  1. I'd rather trade for Stafford than sign Cam. If you get Stafford via trade, you have cap hit < $30M for him for the next two seasons because the Lions will have to eat the remainder of his signing bonus
  2. If Wright can develop into the #2 WR of the future, that would be fantastic outcome. He is 6-2 220. He wasn't really tested much this game as a route runner but I wonder if he can separate
  3. How about just swap Darnold for Haskins? Maybe a change of scenery could do each of them better
  4. If edges continue to get hurt, we could get as high as a 3rd from a team that sees him as the missing piece. Likely looking at a 4th
  5. What I loved about Jaylon Johnson coming out of the draft was his competitiveness and intelligence (which you need for the CB position). I was calling for him to be a late first If you can take care of LT and another position or two in FA, I wonder if you trade back a bit to get another Day 2 pick or two. Still a lot of holes on the team and if you can get 2 or 3 more Day 1 starters and another contributor, you are in decent shape next year
  6. If Stanley is not franchised, I would make him the highest paid LT in the league. If you don't get him, Dawkins from Buffalo is the other young guy you get. Other realistic options include Okung (he is old though) and Cam Robinson (who has been up and down due to injury). In addition to the list, I bet Reiff gets released this offseason so he'd be an average stopgap to fill the role.
  7. look at my post from last week. At least 8 starting LTs are set to hit FA
  8. if you want to pay big bucks for a guard, why would you rather not have Joe Thuney? He stays healthy
  9. You've gotta feed him like the Saints fed Michael Thomas last year
  10. I think Scherff's time on this team has come to an end. It's just more money to invest in a new left tackle. As I pointed out, this FA class is exceptionally deep with options at the position
  11. Too bad he’s not playing for Kyle. My guess is being a guard in a ZBS would fit him better than our scheme would
  12. Was he though? He started fighting MMA in the 90s as a teen. It’s not like he transitioned to it like Cro Cop did I’m really hoping Reem can retire with the title. He and Shogun are the last Pride OGs left (sorry I don’t count Mousasi)
  13. @KDawg Do you think Christian is one of those guys who could be a solid guard if he moved inside? I have doubts on that myself because he came into the league with below average strength
  14. This is the rare offseason that you are going to see a lot of elite tackles hit free agency in a market where a lot of teams will be the constrained by the cap. Ronnie Stanley, Dion Dawkins, David Bakhtiari, Russell Okung, Taylor Decker, Cam Robinson, Alejandro Villanueva and Trent Williams are 9 left tackle starters for their teams. Granted the last guy won't sign with us, but the answer is to go get one of these guys. If you have to pay top of the market to get Stanley or Dawkins (and neither, for some reason, gets franchised), go get them. I don't think Bakhtiari hits the market. Decker is a solid option. Villanueva is past his prime but can still be effective. Robinson is a guy to watch this year as he's been up and down. Okung is your likeliest option for this team but he is injury prone
  15. Anyone else here do jiu jitsu? I miss my Saturday morning classes and Sunday open mats where I’d roll for the better part of an hour. Nothing will give you as big a pump after!
  16. I wonder if Wes Schweitzer takes over. He played 6 snaps lastt week. If Charles can come in and be average at LT, you may have something functional on the left side
  17. See below on Del Rio. This is from the upcoming book on Elway. Great to know Del Rio is a loyal guy who will stand up for his coach
  18. The good news, per that article, is that Snyder is going to continue to screw himself over. As Ryan Holiday says, “ego is the enemy”
  19. How can you not go with Buck? Excellent play by play man with football experience. He must also be the one guy in DC sports media that no one dislikes
  20. He was probably average to below average. He did draft Cooley in the 3rd, trade Coles for Moss (although Portis initiated this), draft ST over Winslow (Portis too) and sign Marcus Washington, Cornelius Griffin and Shawn Springs as FAs.
  21. I just want to remind everyone that, if someone were to buy the team, they wouldn't need to pay the full purchase price upfront through their pocket. They would be able to do a leveraged buyout where they put up 20% to 40% of the purchase price upfront and borrow the rest, effectively paying down the debt with cash flows from the team. Remember Snyder did this exact same thing in 99 when he bought the team. With that in mind, I definitely don't want an owner who does not have the independent wealth to buy the team upfront. For every Rooney, you end up with a Bidwill. Would rather have a guy with unlimited budget like Bezos who can revamp the team's facilities out of his own pocket and implement a world class tech system.
