Conforto's catch in the 6th or 7th led to that loss. I think it was 6-5 and Ruiz nearly cleared the bases with 2 outs...oh well.
Spaceman Spiff
Last night was a game you look at if they miss the playoffs by a game or two. Blew a lead. Conforto's catch was amazing but they still blew a sizable lead.

Just wasn't meant to be, I guess!
SkinFanInMinn
I might have to take back what I said about DJ Stewart. He just keeps hitting HRs.
SkinFanInMinn
Ugh bad Os defense shows up again in the first.
DCSaints_fan
I know the game was over at that point, but Hyde really burned Wojo there. There is no reason he should have had to face Voit again after earlier surrendering the homer.
DCSaints_fan
Valdez again in the ninth? Is Hyde intentionally trying to lose games, or does he some personal enjoyment out of burning his relievers?
Spaceman Spiff
Just when you thought the Yankees were going down and the Orioles might have a chance to surpass them, they have to go ahead and play a 4 game set in NYC. Kremer looked good yesterday after the Orioles got destroyed in games 1 and 2. Still, had to have at least had a split in this series.
SkinFanInMinn
It was fun while it lasted but I think that’s about it for the Os chances this year. Look forward to seeing more progress next year hopefully.
DCSaints_fan
Stewart with a three-run homer, now Mountcastle follows up with a solo shot of his own. 5-0 Os. Future is looking bright. Inside of two months our outfield went from a question mark outside of Santander to potentially have to cut/trade productive players next year. DCSaints_fan
Wow, really put a pounding on them now, Mullins single scores 2 followed by Iglesias 3-run shot 10-0. Buy or sell - if we played in the NL East this year we would have made the playoffs.
TheDoyler23
Markakis turned an out into a homerun. Off the top of his glove and over the fence. Not his finest moment.

Our offense has been respectable, but prone to go into cold streaks for a few games at a time. But trade games against the Yankees and Rays for games against the Braves and Phillies or Braves and Miami and we'd have fared better. Tonight was a really fun game. Hope they saved some runs for games 2 and 3 against Atlanta.
DCSaints_fan
Another great outing from Akin and solid bullpen. Nice win. Alberto at 3B - didn't catch the whole game so not sure how he played, though he did turn a double play. It looks like they are getting read to move on from Ruiz. DCSaints_fan
Looks like we'll be picking 5th. We tied with the D-backs, but I think the tiebreaker is 2019 record.
Spaceman Spiff
Certainly didn't think we'd go 25-35 in a short season. Reasonably pleased with the season. There's some reason for hope headed into 2021. There are some players here who look like they could help get this franchise back to winning.
TheDoyler23
25-35 is really not that bad. I’m this wacky season, they were a healthy Means and Mancini away from possibly being one of the playoff teams. Ah well.

CD won't be cut until they know how salaries are impacted next season due to covid. They will look to save money first. If it's a normal season and all players get full salaries, I expect him to be gone.

But at this point I don't see how they don't play a full 162 next year without fans, or sparse fans throughout the park. That's what I am hoping for, anyway...because it means more baseball, also the likelihood that Davis is gone as you've pointed out. With Mancini hopefully coming back and Mountcastle, there's no room.

For a normal O's home game, the few fans they get should be workable. If we are still having games without fans, we are in a bad place with the pandemic. I don't think they have a regular ST, either. I still think sporting events are limited for fans next year but I'd love to be wrong.
Hersh
Hopefully the minor leagues have contingency plans set up before the season starts so they can get games in.
