How Can I Make $3,000 - $5,000 (almost) Overnight?

Recommended Posts

First of all sympathies, this is half the reason that I really wanted health care reform (albeit not the one that we got).

What I would do is really think about your junk. Do you have any junk that might possibly be collectable or a useful antique? Stuff, that you can either auction off, ebay off, pawn shop off? Do you have an expertise that can be consulted out? Although, that would probably like too much time to set up if you need the money NOW. The other thing I would do is drive down to these guys who you owe the money to. Face to face is always better than the phone and appeal to them. Lay out the story, show your history of being a good and trustworthy client and ask for them to work with you. You might get lucky and in my experience in person, most people tend not to be cold hearted ****s.

This. This. This. This. But I want to elaborate a bit further.

I came back from being abroad and at times I literally was ****ing broke living on the streets in countries where I didn't know the language and credit card wasn't even an option. A week on the street taught me a few valuable things - 1. all that **** you stuff your house with that you think is important? It isn't. Sell it, you don't need it. 2. The important things in life are your health, your ability to work (I'm talking about your situation right now, but working keeps the money coming in so in this case work is very important), your ability to work, food, and shelter.

If you have a TV sell it, you still have a computer and if you're dying to watch sports I know some very good streaming sites that are great (not some justin.tv bull****) There are a lot of things you can cut out and mitigate costs to save money which can be as good as making money in a lot of cases.

For example, a lot of people only buy Crest Toothpaste, well that **** compared to the most generic brand is kind of expensive, go for all the cheap **** and your costs will go down. Cut out any personal activities (if you go out to the bar or anything, or out to eat, this costs more money then staying in and cooking for yourself)....

Charge your debt to a credit card (it's not a staggering amount) sell the things you can, pay off your debt on the card with it, and by cutting expenses down (unless you already live a spartan existence) you'll have more money available to you to pay off your debt.

Really the important thing to think about is...... Is X thing I'm about to purchase really going to improve my happiness? A week from now will I be substantially more happy than if I didn't have it?

I asked myself those questions and I realized that the answer to just about everything was no (sometimes you make exceptions) but for me, my CC debt was going up by 500 a month and I was able to cut it down to 80 a month.

note** I wasn't employed while my debt was going up, student and being abroad for 10 months, I assume you're employed so if you can find things to cut even just temporarily it'll do a lot for you over the next month. One thing I suggest is if you have a smartphone, try and take the data plan off to save money

good luck man

If it's a choice between satisfying your most basic needs or not satisfying your basic needs, not completely knowing your situation, and without going into too much detail, you could definitely sell drugs. Prescription drugs have a huge profit margin. It's super illegal and super risky, but if it's a matter of keeping a roof over your head and food in your stomach, there's worse ways to pick up a quick buck.

Vote Libertarian :)

Pretty cool story.

I still say Calif goes to Vegas, its what 200 miles from San Berdu? Take it to the Strat and find a roulette table, chose the ones near the elevator. Buy 50 dollars worth of chips, pick the yellow ones or the brown ones if the yellow are taken. Proceed to make minimum bets splitting your chips between your two favorite numbers. Once you have your wad up to just less than 1g think about splitting, the Strat is watching.

Take your 1g to another casino off the strip and proceed to make sports bets all weekend, feel free to come back on this thread and ask for advice, there are a few MLB games over the weekend as well as the NHL and NBA games. I like the Lakers to cover and Philly to take a thumping.

Thanks for all these suggestions, everyone ...Some of them I hadn't thought about (such as selling invoices to a 2nd party, etc...). The client owes me $5,000 for travel expenses alone ...unfortunately they're a start-up company and sometimes you take a chance with them, especially in this economic climate.

And I don't think I could have sex with 10 fat women in 2 days lol :paranoid:...

How bout men?? they tend to pay better!! :silly:

If your credit is ok, you should be able to get a 4g unsecured loan, as a few have mentioned.

Good luck, and hope all works out. Been there, and it's not fun.

Side jobs my man, side jobs.

Can you paint?

Can you mow grass?

What about random odds and ends type for your family?

Painting can bring in a decent amount of money fairly quickly. Talk to people you know and find out if they need odds and ends work done, if they do, offer to do it, at a reasonable price. Painting a room should only take a day, charge 500 per room(depending on its size) not including supplies and wallah, you got it easily.

Borrowing from friends is never a good idea.

$500 per room? Are you nuts? That had better be a HUGE room if you're gonna charge that. And if you're any good at painting, it shouldn't take a day to paint a room. Unless its red or something, where you need several coats.

Ask McD5 what teams he would bet on and then put everything you have on the opposite. I swear you will have a 98.5% chance of winning every time. I retired in just 43 days doing this and now Im sipping pina coladas in the Bahamas and wipe my behind with hundred dollar bills. McD5 is the best guy in the whole world. In fact I didnt think of it till now but I found a way to save the world. During election time ask McD5 who and what he is voting for and vote the opposite.

I can't believe some of things I am hearing. When you are in trouble, you need help, not lame jokes!

Instead of trying to make money. Please go to social services for food stamps, electric bill and rent/mortgage help. This looks like one of your best options. Some churches in the city usually give away food. You can find this info online.

Most rooms take at least two coats. Price is contingent upon area. You live in NC. You need to paint like a pro to charge this much, though.

So, I take it you have a beef with McD5?

^^^^ No beef at all. I dont ever have drama with anyone. If you ever read "Spanking the Bookie" thread you would understand. He seriously loses 98.5% of the time. Betting against him is a good way to make a living :)

Call your bank, ask for payment deferrals.

They usually give 1 payment deferrals per yea for hardship....(Credit Card, Loans Etc)

If possible get a deferrals for your house/home as well.

Sell anything in your house that is worth something...Craiglist.

Any collectibles??
