  1. It would be wise for "name keepers" to be respectful to even the angriest (non violent) NA protester. The whole world is watching... not to mention the Owners Committee.
  2. Skins make Mad Magazine's 20 Dumbest moves... https://www.google.com/url?rct=j&sa=t&url=http://www.craveonline.com/sports/articles/796651-mad-magazines-20-dumbest-2014-includes-washington-redskins-name&ct=ga&cd=CAEYACoUMTQ2MTY1NDA4Njc0Mzc0MzAzMDEyGjRjMTM4YzMxMGYyOTExYjM6Y29tOmVuOlVT&usg=AFQjCNFL7NQK-bSLqL3QRYOFNgpFjvkWgA
  3. Like many "name keepers" your post is replete with insults ("nobody takes you seriously", "irrevelant" "beyond skewed") yet you label me a "name caller" and whine when I bite back. I've used the term "troll" once in all my posts so it's hardly my "favorite". Look it up since you're Mr. Fact. Try not to be be intimidated by my intelligence.
  4. I'm not in this debate to do "favors" for NAs. Frankly, some NA arguments are unsupportable (i.e. all NA-related logos are evil) It's about civic duty, conscience, and getting the USA and the Redskins to do the right thing.
  5. Stanford types are known for their brains, while others prefer death by a thousand cuts. https://www.google.com/url?rct=j&sa=t&url=http://www.contracostatimes.com/breaking-news/ci_26994238/name-game-washington-redskins-could-learn-from-stanford&ct=ga&cd=CAEYACoRNjMyOTI3MjMxMTEyMzQxOTYyGjRjMTM4YzMxMGYyOTExYjM6Y29tOmVuOlVT&usg=AFQjCNE_lpmNeFZG6tEovtkifJrCYqQKQA You've been watching too much Fox News.
  6. Protestors at Levi Stadium https://www.google.com/url?rct=j&sa=t&url=http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Protesters-urge-Washington-to-change-the-name-5912789.php&ct=ga&cd=CAEYASoRNjMyOTI3MjMxMTEyMzQxOTYyGjRjMTM4YzMxMGYyOTExYjM6Y29tOmVuOlVT&usg=AFQjCNG-BxgW9rA6ivItSvpVyuWT8unGwQ
  7. It's going to be a long, slow, painful process. The good news is that most of you are used to losing.
  8. Skins make cover of popular national magazine. https://www.google.com/url?rct=j&sa=t&url=http://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2014/11/21/washington-redskins-new-yorker-cover&ct=ga&cd=CAEYACoTNTYzNjU3NjIxNjgxMzg0ODYwNzIaNGMxMzhjMzEwZjI5MTFiMzpjb206ZW46VVM&usg=AFQjCNF0GI-8RUO1ZXVtAFFuPWsM79DSdg
  9. So you saying that people and their opinions vary.Sure there are many NAs who like the 'Skins and/or name but the largest block of NAs either doesn't care or dislike the name. If insignificant numbers of NAs dislike the name, we should keep it.
  10. Most folks probably have historically associated the term "redskin" with the skin tone of the NA. I for instance am a Paleface. Our logo is respectful. I am proud of our logo. It's not a disrespectful caricature. It's on the U.S. nickle for Christ sake ! We don"t let just anybody's face on our $$$$$. If insignificant numbers of NAs are offended by our nickname we should keep it. Otherwise change the name, keep the logo, and fight song(with one word change) HTT?
  11. I NEVER backed the "scalps" or any other definition. Harjo is not the only one to claim that interpretation. My post clearly stated that I'm more than happy to leave the linguistic gymnastics to others. It's NOT about what you think anyway unless you are NA. You and me don't count.
  12. So, you are Man with facts. The Guardian of Truth...and I "have no facts". When asked for examples of Harjo stretching the truth, you cite a linguistic debate? There are MANY opinions on the "origin" "and "connotation" of the term "Redskins". This is not science, there are few indisputable "facts". Pay a linguist $50K and get your favorite opinion. Are we surprised that Harjo selected one of the inflammatory interpetations? Where I break with Harjo, and some NAs: Our logo is NOT disrespectful. And our fight song could be salvaged with a single word change.
  13. Read the article. Origin and connotation of the term "redskin" is not science and debatable. No individual, including Harjo, is considered "the ultimate authority" on the origin of the term.
