21forlyfe
sellers should have at the very least stayed on his feet and shielded the guy. if he was going to block him, he should have put him on the ground. i blame sellers. Well lets hope the rest ES will gain some common sense too:D
bobzmuda
Yeah, ok, blame Portis who busts off a 79 yard run on a bum ankle.Stay on your damn feet and lead the way into the end-zone. 45 dove into the defender which did absolutely nothing. I would say 24 other NFL RBs score on that play. That was a perfectly blocked play and Portis couldn't score.
darrelgreenie
During the big run, Mike Sellers had his chance to escort Portis all the way to the house and he pooped out. Could a TD here have won the game? Thoughts??? My thoughts? I thought that Portis should have cut inside the block, across Sellers block this would have forced the DB to turn his hips and Portis would have gained a step and tried to out run him at an 45ish degree angle. Once we got into the RZ if Zorn could have come up with a play that got someone open would've been nice. Although i thought Collins missed an open ARE a curl right with a clear passing lane on the 3rd down pass that got tipped, but then again the person Collins was throwing to may have been open as well? Leonard Washington
got dayum...if anyone is watching the eagles game, you see f'in textbook blocking for the ball carrier by a wideout.
.THEkid.
mmm kay...so how many yards did ladell get? Infact where is CP ranked among NFL rushing LEADERS? Iguess you will come up with some excuses again....:chair:SAMF Okay my apology for ranting a bit. BUT, that doesn't change my perspective on Portis. We all understand the Oline problem which decreases the stats of CP, but he ain't nothing special, we just need to draft a RB. Javid Best would have scored on that play in 4 seconds and without the help of Sellers. As for Betts, i can care less for him. He's just a worse version of CP. Oline & RB NEED to be addressed this offseason, and we'll be right back on top with the other teams. Our D is super solid, all we need is Oline (time in pocket), and RB (big play ability). Collins is WAY better the JC, let him and Colt compete for the starting job.
21forlyfe
You people are smoking some strong stuff. It is not the lead blockers job to escort the running back. The running back is supposed to be faster than the lead blocker. Seller's job was to spring portis, HE DID THAT. Portis' out of shape slow ass that doesn't practice couldn't run away from a blocked man and make a play. Instead he just hid behind Sellers. You really think any other running back in this league that is respected would have done that?! The only reason Portis had that run at all was because of Sellers, without him leading the way the stumbling clown would have gone down early. Are we somking?Let see you are blaming a RB who finshed with 100+ yards on less than 20 carries..ES FANS ARE game 2 game HAters ...CP will be in the top 5 rushers in the NFL in the next 3 weeks:laugh: only ES belives that CP cant run for more than 30 yards:doh: ES fans proven to be wrong again:laugh::laugh::laugh:
Est.1974
Its hard to blame a FB when he is still infront of his RB 80 yards downfield. CP shoulda been dancing in the endzone when Sellers was at the 10 yard line. The end of that play kinda sums this team up.
Jumbo
You're so ****ing delusional. If i met any of these redskins fan who really believe what that say, i would punch each of you in the tempo. Sellers did all he can do. Portis should have cut back inside and run across the field. That run wasn't even about portis, yea he got 70+ yards, but who can't if NOONE is near you. You know portis suck when its a 2 v 1. Sellers shielded the defender, portis just didn't make a play. Simple as that. take some time off and chill. it'll be for the best anyway. REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE
I blame CP ... he should have cut to the middle of field and would have scored easily ... instead he stumbled as usual and fell short. Thank you..........he has the acceleration of an old lady.........I'm so ready for a new young RB.......Any other starting RB takes that to the house.......... Leonard Washington
Incorrect!!! Portis pushed Sellers to the ground with his right hand at the end of the run instead of just running to his left. This one is on CP and not on Sellers. Sorry. portis had a clear path to the endzone and sellers cut him off (meanwhile sellers hasn't made contact with the eventual tackler). wtf is clinton supposed to do? run out of bounds? You definitely do not have any if you think it's Seller's fault. Portis had 50 yards at least to make a cut, he just kept running right behind sellers all the way down. You cannot expect a man to block a guy for 50 yards downfield and you never make a move. You are delusional.

You are portis fanboy, probably build him all up to all your friends. Probably rock his gear. I can name probably 20 other teams Portis would not be a starter on. When portis starts breaking tackles, stops tripping over his own feet, and is capable of beating people in the open field then I'll consider your opinion. The clown doesn't have break away speed and can't cut in the open field. The only thing he has is toughness and a decent ability to see a hole. Leading the league in rushing my ass. Maybe he can gain some more weight and find some work as a lead blocker.

He really believes portis is still an elite back. At this point I wouldn't call him average. I'd rather have almost any other rb in the league starting over him as well as Mason on our own team. SirClintonPortis
Portis lacked burst on that run and if he had some more speed, could have turned it up to the middle of the field. A fluke play that will probably never happen again. Aside from this play that wreaked my sig bet, the running game was ineffective as usual.
