Brandon Lloyd Christmas
So Rogers last night spent a good deal of the game pressed up on his man, we got in mcnabbs face forcing bad throws, and we pretty much shut down their passing game aside from the underneath stuff, which we seem content with allowing. Ive always been a huge defender of Rogers, and i hope you guys saw what i saw last night. when he doesnt give that ridiculous cushion, hes a very good physical cornerback. he didnt get beat deep, they even purposely went at him to draw a flag at points, and mcnabb really only threw the deep ball maybe 2 or 3 times. he even admitted after the game that he couldnt throw into the coverage we had, and that makes me feel awesome. but in short, i know people love s***ing on Rogers, but i hope you guys saw what i saw last night. i saw a legit corner on a very good defense. Tulane Skins Fan
And with THIS I agree... I think we've all been wishing he played like that for the last 18 games... it was GREAT to see!
Lead Blocker
You noticed that too
GoCommiesGo
I'm not a huge fan of Rogers and I told my friends that while watching the game. But last night he looked like a legit corner, especially playing press coverage and man to man. If he continues that I'm just going to have to reform my opinion of him. Good game Carlos. Robbnva
Redskins played like that because it worked last week when the packers did it. My question is why did we give it up late in the 3rd quarter and all of the 4th quarter and allowed Mcnabb to scare us like that.
RedskinDan0557
Yeah Rogers is a better when he goes man to man and presses at the line, he is very physical. I think both he and Smoot are better in man to man vs zone. If I recall correctly, in an interview with Smoot, he said that one of the things he didn't like in Min. was the zone coverages they ran. Veretax
He played well, but he got lucky on the one deep route that he and (name escapes me) were double covering down the sideline. If officials in the NFL were c onsistent that would have been PI as it was against Miami :/
Redshu
Carlos had a GREAT game. Bottom line. Their receivers were jammed up and outclassed. He looked like a true no. 1 draft pick last night.
CPortJGibbs89
I have been a fan of Carlos even though he has made some mistakes. But the thing you have to realize is he is still very young and is growing. I hope this is a sign of things to come.
PigSkins47
He had some very good pass break-ups and man coverage. The only thing I saw that I didn't like was when he jumped too late and let one of mcnugget's passes go through his hands to the receiver. To his credit, though, it was a bullet. Other than that, keep up the good work CR
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
all i know is when that dude presses up, its a nightmare for receivers. hes such a physical guy, and it showed again last night. and he was SO CLOSE to getting that pick, many cries were had. landry too! DB44
I'll just say Nice game #22. Thats some of the best man-to-man coverage I've seen from him. Keep it up!

UnKle RUku$
I was a big critic of Carlos with the 8 yard cushion and dropped balls but Carlos played a helleva game last night PERIOD!!! He finally I think is getting it, he stopped dancing and started making plays. He played well last week too, but last night he was a BEAST. Best game of Career for me! Brandon Lloyd Christmas
anybody notice how much better rogers looked when we were getting in mcnabbs face? thoughts?
STaylor2136
anybody notice how much better rogers looked when we were getting in mcnabbs face? thoughts? tea but thats a given. Pressure on the QB= Forced throws and smaller thrwoing lanes. Plus Los didnt let anyone get of the line most of the night. He can play well its just that the gameplan needs o benefit what he is good at more than something that he doesnt do to well(playing off).
dieselfan44
The secondary was leaps and bounds better....Carlos played one of the best games that I have seen him play. Hopefully Springs is now 100% and will be the consistent starter.

Not to piss on your parade or anything like that, but he wasn't exactly covering Randy Moss. We need to be careful who we allow #22 to press. Because from the looks of things, Kevin Curtis had a step on him running down the field. What will it be like against TO or Moss?

No doubt that with TO or Moss that he'd have a safety on top, but that might be true even if Springs was covering him. You generally don't leave receivers like that single covered, especially with all the advantages the offensive player gets in the NFL. sknsrbck26
Yes, that is exactly right, less cushion= better rogers, they need to implement this for every game.
dreamshatterer
Awesome game by #22. I wonder if Greg Williams wll have him do more pree coverage from here on out.

How about I just say... "any receiver better than Kevin Curtis" and "any QB more accurate with the deep ball than DM" Which right now, is about 90% of the starters in the NFL. ..... Siven
Carlos is pretty strongfor a corner, he needs to use that strength where it' can help him, doing bump and run.

Actually, it would have had to have been a perfect pass for him to catch it, since Rogers was in his hip pocket. It was pretty decent coverage.
