I need suggestions on what shows to see and what restaurants are fun and different. We are staying at the Venetian.

Thanks

If you're a Beatles fan see love. O at the Bellagio is really good too. There are a million restaurants in vegas so you may want to be more specific on your preference. I think theres a great steak house called CUT in the Pallazo or Venetian. I've eaten at the CUT here in LA and it was delicious. It is mainly for meat eaters though.

I stayed at the Venetian with the ex-wife.

It is a beautiful hotel. Things we did while we were there: Gondola ride at the Venetian, picture taken with the MGM grand baby lion, saw the tigers at the Mirage, Tournament of Kings at Excalibur, went shopping at Caesars palace and saw the Fall of Atlantis and Festival Fountain show at Caesars Forum Shops.

Other than that we just made our way up and down the strip.

If you are going to be there for multiple days and want to get out of the casino's for a day to two there are a few neat tourist things to see near the outskirts of Vegas..

#1 is the Hoover damn. There is a very cool raftting trip which starts are the base of the damn and runs a few miles down the river. They actually take you up inside the damn on a raft which was pretty cool. Also as you float down the river big horn sheep can be seen on the cliffs above and on the river banks which I thought was very cool. It was a great break from the casino's and something I highly recommend. It's not white water rafting, but the guides are very knowledgeable. They talk about the rocks, how the river was formed, they point out the history of the area dating back to the depression, the wildlife, and how the damn was built... All very interesting. ( well to me at least )...

#2 I haven't actually done yet, but I want to. Travel to the site where they detonated the first atom bomb. I heard it's near vegas and there are bus tours.

#3 Area 51 where all the UFO's are supposed to be kept is near Vegas too. I haven't done that one either, but going to check it out would be a pleasent respite from the casino's. You can't actually tour the base, for obvious reasons, but I've heard you can drive up a mountain and overlook parts of the base.. Also there are a number of tourist establishments which you can vist...
