loren
It's much more easy to block when you know what's coming. Heard phrase "Knowing is half the battle."D shifts before snap all the time. Having guy tell / change base on what's happening currently doesn't help your team protection? Peyton only has Wayne, Clark and bunch of no name rookies playing long stretches. Believe their 2 & 3 WR went down with injuries for awhile. JC is more than Peyton, but Peyton has way better pocket presence than > JC. Which is more important at QB position? You think if we start 3 un drafted OL things won't be worse than now? Tell that to Garcon that Manning only has Wayne and Clark. He also had Harrison. Also, their run game has always been good, I think that speaks to the quality of their offensive line. I'm not sure I understand your last point. Whether drafted or not, if we started 3 crappy offensive lineman, things would be worse. Stephon Heyer is terrible. You think Manning playing here would keep Heyer from getting beat on every single play?
loren
Anyway, I don't know why I'm debating Campbell's worth. He may be a franchise guy one day, he may not. Whatever. My point is that you can change the QB (as has been done multiple times), you can change the coach (as has been done multiple times), but the one consistency has been the way the owner and FO operate. No system, no thoughts to consistently plugging the holes, whatever they may be, poor talent evaluation, just constantly overpaying for a name and underperformance. I thought that might be changing over the past couple of offseasons, and they go and spend millions on ONE PLAYER in the offseason.

MumboSauce
How can we have top 10 talent with a old regressed o line and #2 WR's and a mediocre QB? There lies the blindness...we are what we are. A team that when it all clicks and A games are brought they will go 8-8 to 9-7, but with a injury, miscues, lack of intensity, poor execution, bad plays or coaching calls, then you are 5-11 to 7-9. Not supremely talented but there is talent.
loren
Every team has talent. The Rams have talent in Stephen Jackson. The Lions have Calvin Johnson. The Redskins just aren't much more talented than any other team, at any position. The only positions they're truly talented at are 1st WR and TE. You're not going to be anything but mediocre when you're mediocre (and overpaid) at every position.
myzhi
Tell that to Garcon that Manning only has Wayne and Clark. He also had Harrison. Also, their run game has always been good, I think that speaks to the quality of their offensive line. Harrison isn't on team anymore. Garcon was drafted in 6th rd. He wasn't expect to be 2nd or 3rd WR until they were hit by injuries. Peyton is making him look good. Their running game is good because teams are more worry about their passing game. No team is going to stack 7-8 in box to stop their running game like us. Wierd, but today, have you heard "Pass to setup the run?" I'm not sure I understand your last point. Whether drafted or not, if we started 3 crappy offensive lineman, things would be worse. Stephon Heyer is terrible. You think Manning playing here would keep Heyer from getting beat on every single play? Peyton could do a few things: 1) Call help to Heyer with a G, RB and/or TE. 2) Roll pocket. 3) Get rid of ball even quicker. Already fast as it is. 4) Move in pocket away from Heyer knowing he is the weak link.
RichmondRedskin88
Well for starters the team could work on dropping their individual egos alittle. When the Skins works together as the team they can take down teams that on paper they should lose to. When the Redskins went through the Vikings, Giants, and Cowboys to make the playoffs they were thinking of two things. They wanted to make the postseason and honor Sean Taylor. They didn't think of their ego only of Sean Taylor. I know players will have egos but our players have let them go way overboard for as bad as their playing. truskin4life
That's the problem, they're always trying, to their detriment, to improve at all the sexy positions, but do nothing to improve what EVERYONE knows is the lynchpin of any good offense. Jason Campbell isn't any great shakes, but he's a serviceable QB, but it won't matter if the offensive line is always mediocre and 1-2 injuries away from being terrible. amen! AllWorldSkinFan
I guess the question is - Is it possible to have an incompetent front office and be a contender or even a champion? Or - Can you have a competent front office and still have a losing record? If we win out this season, does Snyder become a great owner assuming he does nothing different? Would Zorn then be a genius? Destino
We are easily in the top 8-10 in the NFL when you look @ talent. QB: Not top 10 (16th is passer rating RB: CP doesn't look even close to top 10 and is 16th is yards per game. WR: Not top 10 TE: Top 10, maybe top 5. OL: Bottom 10 DE: Not top 10 DT: Maybe. LB: 1 top ten LB out of 3 DB: Maybe K: Not top 10 P: Maybe I don't see the talent people are seeing.
TotalRecall
Are we blind? There's like 20 threads about how bad the Redskins have been. Yeah, there is an equal amount to how good or improved the Redskins are.
Monkfan63
Eh. I have come to accept it. I didn't get excited about the win either. I am a big picture guy. I understand that we beat a horrible Bucs team by 3 but that it doesn't affect the likely outcome that we will win maybe 5 games.
dinosworld
For a name like trueskins4life to not be happy about a victory is upsurd. Yes we all know the problems. I for one do not agree with many comments made by many fans who really are frustrated because they truly love the Redskins or maybe they just need something else to complain about in life. As a fan I realize that we have a chance of seeing the team play up to it's potential like in the 3rd Quarter yesterday or far below it like in the rest of the game. The O-Line is serviceable it like the rest of the team is prone to making the occasional mistake but for the most part it lives up to its part of the bargain. I still focus most of my angst on play calling on both sides of the ball but still believe it can be fixed. Yes we play to our competition and so far we haven't played well. But I still think we will somehow find a way to play our division games the way we always play them we will surprise a few teams. I am not sold on the Cowboys or the Eagles as being good teams either and hopefully in a few weeks we can win 3 straight against Philly. That's right last year they were supposed to dominate us too.... so we had 4 turnovers played like crap all game and our line sucks.. But CP managed 98 yards on ground Moss and Cooley both found the end zone and we did enough to win. I lost my voice screaming and probably had one too many drinks because I felt like crap this morning. But through all the bad plays and feelings I had during the game they Redskins left with a "W" and I was very happy about it. If the Redskins play crappy football all season long and accidentally win games even though everyone say's they suck I'll be happy. I'll take the crappiest game ever if it ends up with a "W" and for the most part I'll be happy about it.... I'd rather be 2-2 then be 0-4 like the Titans.... With all of our problems a few adjustments could actually keep us in this thing.
