skins4eva
Heard on 980 that Barrow injured his knee and is having an MRI, anyone know anything else about this? Also, Arrington injured his calf, but it didn't sound too serious...I hope and pray

jbooma
if he is having an mri this fast that can't be good, unless it was something that has been bothering him for a couple of days
MumboSauce
Hope it's nothing(Barrow)...but Kevin Mitchell might get his shot afterall, who knows.

jbooma
Barrow hurt his knee this morning and Lavar sat at. Barrow will have an MRI later to see the damage. No word on if it is severe or not.
skins4eva
The 980 update led with a report about smoot taking over for bailey and everyone on the time loves gibbs hated spurrier. They called Arrington's calf injury a calf "ailment" which doesn't sound bad. Barrow will have an mri later today
Jimbo
Fortunately we have an experienced backup to Barrow in Mitchell. I doubt LaVar would play more than a couple series against the Broncos anyway.

milliondollarslim
on the warpathinsiders board (cpnd hardcore) John Keim says Barrow walked off the field under his own power and quoted greg Williams as saying MRI was precautionary (hope he's right but he ain't no doctor). Tokeydog
As much as I like Mitchell I just don't think he is of the quality to really depend on at MLB. Let us all hope Barrow is well. Even if it means a week off.

ntotoro
Unless someone gets a break or a tear, I think a lot of this is just rust or very minor tweaks and the staff wants to be cautious. I wouldn't worry about things too much unless "surgery" starts getting mentioned. Nick

BleedB&G4life
Originally posted by jrfriedm Does anyone know when they will address the public, about all of this? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A45478-2004Aug6.html The Redskins practiced today without two of their starting linebackers, LaVar Arrington and Mike Barrow, because of injuries. Arrington had his right leg taped up below the knee, the result of getting leg whipped during Thursday's practice, Coach Joe Gibbs said. Barrow has been having discomfort in his left knee, Gibbs said, something the team has been monitoring closely, and appeared to aggravate the problem today. Barrow was scheduled to have more tests on his knee this afternoon, and his status should be updated after the Redskin practice tonight. Barrow told reporters to confer with the training staff when asked about why he was unable to participate in drills today. Gibbs did not believe either injury was severe, but losing two key players at the same position would be a serious blow. Washington opens its preseason schedule Monday night against Denver in Canton, Ohio and plays in first home preseason game next Saturday night. "It's nothing serious," Gibbs said of Arrington. "But he had a little swelling on the lower portion of his leg there. . . . Mike's had a little bit of a problem with his knee. He's got a situation there where we've giving him a little bit of a break, but I think he's okay."
freakofthesouth
Well...Taylor had an MRI too. And he's doing fine now... So, it's probably just precautionary. I'd imagine that these tweaks, pulls, etc, happen all the time, and they just have increased attention right now because there is nothing else to really talk about!
