Israel troops kill 15-year-old Palestinian in W Bank

March 20, 2014

DEIR AL-ASAL AL-TAHTA : Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian teenager in the southern West Bank on Wednesday, sources on both sides told AFP.

A Palestinian security source named the victim as 15-year-old Yussef Sami Shawamreh and said he was shot dead near the barrier southwest of Hebron.

Witnesses said the victim had been foraging for local plants when he was shot, but the army claimed he and two others had been vandalising the security fence.

The security sources initially told AFP the shooting took place near the Al-Ramadin village, but witnesses said it happened in Deir al-Asal al-Tahta.  The Israeli army claimed troops had fired at Palestinians trying to damage the barrier.

Meanwhile, Israel granted final approval Wednesday for plans to build another 186 new homes in annexed Arab east Jerusalem, a city councillor told AFP.

RAMALLAH, West Bank Sat Dec 7, 2013 4:09pm EST

(Reuters) - A 15-year-old Palestinian boy died of a gunshot wound in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, hospital officials said, and his father and two friends blamed Israeli troops guarding a nearby settlement for the shooting.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said a military police investigation had been opened but she did not have more details of events.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas blamed Israel in a statement for the "cold-blooded assassination" and said it was destructive to the peace process.

Doctors at the Ramallah hospital to where Wajih Wajdi Al-Ramahy was taken, said he died of a single gunshot wound. His father, Wajdi, said Israeli soldiers had shot him without being provoked.

so was he foraging or vandalizing the fence?

he won't make that mistake again

None of them will.   three different boys.

According to Amnesty International the IDF has shot and wounded about 2 children on average every month for the last three years in the West bank.    The lethality of  IDF incidents are accelerating with more children killed in 2013 than 2012 and 2011 combined at the hands of Israeli soldiers.

‘Trigger-happy’ Israeli army and police use reckless force in the West Bank

27 February 2014[/size]

Israeli forces have displayed a callous disregard for human life by killing dozens of Palestinian civilians, including children, in the occupied West Bank over the past three years with near total impunity, said Amnesty International in a report published today.

The report, Trigger-happy: Israel’s use of excessive force in the West Bank, describes mounting bloodshed and human rights abuses in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) as a result of the Israeli forces’ use of unnecessary, arbitrary and brutal force against Palestinians since January 2011

(*) Amnesty International documented the killing of 22 Palestinian civilians in the West Bank in 2013. At least four were children.

(*) According to the UN, more West Bank Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in 2013 than in 2011 and 2012 combined.

(*) In the last three years at least 261 Palestinians, including 67 children, have been seriously injured by live ammunition fired by Israeli forces in the West Bank.

(*) More than 8,000 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 1,500 children, have been wounded with rubber-coated metal bullets and the reckless use of tear gas since January 2011.

Really??? Let this have been your 15 year old, and I'm sure your posts would be completely different. I'm curious. Even if the kids were vandalizing a fence, what part of that makes it ok to commit murder?

You know,, a kid got shot, so there is a necessity to show it was his own fault, make snide comment about his parents loss, person with a gun to be applauded.

You know, what TWA likes to call " the morning routine".

so was he foraging or vandalizing?....does it matter?

Does it matter who is lying?

Perhaps ya need to know the color/religion of the shooter ?

The Israeli army confirmed the shooting but said the incident occurred in a separate location, some 10 kilometers (six miles) to the north.

"Earlier today three suspects sabotaged the security fence in Deir al-Asal al-Tahta, southwest of Hebron," a spokeswoman told AFP, saying troops had verbally warned them away from the area then fired warning shots in the air.

When that did not work, troops "fired towards the lower extremities of the main instigator," she said, confirming he was hit.

"He was evacuated to an Israeli hospital where he died of his wounds."

Palestinian sources said the teenager was from the village of Deir al-Asal al-Tahta but insisted the incident had occurred near Al-Ramadin, with the reason for conflicting reports over the location not immediately clear.

you raise your kids to die for a cause  and it is a tragedy when they do so?

What exactly, besides blatant prejudice, leads you to believe that this kid's death had anything to do with some sort of Muslim "cause" or that his parents raised him to be an Islamic extremist?

Answer my question on what he was doing and it might become clearer.

Is knowledge prejudice?

Ok let's take the IDF's word and assume he was "vandalizing" the fence. Same question applies. What in that leads you to believe he died for a "cause" or that he was an Islamic extremist who's parents raised him that way and encouraged him to be a martyr for said cause? Again, besides blatant prejudice on your part.

Of course. All brown people in the ME train their kids to be radical jihadists.

God, sanctity of life, dead brown kids!

Whatever.

You've certainly made your assumption, and 'answering' any of your 'questions' merely causes you to redirect the question toward the same conclusion you've already made.

Here's a photo of the people who should still fall for it.
