DWinzit
Rams fire Linehan, sources say; Haslett expected to take over St. Louis Rams coach Scott Linehan has been fired, two team sources said Monday morning. Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, a former head coach of the New Orleans Saints, was expected to be named interim coach, but details had not been finalized. An official statement from the team around was expected for 8:30 a.m. ET. The Rams dropped to 0-4 on Sunday with a 31-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills (4-0). Linehan, 11-25 in his third season, last week was put on notice to make immediate improvements by owner Chip Rosenbloom. After three blowout losses to open the season, Linehan benched quarterback Marc Bulger in favor of 38-year-old Trent Green. Linehan had six new starters in all, four on defense. Rams running back Steven Jackson, who had criticized Linehan's decision to bench Bulger during his weekly radio show, had 110 yards on 24 carries and five catches for 78 yards. Chris Mortensen is a Senior NFL Analyst for ESPN. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3615358
TheDoyler23
That was quick. Nothing stinks worse than losing; it magnifies anything and everything negative and breeds off itself.
DWinzit
Ownership had to fire him. He lost his team last week.

Reic
Linehan made some stupid decisions, but Haslett isn't going to do much better for them.
Oldskool
He needed to go. Not a good coach at all. Rod Marinelli and Lane Kiffin are just as bad and need to be sacked.
Truant
They will be better with Haslett. Our game against them just got a tick harder.
Peregrine
Darn, this means we get the not-QUITE-as incompetent Rams when we play them. The Rams are a team we must beat.

Oldskool
I doubt Haslett will have them at a point where they can beat us the way we are playing and the way that they are playing. Their O-line is a shamble. Taylor and Carter should have a field day against Bulger.
bulldog
the Rams have a lot of problems from the top down. apparently the GM and Team President is going to step down after the season and the new owners are going to go in a different direction. meanwhile, outside of Bulger, Jackson and Torry Holt there aren't that many recognizable performers on this team. DWinzit
With the impending ownership change players will know whoever is the coach is a lame duck. They will however play better for them then if Linehan stayed. Linehan does not deserve another opportunity to be HC for a long time.:2cents:
