G.A.C.O.L.B.
Talk about a blast from the past. He's got the size for the zone blocking scheme though (6'5" 300 lbs.)
authentic
a 35 year old guard? Not sure if this is a good idea. But of course the coaches know better than I.

Koolblue13
If he can play and isn't injury prone, I don't care how old he is. Sign him up. Exactly. I think this would be a good move for us as he would be a sure fire starter and producer at RT and could play OT if needed.
RWJ
Pashos is younger and better, IMO. Pashos's status of signing doesn't look good so maybe this is their Plan C. Plan A=Clifton, Plan B=Pashos & Plan C=Simms. Who knows. Allen/Shanny are totally different in their approach than bugeyes was.

However, Pashos would be a solid signing. Perhaps a veteran like Pashos would push Heyer into lifting some more weights and improving his footwork. RWJ
Wiegmann is out. Didn't want to open another thread on it. RT @Russellmania09: One last #Redskins #NFL Free Agency note for now, Casey Wiegmann & #Redskins have officially moved on.

Koolblue13
I figured resigning Rabach would make that happen. Too bad too, he is pretty good.
ADF
The OL is going to be a work in progress. It has been neglected for far too long. The replacements should have been drafted long ago. We'll be rebuilding it over the next few years. While they develop, we are going to need vets to ease the transition.
Rexrode21
LT - Levi LG - Dockery C - Rabach RG - BMW/Sims RT - Pashos It's not an awful line, with the right side being the only real improvements. I'd still love to get Okung or trade down and get Campbell/Bulaga... but I like that we're at least looking to address our issues on the OL. MumboSauce
These apparent inquiries/moves aren't for the long term folks, these are stop gaps until draftees are developed and younger guys get better. Don't sweat it. Mix in Bulaga or Okung, etc. and some other pick later in the draft and the turnover will happen slowly as a line is developed and not purchased. morpheusmeyers
LT - LeviLG - Dockery C - Rabach RG - BMW/Sims RT - Pashos Add a couple of draft picks to the equation and we might have a functional line in 2010.

Levi Jones is a UFA and really isn't suited for a ZBS at this point in his career. Not many players out there could start at RG and RT in Shanny's system, hence we are on a "kick the tires of every UFA OL" tour. There aren't any LT's available on the UFA market that are even serviceable at this point. This team is going to need to use the draft to flesh out their OL. I'm thinking these FA guys are more for depth and I wouldn't be surprised to see Carlos or Rocky traded for some picks which will help us grab some starting offensive linemen. Not only that, but Dockery isn't even close to being a good fit for a ZBS. He doesn't let too many people by him, linebacker or runningback and he doesn't move anywhere, either. alwaysaskin
It's gonna have to be through the draft, we aren't liking what we're seeing from this year's FA O-Linemen. I dread the possibility of Levi and Heyer starting another year, basically at this point we still have the same O-Line we had last year. That is a horrible realization. Maybe not. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/players/scouting?playerId=4539 Comment: Dockery is one of the most consistent and durable players in the league. He has excellent size, strength and limited-area athleticism. He has great power and punch at the point of attack as a zone run-blocker, while having the strength and size to anchor versus interior bull rushers. He is at his best in a limited area. He does a good job of locking on and staying connected with proper hand use and leg drive. He isn't great on the second level or in space to hit his target. He will overextend at times and tends to lose his technique toward the end of the contest. Dockery is a competitive player, but may have some conditioning concerns that affect his play late in the game. His lateral agility is limited and quick defenders are tough for him to contend with. He isn't great versus counter moves inside and needs to engage defenders early in the play to be successful. Dockery has continued to improve his overall play as an offensive guard and with more consistency he could become a premiere lineman.

Dockery was our best OL last year in the hybrid ZBS that Buges ran. If he wasn't a fit, there would be rumblings of him being on the trading block.
