StillUnknown
If other starters aren't being rested, then this doesn't mean anything. Hint: it doesn't mean anything. Other starters are being rested though.
DGREENHULK
I think this favors starting Beck week 1.Offensive starters are playing in this game I believe so it's a perfect time to get Beck more game experience with them to build more chemistry. Remember, this is not a normal off season. Normally I would agree with the back up QB starting in the 4th preseason game. Now, if Beck looks really really terrible I can see them naming Grossman the starter for week 1 and giving him all of the reps. BUt as long as he doesn't blow it I think Beck is gonna start. Most offensive skill players are OUT...Moss Hightower Davis and Gaffney according to KJ and CSN
elkabong82
I don't think it gives an indication as to who will start week 1 because both viewpoints are valid IMO. It could be Grossman getting rest to start, or it could be to even things out since Beck didn't play week 1. They are going to be playing mostly against Tampa's back-ups, so starting both wouldn't be fruitful enough. I imagine Beck starts for the first half and the Clemens gets his chance in the 2nd half to try and justify the team carrying 3 QBs this season. If this was reveresed, and Beck was sitting out, the same 2 conclusions could be drawn about who the week 1 starter is, IMO.
MDTERPS27
I just wanted to remind everybody that the reason Beck didn't play week 1 of the preseason was because of injury. Grossman is not injured, and in my opinion is a lot better than Beck in every aspect. Rex Grossman should be the starter week 1.
SpacePenguin
just read on twitter that grossman is in full uniform warming up, so it looks like he is playing hahaha...I'll be glad when this nonsense is over, so you nuts can go back to being Redskin fans instead of Beck or Rex ones. Not you specifically skinsfan.
Truant
Other starters are being rested though. Oh, well... then it could mean something. Heh. I still don't think Shanahan would show his cards like this.

He just has 2nd/3rd stringer written all over him. Nice guy, though.
elkabong82
Most offensive skill players are OUT...Moss Hightower Davis and Gaffney according to KJ and CSN THT is out to rest and give Torain and Royster a chance to show themselves. Moss and Gaffney are out so the remaining WRs can make their last case for a spot. I don't think any of the starting OL are out, nor is Young. I think Davis is out to give Sellers one last chance. That being said, I'm fine with either Grossman or Beck as our starter. In Shanny I trust.

SkinFaninOKC
I think Grossman is the starter too, he played well enough last season and add the preseason to that and Rex earned the spot, for now. I've never understood the love Beck gets from the fans. He was drafted by Parcells if memory serves. He hasn't been in the best of situations but at least Rex has experience on his side. SlkyCaramel
Calm down people Grant Paulsen Rex Grossman is on the field warming up in uniform and helmet. LEED3D
That would be hysterical if Shanahan had Rex and Beck battle it out tonight then started Kellen Clemens for the season opener hahahaha. But honestly... you have to admit you'd laugh at least a little bit!
The Caretaker
Scolding people of not being fans because they want to see a certain QB start is a ridiculous claim, no one is not going to support their team because a certain QB is out there, they are advocating for a certain QB because he/she thinks that QB gives the Redskins the best chance to succeed. Truant
That's good. I was about to echo Truant's sentiments. Wait. If Grossman, Beck, and Clemens play... does that mean that recently waived Ben Chappell is our starting QB?? Someone dial JLC... STAT.
SpacePenguin
I think ES would be more entertaining if they went with Kellen than watching Clemens get murdered by the Giants.. It'd be funny regardless, though. ---------- Post added September-1st-2011 at 05:59 PM ---------- Scolding people of not being fans because they want to see a certain QB start is a ridiculous claim, no one is not going to support their team because a certain QB is out there, they are advocating for a certain QB because he/she thinks that QB gives the Redskins the best chance to succeed. When its mostly uninformed hatred of the opposing QB, impartial people get tired of it, and it serves no real purpose, as most people have already decided which they'd like to start. I see your point, but I don't even read the obviously biased posts anymore, so to each their own.
