JoeWolf990
Jack wasn't good either. Reports coming out of Spain claim Bayern Munich are stepping up their interest in Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin. Bayern's sporting director Michael Reschke is set to to travel to the Spanish capital to hold talks with Atletico over a possible move. yeah, no one really played well aside from the defense and Palace didnt really attack much. Gibbs Hog Heaven
..... ***edit*** Did you go to Anfield? On TV the crowd seemed pretty tame…. Already addressed this over the page in post 8700 bud :- ..... Very subdued crowd too. Too many sitting on their hands waiting for the players to entertain us instead of playing their part and inspiring the players. That **** needs to stop right now. ..... After the highs of last seasons run in and the old place rocking like only we can, we slipped back into the monotony of an average top flight game in England most every weekend for the past two decades or so in all seater stadiums and the Premier League. On our day we're unrivalled, as will doubtless be shown on the big European nights yet again this year. But sadly and frustratingly, through a combination of seats and the Premier League catering to a different set of fans who have far more disposable income than the traditional soccer fan; Anfield a lot of times is like a morgue and no better than anywhere else. Yesterday, against uninspiring Southampton and the way L'pool approached the game, was one such frustrating occasion. Hail.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Micah Richards and Matija Nastasic, Scott Sinclair and John Guidetti look to be heading out of Manchester City, according to Manuel Pellegrini. Sign me up for Nastasic please as a 3rd choice CB. I'd happily take either/ both Richards and Nastasic. (If Richards knees check out medically.). Two quality young centre half's. Hail.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Dont worry GHH, I was referring to finishing in the top 5 or 6. We cant all be like Liverpool fans, have one good year and act like that means we all of the sudden are title contenders every year, even though they lost the only reason they werent bottom half with that defense. WAIT! The man who has just become the second highest goalscorer through his first 50 games (a phenomenal 36) in Liverpool's history has left too? Yer know, the dude who put 3 past Timmy Tourette's last term and could even afford to blaze a penalty over to spare you even more anguish :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfZUZTuLd1I Hail. The difference between the two is, Nastasic plays exclusively as a CB and is 21. Richards is 26 and isn't really a CB. He's always played at RB and, while built like an NFL LB, is only 5'11". LVSkinz
Finally rewatched Saturday's debacle and a few things jumped out. I love Darren Fletcher but he has absolutely no business playing in a two man midfield with a deep lying playmaker type. Swansea simply surrounded Herrera, who has never played in a two man midfield in his career, and completely isolated him from Mata and Rooney. Javier Hernandez is an absolute disaster in any system that requires a striker to do anything with the ball. He kills attacks and with Mata and Rooney isolated from the midfield he was rendered completely useless. Adnan Januzaj needs to be one of the first names on the team sheet IMO. If I had $20 for every time Ronaldo got passed his man and did something strange with the ball I'd be able to afford a flat in Salford and attend games. He has the ability to completely change the defensive gameplan of the opposing team and the only way he'll improve is on the pitch in league games. The same can be applied to Phil Jones and Tyler Blackett. Put them next to Benatia if we buy him and let them work out the kinks on the pitch. That's the nature of the beast when you invest in young center backs and there's no way around it. Both are better than Smalling and Evans. Hell if Vidic sticks around the game probably ends 1-1. Overall at the top of the squad we have players that can play for anyone, but when LVG said the squad is unbalanced he probably meant that the gap between the aformentioned players and the meat of the squad is astronomical. The only place we have real depth is the number 10 and with only one viable midfielder to speak of depth in that area is pretty useless. Even with all that, if the defense is strengthened and Carrick, Van Persie and Shaw make it back United will compete for 3rd or 4th place even without a marquee signing, but what we absolutely cannot do is sit the rest of the transfer window out. We'll see over the next few weeks if the players due to return can't make a difference and if Van Gaal can't get the side to gel and get some positive momentum going. Both are natural centre backs and shown there early in their careers. I'd happily slot Richards back in the middle safe in the knowledge he'd do a good job. Which is why the club are desperately trying to bring more quality in before the deadline. Hail. LVSkinz
Let's be real here Liverpool were very fortunate not to drop points at home too and it wasn't really a "professional" victory like the one City had. Arsenal played a team in utter turmoil at home and didn't exactly set the world on fire. We'll see in a few weeks if it will be just me and RR talking about United or everyone else. Gibbs Hog Heaven
Fabulous start for Burnley Terrible defending for Chelsea Absolute disgrace that Cech has been benched for Coutois. If you were going to go with your future all along fair enough. But let Cech move on and continue to play at the highest level. He deserves FAR better from Chelsea after all his service. Dude is still one of the best around. Hail.

SkinInsite
Cech will probably push for a move during the winter windows, of course the dick move would be to play him in the champions league and get him cup tied. Holy hell Chelsea attack looks complete different Costa already drawing multiple defenders and freeing runners Burnley lucky that's not a booking Edited August 18, 2014 by SkinInsite

RawBBQSauce
Inside La Liga @InsideLaLiga · 1h Cerci tweeted that he was joining Atlético, deleted it, then stated he didn't write it b/c he was playing Playstation lol not sure what to make of this but I do think Cerci would be a perfect player for Atleti. I have found myself rooting for Atleti a lot. Is there anything wrong with that?
