  1. Almost complete agreement from me on this list aside from Jordan Davis (lack of snaps, great rotation, concern about him playing lots of snaps); Devin Lloyd (don’t see him as a pure scheme fit as our Mike); Kenyon Green (no guards) I’m crossing my fingers for Kyle Hamilton, who would be BPA and who will immediately contribute in one of our 3 safety spots or Derek Stingley. Basically, sub #2 and #4 for Stingley and Sauce or try and trade down. I would also be ok with pass rusher or OT.
  2. Cam Simms also a FA. We have to draft a WR this year at some point or sign a FA.
  3. https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/3408862/dont-overthink-the-nfl-draft-derek-stingley-jr.-edition “I want to know why a guy with the highest level of play on tape is being knocked because he did it as a Freshman, got banged up as a Sophomore during the fake COVID year of college football, and then sorta coasted during his junior year so he didn’t tear something major and truly **** up his draft stock. Especially since one of the knocks against Stingley in the first place is health. A football player might get hurt, can you believe it?”
  4. Very true. I like Chase, just goes to the thought process. And he’s being paid like a top Center, which he deserves.
  5. I think of it another way though. Rouiller is coming of injury, and he’s pretty expensive if you look at his salary compared to a rookie. And if you think Linderbaum becomes the next Kelce, you end up cutting Rouiller in 2023, saving you money. It’s not about making the best team for 2022 for me it’s about setting yourself up for 2023 and beyond. You need elite players on good contracts, as many as possible. And if you also happen to find a QB, you win big. QB is really the only position where BPA goes out the window because it’s so important compared to any other position.
  6. 100%. If we can manage to make him look at least average we have a seriously valuable commodity. The QB market is insane, which is why we need to draft our own and develop them into our starter or trade bait. What other position will slightly above average performance get so much of a return and cost so much to get? QB needs to be drafted constantly to take advantage of the market.
  7. I like the idea of a trade down and if the QBs don’t go early (buzz that Malik Willis is going top 10), I could see Pittsburgh trading up. They have dog **** at QB and unless they end up with Garrapolo, they need to draft a QB. I just don’t get the Devin Lloyd love. At 20, at least the value makes sense. People are talking about him at 11, and it’s insane to me. I don’t think he’s a true MLB, and he’s much more like Davis than the defensive signal caller, alpha, Keuchly type that would warrant that high of a pick. I think his pass rush and blitzing skills are excellent, but I don’t like the positional value there or his fit on the team. BPA there if QBs are gone (or the one we like is gone) would probably be a OT which is a low-key need. Our starter is average (which is fine, it’s hard to find average LTs) and will likely be way overpaid based on his production when he starts to decline, which could come quickly. Penning or Cross could be good options to get in the mix and compete with both Cosmi and Leno. If not OT, Linderbaum could also be BPA there. We have a above average starting center, but he’s coming off injury, and Linderbaum is being touted as an elite prospect. Trust our coaches to find the best place for our guys to play. CB is always a need, and our team has overpaid and underperforming starters. An upgrade there would make sense and also could be BPA. WR as BPA would also be in play, though I’d prefer to address that later. Pass rusher or DT also a possibility, some elite player like Thib could fall and make it too hard to pass, even though it’s very obviously not a position of weakness. Honestly, I’d like pretty much any position over interior ILB in the first round.
  8. If one of the LTs is the guy there at 11 (two QBs go top 10), would you pull the trigger? For example, a choice between Lloyd, London, and Charles Cross?
  9. Sure, Seattle would have turned down a better deal so they wouldn’t have to play Russell- what, like once a year? In NFC West, maybe. More plausible is they wanted a QB and didn’t like our guys.
  10. Well a fetish can also be criminal. IE if your fetish is exposing yourself to people without their consent, that’s a crime. Making people touch you is a crime, etc. from what I’ve read his conduct certainly falls in line with criminal acts in most states. Not sure if he will be charged- I don’t know if there is enough evidence. But the preponderance of evidence that’s out there (20 plus witnesses alleging similar acts) suggests to me he’s a ****ing creep that I don’t want on the team.
