Dan T.
He seemed like a genuinely nice guy and gentle soul, qualities often in short supply in professional sports these days. Peace to his friends and family.

Symbol
RIP, my mom loved you on Little House on the Prairie and you played the game of football with honor. You will be missed.
ECU-ALUM
He played with honor and was all around good-guy. I remember when he went to CBS and anytime the Skins played how he kept saying, "The Washington Redskins trade for Earnest Byner will go down as one of the most lopsided in NFL history. The Redskins got the better end of the deal by far!"
bubba9497
A little before my time, but vivid memories of him as a football annalist... and actor on "little house on the prairie"
Ghost of
RIP Merlin. I enjoyed his broadcasts, I don't remember his playing days but people seem to be in agreement he was a no-brainer Hall of Famer and somewhat ahead of his time in his athletic ability at that position. RIP Merlin Olsen. 69 isn't young but it doesn't seem old enough.

Jeff in D.C.
Being only 33 I don't remember his playing days, but I'll always remember Merlin as a great color analyst for NBC along side Dick Enberg back in the 80's. rip Merlin.
Jimbo
I was lucky enough to see him play with the Rams. He was a perennial All-Pro and just a great, great player. He was a very good announcer and a pretty decent actor. I even liked his FTD commercials because he was believable. RIP Father Murphy and prayers for his family. BigMike619
Deacon Jones couldnt even speak on it because he was so broken up. You would never imagine the Father from Little House and the FTD florist could be such a terror on the field but DAMN!! RIP Mr Olsen...

Tom [Giants fan]
Take a look at this I definitely enjoyed that Giants highlight. But what caught my eye even more was the fact that Bubby Brister was around that long ago. Didn't he just retire? It seems like he wasn't playing too long ago. Or time just goes by that fast.
Jeff in D.C.
Growing up in the 80's my only memories of Merlin were of him along side Dick Enberg on NBC. Great announcer, rip Merlin.
