Griff
I found this on Cards message board, take it for what its worth: Posted by BostonCard: I visit a site called nflfans.com on their messageboard there are a few guys who have real inside info , some of them work for Sporting News this was posted by a guy who i know for a fact has contacts with the Bills, Cowboys, and Browns so here you go. His screen name is SDOGO and he is very reliable , breaks a lot of news . Here is the post: Spoke to Leonards agent just about 5 minutes ago. The huge OT has contract offers from Dallas, NY Giants and Redskins. As I'm told the Giants have the best offer but Davis is not thrilled about playing for Coughlin or in NY, the Skins have a fair deal on the table and the Cowboys deal is sweet and Daivs would like to return to Texas and play in a warm weather city but Dallas wants him to kick inside to guard which diminishes his value. http://forums.azcardinals.com/showthread.php?t=19505

Brandon Lloyd Christmas
why on earth would we have an offer to an OT when we have two good ones?
DonMagicJuan
wait, dont we want him to play guard also? that makes no sense...
RWJ
Well, we are wanting him to play guard so I guess it's between Dallas and NY. NY has the best deal on the table and he wants to go back home to TX. You guys figure it out.
Kurd Cudins
I would imagine that the skins also want to put him at guard, so if the boys have a better offer he'll end up there. I always heard this guy was a lazy underacheiver so it greatly suprises me that we're interested in him.

dfbovey
why on earth would we have an offer to an OT when we have two good ones? Because he would be playing guard.
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
Unless they want Jansen to move in. and that scares me a lot. this leonard guy is supposedly a lazy b**** and jansen switching to guard isnt like flipping a light switch. if our o-line ends up struggling, were in for a loooooooooooooooooooong year. DeMarco Murray 29
If he plays Guard [[Which he did at Texas]] he can be good. But at Tackle ... No thank you!
Warpath81
Because he would be playing guard. But the reason he isn't thrilled with Dallas is because they want him to play guard....
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
Because he would be playing guard. but he already scoffed at the giants for asking him to do the same thing, so why didnt he scoff at us?
Fred Jones
wait, dont we want him to play guard also? that makes no sense... I agree it doesn't make sense. Samuels is not moving. So, Jansen would have to move to LG or move to RG and move Thomas to LG. Maybe they just don't have all the facts.
Hooper
Just avoid this guy if he wants anything near what Dockery wants.
Califan007 The Constipated
Wait, when this guy says that Dallas wanting him to play guard "diminishes his value", is he saying that the value of signing with Dallas has diminished in Davis' eyes, or that since they want him as a guard it diminishes the size of Dallas' offer to him?
dfbovey
But the reason he isn't thrilled with Dallas is because they want him to play guard.... He'd be playing guard here if he is signed. Same as Dallas. And the only reason he isn't thrilled is because the position usually pays less.
CalSkinsFan
If he really doesn't want to play G, I'm betting Davis is using the Redskins as a negotiating tool. Everyone knows the 'Skins reputation for spending lavishly on free agents, so he is using us to get the most out of NY or Dallass. Obviously, being division rivals may put even more pressure on those other teams to up their offers.

Probably that it affects the offer.......Tackles on average make alot more then guards.
dfbovey
Or because they would move Jansen to guard? To me, it's funny that people would jump to that conclusion based off the information in this thread. No. Davis would be signed to replace Dockery as LG if it happens. Califan007 The Constipated
Probably that it affects the offer.......Tackles on average make alot more then guards. Hmm...if that's the case (and it reads as if it probably is), then did Davis ever say that he does not want to play guard, or that the prospect of doing so would keep him from signing somewhere? Hooper
Just let the underachieving lard go to Dallas. This would be a terrible signing.

Nothing to do with this thread. Jansen is slowing down and is three years older than Davis. Just speculation on a possibility.