  11. Russell Wilson. The Seahawks don’t want to trade him but he’s not happy there and we can make them an offer they can’t refuse that helps them rebuild. Two firsts would be my initial offer and I’d go as high as adding a second, Daron Payne, or possibly another player. Take a look at teams that need a QB and tell me why they are a better opportunity than us? New Orleans without Sean Payton? Denver (should be after Rodgers)? Giants?
  12. I think he’s more than good, I think he’s an elite blocker right now. His development is really exciting because he performed well across the board. He’s never going to be a move TE weapon on the pass game but he can absolutely pick up big chunks of yards and his hands are phenomenal. We definitely should look for a vet receiving TE to play while Logan heals.
  13. Whether he’s trolling or just has an absolutely ludicrous opinion he needs to go away, it’s completely hijacking this thread. I think my favorite option is trading a first and a player for Wilson. At least that makes the team fun to watch. If they feel really strongly about a QB in this draft that’s fine but I don’t really see it.
  14. No one wants to hear this but it’s largely true. The oline is pretty solid and you neglected to mention Gibson who is above average now and borderline elite. Defense needs a ton of help, which is disturbing because we have tons of assets invested there. We need more offensive weapons also. We need a stellar draft and FA to get to 9-10 wins or Rivera and the “GM(s)”will get fired IMO. Our owner is not patient and 3 years is plenty of time to show real progress.
  15. I’d probably offer Scherrf top 10 guard money but nothing crazy. Certainly nothing like we paid on the FT, which was always a dumb, short sighted decision. https://overthecap.com/position/right-guard/
  16. Rivera has said in multiple press conferences that some players need to stop trying to make splash plays and just do their job. It’s painfully obvious it was about these two. Not sure what it means moving forward.
  17. Glad I’m not the only one who thinks he legit looks like an Ewok!
  18. Rumor is we are sniffing around Bendarik McKinney at LB
  19. Glad to see we got pretty much everyone we cut back on the PS. I think we have strong depth on defense and (potentially) a better offense. How much better from one of the worst in the league last year? Unclear. On paper, we are more explosive. But it’s disturbing that CS has been hurt for months and I have no idea what we can expect from him. Ultimately, I’m hoping the offense can be average and with a strong D we are a fun team to watch. QB is a weakness and will need to be addressed with an upgrade or draft pick next year for any chance of sustained success.
  20. Yup. Selfish and immature people can have success; the problem is what happens when they achieve that success (or experience adversity). He will make some wow plays but will flame out, hopefully he brings the Cowboys down with him.
  21. Difference is Collins had a serious injury, gets paid way more, and has another player already on the roster who has outplayed him at his position. I get that the Dolphins drafted a FS, but I think they are taking a risk.
  22. Apke is a goner. Can’t play SS, sucks at FS, previous regime. Everett is a special teams ace, culture guy, and can play FS and SS. He played pretty well before his injury last year. I don’t think he’s going anywhere this year, but it’s possible if Forrest lights it up he takes his job. More likely next year IMO.
  23. Would you agree that Davis would not have lasted to our pick in the second? I think there was plenty of buzz that teams liked him in the first. I recall either Rivera and the Marty’s talking about how there are always discussions in trade-ups and trade downs but the value has to be there. I think it may have been a reach by a handful of picks but that isn’t poor allocation of resources when our need at ILB was so great. And it was a poor ILB class. I take it you had the RBs graded higher, and maybe Farley or Newsome, but the CBs both had injury history/serious injury concerns. Darrisaw also just had surgery and I read some teams were turned off by him in the interview. As for RB, we will see how dynamic those picks end up being, and how productive those RBs are for their teams over the next 3-5 years. I will say, I see Jamin Davis as more of a double than a home run pick. I don’t think he will bust, but I’m not sure he will be in the same class as previous Rivera LBs. I think need and culture/character played an outsized role in the pick.
