Danny Smith's first punt with the Steelers: Blocked... Hah!

Actually the first punt attempt was a penalty (ineligible man down field) and the Giants elected for a re-kick. The second attempt was blocked.

Looks just like the back to back blocked punts against the Saints and Rams in 2012.

The Steelers could become Special Teams laughing stocks with plays like that.  Idk why a guy like Tomlin decided to hire Smith since he's such a no nonsense type of guy.

I have come to believe that Danny Smith has dirty pictures of every person in the NFL.. Because since he was hired here in 2004, he's had Joe Gibbs, Jim Zorn, Mike Shanahan, and now Mike Tomlin as HC, and all have respected him. Apart from Zorn, who's a bumbling idiot, the other coaches have all won SBs. But they still keep hiring and retaining Danny Smith even due to poor performance.

So, the only reason I can come up with is that he's got dirty pictures. It is the only explanation that makes any sense at this point.

So far the Steelers special teams have done the following:

Blocked punt, blocked FG , and a KO return for a TD.

It's only going to get worse.

And the punter has shanked a few trying to directional kick. Can't wait for Pittsburgh's first kickoff out of bounds penalty.

Some of us tried to tell the masses, but the old "he has bad players and nothing to work with," kept rearing its ugly head. We were right and those who defended the gum chomping asswipe, were wrong.

Now now, PJ. the bad man is gone.

He's all gone.

It's time we survivors just try to pick up the pieces and move on with our lives.

And, of course, enjoy watching him make a joke out of the Steelers special teams.

Agreed, Zazzaro703.  :P  Danny Smith's massive gum-gnashing was back versus the Chiefs.  It was missing, oddly, the previous week.  Maybe Smith buys his gum from a convenience store that was built over an old Indian burial ground, rendering all of the store's items cursed, which would explain Smith's penchant for being around some really bad special teams performances.
