Westbrook apparently suffered a hard hit on the opening drive of the second half and did not return to the game. Westbrook missed the previous two games with a concussion, which he suffered in the Monday night game against the Washington Redskins. Last week Westbrook ws cleared for practice but apparently developed a headache Friday afternoon and was held out of last week's game. Westbrook practiced this week and was cleared to play in the game by the Eagles' medical staff.

OWUeagleMD
Westbrook and Curtis should both go to IR. Westbrook for his own sake, Curtis for the team's.
SC_RedskinsFan
This may end up being a career ender for Westbrook. Its a sad way to end a career, i dont care what team you are on.
DWinzit
Sucks for WB. He was very concerned about his own health and took the extra week. Based on his prior worries I doubt he plays for quite a while...and rightfully so. It has long been my thought that any player sustaining a concussion should sit for a minimum of the following game. He sat for two, and it clearly wasn't enough.
Hitman#21
Wow this is sad, i hope hes alright. i think they should give him the season to rest this out. Hopefully this isn't serious.
Tom [Giants fan]
You know his pride is going to make him want to come back. They need to shut him down for at least four games and see how he is after that.
Mania
I feel bad for Westbrook, he is a class act and a great player and grew up a Skins fan.
Vicious
You can't risk the brain. Pack it in, Westbrook.
ncr2h
Hate to see this happen to such an explosive player. Hope everything works out for him, whether he continues to play or not.
Warhead36
The Eagles messed up by not getting a power back years ago to compliment Westbrook. Guy was never built to handle 16 game seasons as a single back.
GhostofSparta
2 concussion in 3 weeks means it's time to shut it down for the year. If you want to be coherent in 10 years, you take care of yourself now.
Chachie
The Eagles messed up by not getting a power back years ago to compliment Westbrook. Guy was never built to handle 16 game seasons as a single back. I think they had hoped Buckhalter would be that power back. When he didn't put up the numbers, they went with their best guy. Destino
Sad to see such a strong rival go down like that. I hope he meets with doctors completely unrelated to football for a second opinion before he even considers stepping on the football field again. Operations
Great, great player. A real Redskins killer. Philly will really suffer without him.
iMeast
If that guy could have stayed healthy he would have been one of the best all-around backs since Marshall Faulk. HTTR
BKSkinsFan
Just saw this on ESPN, he even took that extra week off, hate to hear he suffered another one so quickly. I think he was speaking with a former player about this, and seemed concerned about it, I'm sure he will do the intelligent thing and not come back unless he's not at any huge risk. He's a great player, and has been such an integral part to Philly's offense. I hope he recovers and continues to have a great career, even if it is for the Eagles, he's a classy guy. SlinginSammy HOF '63
Great player and fun to watch. One of the few game changing guys in the NFL. I hope he's OK. I loved the team first mentality he had. Breaking away for a TD and then takes a knee at the goal line to secure the victory formation instead of giving the other team the ball back in their hands.
