morpheusmeyers
He's exactly what the offense needed, but he would have been expensive. Shanahan seems to like Alridge and he's got big time speed. So we may be better off.

VaK9Trainer
Thank god.I'm sorry but we've been down the road at throwing money at a returner  Now lets get a real RB in the draft. Best or Hardesty Please Lets just trade for Peyton Hillis.
That Redskins Fan
WHAT? When there was a chance of him coming to DC, I didn't see anyone rejecting it. Now that he's not, everyones glad? i am thinking the same... yeah this team has a lot of playmakers huh ..like there was no need for him
REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE
Now lets get a real RB in the draft. Best or Hardesty Please I agree, but how? First pick we are going QB or OL. Our next (as of right now) will come in the 3rd round, not sure if either of those players will be available when we pick. OMG, I would go ape ---- if we were to draft Best. Hardesty is moving up the draft board as well.
HOF44
Wonder if this means the money is gettin ready to fly in free agency. Something made the Charger's change thier mind and take on what seems to be a pretty big salary. Maybe they heard rumblings.
Burgundy Burner
More money to spend on players like Dansby, Robinson, Rolle, Pashos, and Peppers. Heck, toss in Bodden too. Maybe Bryant.
REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE
We'll see come draft time won't we. Like what Ive seen from him on youtube(spinmoves, vision). I would love to get him in the 4th! He will not be available in the 4th round, his stock is skyrocketing.
RabidFan
D Hall for punts, Devin for Kickoffs....Aldridge for 3rd down blazing speed....saves 7mil....put that towards Dansby and Rolle
The Cowboy Bamma Rocker
DAMN! oh well, you can find these guys late in the draft but it would have been nice to wrap up a proven young guy giving up no draft compensation
Oldskool
Somewhat surprising but in the end if the Chargers let him walk they would have had squat for RB's on their roster. They weren't able to do a trade for a RB before the deadline so they were forced to tender Sproles.
GibbsFactor
That really sucks. He's the one free agent I really wanted.
Peeping Wizard
Just saw this, I'm glad. I like Sproles but for some reason him coming here just reminds me of Chad Morton 2.0 I had that feeling when we signed ARE. This would have been more like Chad Morton 3.
redskindan07
Sproles would have surely been an upgrade over ARE... Oh well there has got to be a good replacement out there
drtdrums
<--- bummed. Sproles is special, cost aside. I'm actually almost depressed. I had visions of 25+ yard runs and effective screens/flares dancing through my head.
Boss_Hogg
We can live without him, Shanny can make a solid RB out of anyone.
MrJL
looks like the Skins might have to adjust their RB plans and draft one.
allannis
We don't need a running back.
