Reic
If he got stats in RL like I can give him in Madden then yeah
philal0102
Why would he be the class of 2009 when you have to be retired atleast 5 years to be eligable.... It doesnt make sense.... This is stupid... But watch, he makes it in and Monk doesnt... It would be very interesting to see all of the threads on that one.
shsu1
If he wins a superbowl. I'm sure that's the only reason he's in the HOF in Madden because he probably won one in a simulated season. And when Madden says Class of 2009, they mean he retired that year.
Phixius
What kind of people are working at EA. Didnt notice it was the class of 2009. How could I miss that? EDIT - ^^ What you said may be true.
LoudMouth12thMan
Not an expert on HOF numbers but Brunell doesn't strike me as someone with HOF potential based on my little knowledge about the criteria. I still think Mark is a great guy and a solid qb (in the past), but he doesn't get in right now IMO... HTTR
worstSeat
Kurt Warner? Drew Bledsoe? Trent Green? What, you can buy your way in [using Xbox rules] now? You know, that said, if Brad Johnson can do anything with the Vikes in the next season or two, he'll deserve some sort of consideration or honorable mention. All people ever say is that he's not good enough, and all he's ever done, team after team, is win. But, um, as you say, 2006 ain't happening, Brad. Interesting that it adds Friedman in 2005. That's a neat touch.

s0crates
http://profootballhof.com/history/release.jsp?release_id=1264 Historically, Brunell is in good company. He is in the top 20 all-time in passer rating and completions. By the end of the season, he will also be in the top 20 in passing yards. That might not be enough to get him in the hall, but he is worthy of consideration. If he could just win a Super Bowl . . .
Tastes Like Chicken
Unfortunately, it's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of SuperSmart, Courageous, Fight Your Guts Out. If Mark Brunell wins a Super Bowl, I will sing 'Hail to the Redskins' to his bust in Canton.
SkinsTillIDie
Seeing at how much the media makes fun of him and how little they think of him, I strongly doubt that they will vote him in x years down the line
Aluadan
Zero chance Brunell gets into the HoF.
VegunN
I agree with homeboy up there, ( too lazy to scroll back up or quote). But if by some chance, psh, he were to win an SB then I don't see why not, the numbers are there, just, not ring. It'd be cool though, I guess. str8jacket
Brunell and Bledsoe both are statistically pretty good. Despite the current situation both were leaders and very good qbs for a long time and both made pro bowls. I think they could be in there but it might take a while if it happens at all. I mean when you think about it 250 players or so are in the hof. Thats roughly around 5 football teams. And considering 32 teams a year your chances are slim. And damn them for not making Art Monk a first ballot hofer, but put in lynn swann with his measly 5000 yards. I know they want old timers in and stuff, but if that's the case they need to allow one or two more to be inducted every year instead of leaving the great players out. They need to take one year and just put in Redskins.

SkinsFTW
Brunell makes it after Theismann does. He also makes it after QB's like Ken Anderson, Bert Jones, Boomer Esiason, Dave Krieg, Jim Everett, Randel Cunningham do. Brunell has spent an entire career relient on a ball control offense with great receivers.
panel
Nither him, Brad Johnson, or Drew Bledsoe belong in the hall. And maybe not trent Green either.
SkinsFTW
Trent Green would be a first ballot HOFer before Brunell and Theismann would be way ahead of Brunell on the list. BTW, Trent Green isn't even close to HOF worthy.

TriangleSkinsFan
If for some strange reason the skins were to win a SB with Brunell then he would definitely go in. Winning the big one with 2 different teams hasn't happened so that would put him in. That being said though. This is most likely his last year as the starter and the Skins aren't going to win the SB this year so the chances of MB going into the HOF are about aero. Plus his "prevent offense" style of play since he came to DC would hurt his chances considerably.

Plus his "prevent offense" style of play since he came to DC would hurt his chances considerably. When did Brunell ever win his first one? Mark Brunell is not a hall of fame quarterback. His numbers are a product of the time he played and certainly in the 5 or 6 years that he'd have to wait, his career rankings would drop as other QBs pass him. The you add the fact that he's been a marginal starter for most of this decade, there is simply no way anyone could make a case for him. The only chance he would have had would have been if he could have somehow gotten a career rebirth (ala Rich Gannon) and put up some huge numbers while leading the Skins to the playoffs year after year and maybe getting to a Super Bowl. If he had done something like that, his name would have to be considered. No, the only Hall of Fame in Brunell's future will be the "Ring of Fame" (if they have one) in Jacksonville. He put that franchise on the map back in the 90's.
