chiplohmillers#1
Rock has exceeded expectations. But at the end of the day I want a game changer back there. Not a player that can get the ball just pas the 20 every time. The guy has had a remarkable 7 year career but lets be honest he shouldnt be returning kicks. bobbydigytel
if rock has to put in some time at rb, that could effect his performance :shhh::shhh::shhh::shhh::shhh::shhh:
Ray Brown
Rock Cartwright Fumbles on Kick Returns, by Year (Source: nfl.com)2007: 0 2006: 0 2005: 0 2004: 0 2003: 0 2002: 1 That's a huge stat. Special teams must be mistake free for a team to be successful. Kickoffs espicially, a botched kick or punt can alter a game significantlly, as it should have done in seattle this year. rm8899
I'm actually more concerned with him loosing all the weight, probably more fragile. But then again i'm not the one bull-dozing down the field like a kamikaze. Rock's got that mentality and is IMO a top five true redskin.

Blackest Eyes
Hopefully they try Rock on punts as well. Randle El's style just doesn't work in my eye and Rock is a more up the gut runner That would be cool to see. I get frustrated watching Randle El return punts because he runs sideways and usually doesn't get anywhere.
F Landry
I definitely could be mistaken, but didn't Rock start out as a FB when Gibbs got here? Wasn't he like 265? If I am right, that is pretty insane to drop that much weight even in a couple of years. A true team player in my book. :2cents:

He was at 242 at one time, and that was in junior college. Each year he has gotten in better shape.
Blondie
Steroids!! Er... I am extremely offended by this comment. Rock and I have been close for years and years. He has not ever done the juice. His entire family is thick. Putting that out there like that is so not cool.
Blondie
Maybe if he cuts down on the greasy, fatty foods between kickoffs he won't fumble so much. Or maybe he should just wipe his hands. Yes, but in total, Rock has had 5 fumbles in only 6 years in the NFL. His hands are more slippery than Rosie O'Donnels at a fisting convention. Were these suppose to be funny? NavyDave
Steroids!! Er... Dude whats up with the hate? My nephew age 17 is built like Da Rock was when he came into the league. He is going the college route majoring in Engineering.

isle-hawg
This is but one of the reasons I love this guy (in a manly way of course). Each coaching change have wanted to use him in a different way and all this guy does is beef up or loose weight to suit the way the incoming coach wants to use him. And in MANY ways prove himself to be a great team player!
RandyHolt
A fullback trying to become a speed guy is a bit over the top, so let's have some realistic expectations of where that will lead. He had one touchdown, sure. But he still wont outrun many and doesn't break tackles. Mitchell was slow but got TD's and always instantly credited blocking. Rock is a Joe Gibbs kinda guy, just like Thrash. A very respectable person and player. But Gibbs is gone. I want to see some new legs get a chance in the return game. I wont even talk about Thrash returning punts, even though he had a TD, he got some great blocks. Ok ST's.

skins4me58203
I'm waiting for the: But.... Jerome Mathis....and Rock fumbles and.... Shut up. Rock is a true Redskin and a damn good player. What is the definition of a "True Redskin"? I'm serious, I want to know... I'm sure it has something to do with character...but beyond that...what does it take to be a "true Redskin"? What contributions need to be made? Every team has players that aren't good enough for FA. Does that make them all "true (enter team name)? Someone who seems 1,000% dedicated to the franchise, and not just to the season and the paycheck... Puts the team first...unselfish... Usually someone who started their NFL career here, but free agents can obviously become a "true Redskin" as well...kind of like how Riggins became a Hog even though he wasn't an offensive lineman lol... A player that epidomizes what is best about the Redskins and its history in the fans' eyes...

Curb Feeler
Rock needs to be a little more nasty. Run over a cornerback or kicker once in a while and for God-sakes Danny Smith teach some freaking kick-off and punt return blocking. For all of Danny Smith rah-rah on coverage teams, it seems he tells Cartwright or Betts to run up the back of Sellers and the wedge. I like Rock. He has B-Mitch potential. Danny has to help him out.
