McCourty will likely command 8-10m per year and Suh will likely be 10-12 per year.

It doesn't say that in my post but I believe I offered around those figures, but with guaranteed money it brought the cap hit number down.  I will admit not fully understanding these numbers; I'm relying that the program knows what it's computing.

Draft w/ no trades (I'd prefer to trade down a bit):

1 - Amari Cooper, WR

2 - Ereck Flowers, OT

3 - Reese Dismukes, C

4 - Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB

5 - Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE

6 - Dean Marlowe, S

7 - Austin Shepherd, OT

So a rough snapshot of the team would look like this:

QB - RG3, Cousins

RB - Morris, Redd, Thompson

FB - Young

WR - D. Jackson, Garcon, Cooper, Roberts, Grant, Rice, Bridget

TE - Reed, TE1, TE2

OT - Williams, Bulaga, Moses, Flowers, Shepherd

OG - Iupati, Reid, Lauvao, Long

C - Lichtensteiger, Dismukes

DT - Suh, Baker

DE - Hatcher, Cofield, Odighizuwa

OLB - Houston, Kerrigan, Murphy, Miller, Jeffcoat

ILB - Robinson, Riley, Compton, Hayward

CB - Breeland, Maxwell, Amerson, Hall, Ekpre-Olomu

S - McCourty, Johnson, Thomas, Marlowe, Davis

P - Way

K - Forbath

LS - Sundberg

I think grabbing Cooper allows us to shop Garcon or maybe Roberts.  I'm also a bit light on TEs and 1 or 2 more on the DL would help so FAs/UDFAs would need to be looked at for those.

Just a quick look tells me this team is vastly improved.

For you scout types, what is the possibility or capability of Leonard Williams playing DE in our 3-4?  I've done a few mock drafts and there is some NT talent available into the 2nd rd that might turn into something.  I see that dg above drafted two DTs back to back and I've done that a few times as well.  Is Williams strictly a DT or can we use him at DE like Watt sometimes plays if we get a bigger body NT type that can play later in the draft?

So you're saying that you don't think Williams can be a 3-4 nose?

I'm not arguing that (I have no idea) just picking brains.

It depends on what type of 34. In a 1-gap 34? Yes. In a 2-gap? Maybe.

But it all depends on where/how a DC wants to use a penetrating DL. Personally, for a 34 I would like him at DE.