hogsinheaven
I have two words that sum up all of the bad years we have been through - "Daniel Snyder". He is the curse, he is the constant. Our only hope is that he truly is a fan, and will realize that he must sell the team to save it. God Bless Jack Kent Cooke and God Bless Our Redskins! SkinsFTW
Dan Snyder should petition the league to make Field Goals count for as many points as TD's to make it fair. We'd be able to keep up then.
SteamRollingRiggo
I reserve "suck" for Cleveland and Oakland Correction, we do suck. We could barely beat a team that was probably worse than us at home. Mind you that Tampa started a first time starter at QB. I really think that if Leftwich played, we would have been in trouble. Long-Time-Fan
Did anyone catch on ESPN when Tom Jackson said that......... "Dan Snyder is a homeowner who's roof is leaking but he still keeps working on the Basement" It's true too. We didnt need a 100 million dollar D-lineman for a D that was ranked 4th last year. We needed offense, and we got nothing, and now it shows. And the D drops off this year and you have what we have here today,,but thats the way he wants it,and thats the way he gets it.No I dont like this anymore than you do........... GibbsFactor
I feel a lot better about this game. They showed heart and succeeded in the face of adversity. We barely won because we turned the ball over 4 times. Sloppy and in the position we were in after last week, looked down and out. But the whole team came out after halftime with pride. Pain is temporary, pride is forever!
LoudMouth12thMan
Actually it's more about the blind, delusional, narrow focused view of the talent of certain individuals on this team. It's all about perspective. There are few explosive players on offense, and there aren't any game changers on defense. -D. Hall is an average corner with great hands, not an elite corner. There's a distinct difference between Champ Bailey or A. Winfield compared to a guy like D. Hall. Hall is in the middle-class, not the upper echelon of DB's even with his great hands. *Zorn isn't even using his talents to the team's advantage. Being a Tech fan, I know how good Hall can be as a PR or KR and even as a wideout occasionally. But, when you spend tons of money on a Fair Catch Specialist and a 3rd/4th string caliber receiver, you gotta spend your money right [rolls eyes]. -Haynesworth is a beast but he hasn't proven to be a game-changing force yet. *This could change if Blache calls more blitzes and mixes it up a bit more like he did yesterday. Stay tuned. -London Fletcher=great tackler and makes plays, but not, NOT, a game changer...and yes I do think he's a Pro Bowler. -Moss is about the only guy who is a game-changing player on this entire roster, therefore teams key on him to try to shut him down. *The good teams successfully shut him down. The bad ones slip up occasionally during the game and allow Moss to beat them [i.e. the game against the Lions and Bucs respectively.] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's not that fans are blind, it's that they are being force fed that this team has ALLLLLL the talent in the world. That's absolute horse dung! Campbell, Portis, Randel El, Landry, Rogers, Hall, Horton, Doughty, Thomas, Kelly, and every O lineman save Samuels are all role player caliber guys. But, you guys get fed and believe that they're the best of the best or close to it. Nope! Not even close. Cooley, McIntosh, Fletcher, Samuels, and maybe Sellers [whose position is becoming extinct in the NFL] are the only players on this team scratching the surface of being game-changers. Really? How much can a TE, WLB, MLB, a LT, and an H-Back/F-Back change a game without the supporting cast? If they're the only pieces you've got, you're destined to fail. This speaks to the incompetence that is the "front office." Ideally you want an elite QB, HB, WR, DB, Pass Rusher(s), a serviceable O line that has chemistry and tenure to start building a team. Then, if you have a Pro Bowl caliber TE, MLB, LT, Will, or an H-Back to compliment that nucleus of elite players, that's icing on the cake. The Skins under Snyder have always been ass-backwards. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I was wrong some day or things changed for the better....still waiting.
hogsinheaven
Enough with the "true fans" bull ****. Anyone who says they are a true fan because they do not boo is full of ****. Are you telling me that you are clapping when we rush for 0 yards in a half. Are you cheering when you look at the scoreboard and see a goose egg every week at the end of the first quarter. Are you jumping up and down with elation when we lose to a team that hadnt won since 07???? Fact of the matter is that none of us so called "fake fans" are turning in our jerseys for another teams. We are showing our frustration through our actions and there is nothing wrong with that. We are all in this boat together - through thick and thin. I think that Snyder, Zorn, Campbell and the rest of the team need to hear the discontent. There is power in our disapproval. The only one that it seems to affect adversely is Robert Henson and who gives a **** about that. When my child does something wrong, or dumb, or just plain thoughtless I will scold him and yell at him. Why can I not do the same to a bunch of adults making millions of dollars? When my child does something rite, or smart, or just plain thoughtful I will reward him and cast praise. When the Redskins start playing up to their potential than Hail them. Until then damn rite its BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
