The Obama campaign will be reporting the following numbers for September. (This is not a solicitation, its simply for the video contained on the page)

Like him or hate him you gotta admit that this is amazing fund raising.

$150,000,000 raised in September

$300,000 new donors

3.1 Million donors

While McCain is playing defense defending states that are must wins Obama is able to go on offense and push into new areas forcing McCain to spend money where he shouldn't have to. If Obama wins David Plouffe (Campaign Manager) is gonna be a highly sought after campaign manager.

More than half of the whopping $426.9 million Barack Obama has raised has come from small donors whose names the Obama campaign won't disclose.

And questions have arisen about millions more in foreign donations the Obama campaign has received that apparently have not been vetted as legitimate.

I find it hard to celebrate 600 million being spent to gain a political office, but it's your money....certainly not mine.

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Barack_Obama/Campaign_Financing

"Obama has been raising campaign cash for two political pots -- Obama 2010 Inc., his Senate re-election committee, and the Hopefund, another war chest. Obama, until his recent conversion on the eve of his presidential run, took more than $1 million from political action committees.

"An examination of disbursements from the two funds reveals how Obama was able to use legal loopholes commonly used by other presidential contenders to pay for White House testing-of-the-water expenses," Sweet wrote.[3]

"Discussing the issue of campaign finance reform, Obama said, 'The argument is not that I'm pristine, because I'm swimming in the same muddy water, ... The argument is that I know it's muddy and I want to clean it up," Barack Obama said August 16, 2007, in Des Moines, Iowa.[4]

I HOPE this is true....time will tell

So let me see if I get this straight, you are mad at Obama for following the law that does not require disclosure of under $200? [edit] Wasn't that part of McCain's legislation?[/edit]

And you want to criticize Obama for information you want to find, versus information that you have found?

You're also mad that people broke contribution laws by giving false information, and I guess you're mad that the Obama campaign is returning that falsely donated money too.

You know, desperation doesn't quite describe what I'm hearing, and I won't even mention the objectivity of newsmax.com.

And that's exactly right, its our money donated freely, not tax payer money given by the government. I'm still frustrated that my tax payer money is being used by the McCain campaign to run his slime ads and despicable robocalls.

Ah yes, good ole Father Faker.

I made no statement. I simply posted a small quote, and a link, that points to the possibility of your heroburger not being on the up & up in his fundraising practices, and, as usual, you feel the need to describe your opinion of anybody who doesn't worship Obama, and apply it to me.

Good for you. You get a cookie.

Give it up Ax, its clear what you implied, and furthermore if you don't want implications to be made about what you edit and copy then you should probably spell out what you mean. What's more is that I addressed the "concerns" from the website and since you quoted it and linked to it naturally it falls to a basic assumption that you had a reason for posting those things; i.e. that you agreed with them. So puhhhleeezzee.

So, for the record do you agree with the article that you yourself quoted and linked to? Or is there some other mysterious reason why you tracked down that groundbreaking piece of investigative journalism?

you often don't get what you expect for your money.

The blog you cite tries to implicate Obama in the investigation yet:

Yet the Chicago Sun Times article that your cited blog entry points to as its source says:

"But Obama's actions in awarding the money are not a focus of the investigation, Smith said."

See that's the problem with blogs; they can tell whatever shaded version of the truth they want you to believe, they have no need for journalistic integrity.

jealousy is a terrible emotion...

In other thoughts, why is the Republican depending on government welfare to run his campaingn while decrying welfare and socialism?

Honestly, this is something I have argued for years that campaign finance reform needs to be pushed through with real teeth

You must suck the money out of politics

Senator Obama broke a promise on public funding of his campaign, which is actually my biggest criticism of him.

The system that we currently use to finance our campaigns leads to the corruption, greed, and just piss poor governing that we see

Hopefully he hasn't been hanging around the Chinese at any fundraisers like Al Gore did back in 1996

My solution: Ban political TV advertising. You will suck the money out of politics and get real solutions and real "change"

Spending 600 million dollars on a political campaign, when there are many other issues affecting our country, is a joke IMO

What a crock and you know it. Obama and his team reneged on an initial promise and made a calculated assessment that his campaign could finance it through other means than matching funds and because of this strategy they lessen the chance the FEC will/can audit where their contributions come frome. Any chance those "foreign" contributions will be identified and sent back??

What does he needs that much money for considering the media already pushes his message and Bashes McCain, blames everything on the GOP and Bush, and attacks Joe the Plumber, while ignoring the Democrats role in the Housing mess, for free?

The media performance should be considered an inkind contribution IMO.

Contraire, it trys to show his bad judgment....and his stewardship of funds

Not a very good track record if you follow his career....of course blowing this election and all those millions to McLame would be a new record as well.
