OriginalWhizzinator
Only if we can lease/rent his services for the regular season, then dump him for a HC who wont choke in the paloffs. /might be the biggest playoff choker in the history of organized football. TotalRecall
Once Marty caught on to how to play our personal, he looked to be bringing the team around. What are the chances of Marty returning to DC........... None. Snyder burned that bridge a long time ago. OK. Snyder wanted control of player personnel back and Marty didn't want to give it up. So, Snyder called him in on a Sunday evening and rumor has it that he made him wait a long time before he told him he was fired.
Robbnva
Are you sure about that?? Maybe it was in '00 or '02, but I remember him running one for a TD to pass Mitchell, and then Mitchell ran one back the next week. Must have been 2000 because 02 was the beginning of the Betts era
Skins n' Bones
I think bringing back Marty wouldn't be a bad thing, especially if he kept Saunders to run the offense or reunited himself with Cam Cameron, who was his OC in SD and who's offense isn't too far from Saunders'. But do I think it will happen? No way. I want Williams, but someone like Grimm or another experienced NFL assistant would be alright too. Somebody under 55 so we can have some time for them to stick around if they are successful.
cphil006
He refused to change the offense and Jimmy Raye.
cphil006
He's been fired once, I don't think he'll come back. He's up there in age, too.
planter
Marty is good. Probably should have given him more time BUT... I'm hoping that Joe's family talks him out of it. Yeah, I know..it ain't gonna happen. Cowher says he's not ready to return next year. IF true, then Snyder should give G. Williams a shot, let Al continue his work with tenderfoot,Campbell, who's shown real promise. Retain Collins ,who clearly has already got it, and give him a raise. Pick up a pass rusher! Pete
Well there's a little seperation in the poll, but not a heck of a lot. Perplexing isn't it
turbodiesel#44
Marty was a good coach, but he tried to kick Danny's ass and steal the team. He won't be coming back while Snyder is the owner.
bulldog
because of the work in restoring order that Gibbs performed over the past 4 years, Marty in a return would have a LOT easier time than he had the first time, when the club was coming out of the Norv Turner experience this team already works hard and doesn't have nearly as many sacred cows and guys that have to be coddled. once the team releases Brandon Lloyd there won't be any malcontents, either. Samuels
I want Marty back in DC maybe the Dan can strike down his ego and make it happen. I hated Marty at first but the guy had them playing physical after that start were everybody was crying. The was the most physical Redskin team i've seen since JG 1. They just wanted to beat you up whether it was on defense or big country bulling thru people. He had this team on a serious track to doing some damage but Egos got in the way. I think Marty has unfinished business in DC and personally i'd love to see it. And yeah Marty has never won a SB but thier are alot of great coaches and players who never did it. To win a SB everything has to fall into place. Marty will make us a playoff team every year and once your in anything can happen. Marty is also won of the winnest coaches in NFL history flatout the guy knows how to win football games. GW might be a better coach his 2nd go around but its not certain. He is defintely very abrasive i can see that from the outside watching. And we were 30-36 the last 4 years. We had to have 2 miracle type winning streaks to sneak into the playoffs 2 out of those 4 years. We are a team that could win 6 or 10 games depending on a few bounces. But everybody wants continunity for what? what are we holding on to guys seriously 30-36 and 1-2 in the playoffs? If Dan thinks GW is the best canidate in his heart i have no problem with it. But if THE DAN is hiring him just for continuty its a terrible decision likely to set us back. With a guy like Marty you're a annual playoff contender who will likely host playoff games. I like Marty more then Cowher and GW is not even in the same class, guys like Marty woulda won in buffalo especially given 3 years. The guy had us winning with Tony friggen Banks at QB with Gardner at Wr.
4skins23
No! We have our next HC here already. Continuity people! Yup!!! Ernest Byner has my vote for head coach as well.!!!! Go Redskins!
Seabee1973
him  :doh1:Marty cut the team's leading receiver (FB Larry Centers) from 00 because he didn't take off his hat for a team meeting. . The reason he was cut was because he wanted to work out in arizone with his own specialist instead of with the redskins

kingfish50
If it wasn't for his age and the fact that I believe that we have a very competent HC in the wings already, I'd say yes. I always liked Marty and he had this team going in the right direction before he was dismissed so abruptly.
cheeks
PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH GREGG WILLIAMS!!!!! why cant he just be the coach why is everyone looking to go somewhere else i dont understand it at all please someone explain
40Gut
Total contral over Danny and Vinny. that wouldn't be a bad thing if you ask me, to me that would be an upgrade. NoneHe wants total control like Gibbs sort of had and I don't think that Snyder or Gibbs will be willing to give that. I would certainly LOVE to have the guy as a coach, but unfortunately I don't think it will happen.
skinfan4ever
The Skins need to win in the playoffs to get to the Super Bowl don't they?It didn't work out the first time between Snyder and Marty, so why would it now.
