Coaches (that would have been) Worthy of Dan's Attention

D'Pablo

Recommended Posts

Doug Marrone (43) - Offensive Coordinator of the Saints. Has led back-to-back top 5 offenses using rookies and retreads along the O-Line. Has a history of strong O-Lines.

Bob Bratkowski (52) - Offensive Coordinator of the Bengals. Responsible for the development of Carson Palmer and even made Jon Kitna look decent. Has led a top 10 offense for the last three seasons.

Rex Ryan (45) - Defensive Coordinator of the Ravens. Has produced a top 10 D in each of his seasons as a coordinator, including a season with a #1 overall D. Is known for very flexible schemes effectively making the most of his personnel.

Rob Chudzinski (39) - Offensive Coordinator of the Browns. Produced a top 10 O this past season in his first stint as an OC. He made a player out of Derek Anderson. In his time as a TE assistant, is credited with developing Bubba Franks, Jeremy Shockey, Kellon Winslow II, and the almighty Antonio Gates.

I would have welcomed the chance at seeing one of these guys as HC.

Ron Rivera - oversaw one of the NFL’s top defenses in Chicago. The Bears won back-to-back NFC North titles and earned a berth in Super Bowl XLI, thanks in large part to an attacking defense that led the NFL with 44 takeaways in 2006. The Bears finished fifth in the league in total defense and third in scoring defense last season. In 2005, Chicago ranked second in the NFL in total defense and finished sixth in takeaways.

he spent five seasons as Philadelphia’s linebackers coach, where he worked under Jim Johnson, one of the most aggressive defensive coordinators in the NFL.

The only thing is you can only interview so many candidates. Would people be happy if we started interviewing more?

Besides Fassel, everyone we interviewed was fine by the fans. Meeks, Mooch, Spags, Shwartz, Williams. Those are all good candidates, but we decided to choose the one that sucks.

Actually out of all of the candidates that were mentioned, Fassil was the one I liked the least.

Hes an offensive coach who has never lead even a decent offense, he has never strung together winning seasons, and when he does make the playoffs, he loses. Why Dan, why?

That candidate list should read: Everyone not named Fassil.
