a young boy. Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Welp, at least it wasn't as bad as The Phantom Menace.
  8. This may be more to do with equipment than uniforms, but I was watching the D. Manley Football Life and it seems like the players looked bigger in the team's '80s heyday than they do now. I know most players are bigger physically now, so why did they look bigger back then? I'm thinking the shoulder pads may have been bigger then, and many of the Skins players wore the wider sleeves, rather than the really tight ones they have now. As for the pants, the burgundy with the wide gold and white stripes seems to give the impression their legs were bigger somehow. Any thoughts on this, guys?
  9. I couldn't care less if you hate my comment. I'm as entitled to my opinion as you are to your's. I just happen to prefer the burgundy pants with the white shirts, which, as you may recall, we wore for all three Superbowl titles.
  10. Ugh.. They've got the Ronald McDonald uniforms on tonight. I really hope they don't wear these a lot during the regular season. And what's with the stripe around the neck? It looks like a shirt collar at a quick glance.
  11. Is it just me, or is ESPN.com's Matt Moseley just a Cowboys fan who uses his blog to bash the Redskins at every turn? I swear, he has been leading a smear campaign against Albert Haynesworth since the off-season started. He brings up Albert in articles where he's not even talking about a Redskins topic.
  12. Great thread everyone!!!!!! Thanx for the laughs!!!!
