A New Jersey man is facing several charges after authorities say he intentionally crashed his vehicle into a police station --- all while blasting "Welcome To The Jungle" by Guns N' Roses.

The incident happened on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Surveillance video from the Independence Township Police Department shows the vehicle slamming into the building.

The song was not captured in the video, but in a statement, police said the man's stereo was "blaring" the song.

The man, identified as John Hargreaves, then gets out of the car with his hands up before he was arrested by officers. He now faces several serious charges, including terrorism, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Police say earlier that day, Hargreaves intentionally crashed his SUV into the garage door of a home in Liberty Township.

NJ defines terror as "menace or fear of death or serious bodily injury".  One of the anti terror law subsection is "to cause by an act of terror the impairment or interruption of public communications, public transportation, public or private buildings, common carriers, public utilities or other public services".  Seems to me that it falls squarely within the definition of the law.

Aside from the legal definition, anyone intentionally ramming a car into a building deserves to have the book thrown at them.

Let's be for real. If he crashed into a Walmart there wouldn't be a charge.

I assume you mean there wouldn't be a terror charge.  Because there would absolutely be a laundry list of very serious charges for intentionally ramming a car into a building full of people like Walmart.  See https://www.walb.com/2023/03/17/police-deadly-thomasville-walmart-crash-was-intentional/

And attempted first degree murder in NJ is up to life in prison, so it's not like the perp here would have gotten off easy under that route.

People get charged with terror threats for threatening to shoot up or crashing a plane into a Walmart.  If someone intentionally rams a car into a Walmart, they should (and would) have the book thrown at them too.  While it may not be weapon of mass destruction terror, it's terror nonetheless.
