DCchillin89
I know there was a thread like the before the free agency frenzy and training camp started. Let's revisit this subject. bigtymeskin2126
Lots of new names on there.. good to see. I haven't seen a prediction for us winning more than 6 games yet, so hopefully these young'ns prove the haters wrong.
Hitman21ST
Don't see both Kelly and Banks making it over Paul. Especially when there's a decent chance neither Kelly nor Banks make the 53.
DCchillin89
Don't see both Kelly and Banks making it over Paul. Especially when there's a decent chance neither Kelly nor Banks make the 53. WR was definitely hardest to pick. Depending on how the season goes, we could see all three rookies, comb and banks. I really think Shanahan not releasing 14 last year says something about what Shanny sees in comb
Soup
way too hard to guess the depth chart with shanny running the show. For all we know he could dumb Torrain before the start of the season. Can't get a lock on what he'll do I'd switch Kelly with Niles
TGI Jef
apart from Rocky (i believe he will make the team and start) and the QB position (i still think Grossman proves his RELATIVE worth in the preseason), i agree with you. top non-QB battle, in my mind, will be for #3 DB between Barnes and Buchanon. hopefully the young guy beats out Buchanon. he will, at the very least, have a few uncontested regular season games to prove his worth. also, regardless of who starts at ILB along LF, the front 7 is greatly improved and the secondary should be good no matter what. i really, REALLY like the defense this year. IF we get Andrew Luck (ie are as bad as people thnk), Haslett needs to not only be fired. he needs to be deported. banned. possibly flown into space and dropped off in the orbit of the worst possible planet. if Snyder will write a $21ish million check to Haynesworth, certainly he can talk to some country with a legit space program. I accept that 'defense wins championships'... but I don't think anyones expecting our defense to be terrible this year. Playing D is hard if your offence sucks on the other hand... We get our QB next year - fair enough. I'm hoping that Anderson Russell makes an impact in preseason because I don't see Kareem Moore taking the next step. The rest of our safeties are in the SS mold. Perhaps Gomes or even Barnes might be considered for the spot, but they're both really CBs. Otherwise, I think we have some great competition at most positions. I had the most difficulty with the WR position. If Landry were healthy, I'd cut Horton and add another receiver, probably Robinson. It's hard to cut Stallworth, but I'll go with youth.
London Kev
Agree with most of your picks. I think we will definately keep three QBs in the 53, and you gotta have a LS, so Sundberg stays. WR: Moss/Armstrong/Hankerson/Gaffney/Kelly/Paul It's great to be just talking about football this year, looks like the circus has finally left town. LUCKYMAN
I agree there is no way Kelly makes the team. There is a reason they drafted 3 receivers and brought in 2 veterans as well. Right now it is between Kelly and Stallworth and Kelly is the only one of those 2 who is injured and not practicing. I don't see it.

Rpredskins
I think Gaffney #2 WR, not Armstrong. And from the sound of it, Jarvis Jenkins could start at DE. Don't look now but the Redskins have depth at DE....

HailSkins83
All I know is that the competition and the larger early season rosters have these players hungry. Shanny loves competition at every postion and he is getting plenty of it. There will surely be some suprises but I think the WR slots will be the hardest to guess this early. I dont know which way to lean on Sellers either, he looked like a beast at training camp.
terpfan
QB - Grossman, Beck, Clemens RB - Hightower, Torain, Helu (didnt want to leave Royster off but I ran out of spots. Could maybe keep only 2 QBs or 8 OLs instead) FB - Young (I really dont know what to think about Sellers but wouldnt surprise me to see us go younger) TE - Cooley, Davis, Paulsen WR - Moss, Gaffney, Hankerson, Armstrong, Stallworth, Paul (I hate to lose Banks, but I just have a bad feeling) OT - Williams, Brown, Locklear, Capers OG - Chester, Lichtensteiger, Hicks, Hurt (I guess by default... but that last interior OL spot could go to anyone at this point) C - Montgomery DE - Bowen, Carriker, Jenkins, Golston NT - Coefield, Bryant, Nield OLB - Orakpo, Kerrigan, Jackson, White (right after the draft I'd have said no way on White, but he's apparently looked good and we don't have many other options at OLB) ILB - Fletcher, McIntosh, Riley, Alexander, Fox (kinda sucks that we'd re-sign Blades just to cut him, but ILB is crowded all of a sudden) CB - Hall, Wilson, Buchanon, Barnes, Westbrook FS - Atogwe, Moore SS - Landry, Doughty K - Gano (I like Graham but I have a feeling Gano sticks around) P - Rocca LS - Sundberg (unless he sucks in preseason and we sign someone else) Notable PS candidates: Roster, Robinson, Russell, Gomes, B. Thompson Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Banks was active for too many games last year to be eligible for the practice squad.
dfbovey
Also, It's now a 54 man roster. They did away with the emergency QB stuff and added a roster spot. Didn't they?

HAILSKINSNYC
everyone seems to think Sellers is getting cut....not so sure about that...if he shows he can play TE, I'd keep him...he'd be a versatile guy; who's also a core special teams guy....I'd keep him over Paulsen. Let me also say that I love what the Skins have done this off-season minus the QB situation....had they kept McNabb; this team would be going to the playoffs...instead we have to hope one of these QB's can be adequate. ---------- Post added August-8th-2011 at 12:11 AM ---------- regarding Banks....he lost 50% of his value by having the kickoffs moved up to the 35 yd line ---------- Post added August-8th-2011 at 12:22 AM ---------- here's my 53 as of right now: Grossman/Beck/Clemens Torain/Hightower/Helu Young/Sellers Cooley/Davis T. WIlliams/Locklear Brown/Hicks Chester/Montgomery/Lichtensteiger Hurt/Cook Moss/Gafney/Hankerson/Armstrong/Paul/Stallworth (hoping Kelly instead of Donte) Cofield/Bowen/Jenkins Carriker/Bryant/Golston Orakpo/Kerrigan/Fletcher/Macintosh Riley/Blades/Fox Landry/Otogwe/Doughty/Russell Hall/Wilson/Buchanon/Barnes only have 2 ---------- Post added August-8th-2011 at 12:24 AM ---------- meant to say I only have 21 defensive players as of now
