To be honest I didn't mind this.

After the Cyborg fight, I don't want to see her get punched in the face any more.... :)

True enough. Those lips have a much better use than being punched...

I meant kissing you pervs :silly:

It's been so long I almost forgot about the Strikeforce HWGP picks. Did anyone have a correct pick in the first two quarterfinal matches? Those were two pretty big upsets.

I had Sergei by ko I think first round, but I had Fedor winning it all :(

i'm having trouble finding a single area that Rampage has the advantage

Rampage can still KO anyone imo, people just don't let him get that close anymore, but Bones can punish his opponents harder and faster than Rampage. Bones has 3 inches in height and THIRTEEN inches in reach on Rampage, there is no way Jackson is getting within a foot of Jon Jones without getting hit, and that's just the punches and not counting kicks and knees.

With Bones' reach advantage I'm not so sure. This is a bad matchup for Page. At least we know he'll be motivated... by fear.

Edit- And for the record I'm rooting hard for Quentin.

Reem still has to show some sub defense to get me to believe he is the best in the world.

And a chin. Honestly, he hasn't beaten anyone in Strikeforce that really impresses me. Therefore, Reem has yet to really impress me.

(Admittedly I didn't see him in the K-1 tourney.)

Overeem's chin seems like it has gotten better. Is it because of the horse meat around his jawline? Improved striking defense? Maybe a little of both. His chin always stays tucked and his guard is always great to watch. It has to be daunting seeing big ass Overeem with the equivalent of a football facemask on, backing you in to the ropes and loading up with power. Knowing that if you duck, those fight changing knees are waiting to lift off.

The exception to all this is if Werdum can clinch and trip The Reem, then **** gets real. Be sure that Werdum has been working on a few trips religiously. Or maybe he could just fake being hurt again and lure Overeem in to a trap?

I think Werdum will be in that mode where BJJ specialists shoot for sloppy takedowns then roll on to their backs for safety. I see the ref saying "stand up" a lot in this fight, but it's probably the best strategy for Werdum. I'll bet on Reem landing something big before Werdum can get it to the ground.

LOL NO

First round Werdum he gonna toy with his son in the standup. 2nd round Werdum gonna take his son down at will just to stand up again to show how much superior he is. 3rd round Werdum finally takes some pity and takes Overeem down passes mounts transititions to the back and wins by mata leao.

:rotflmao:

Werdum just beat Fedor and Antonio Silva...he hung in there with Silva from what I remember, traded bombs with him (I'll watch that fight again later). He is crafty and has a lot of confidence in his skills, Overeem is just an absolute destroyer. The key is in the Werdum takedowns, can he get inside and avoid shots in the clinch? Failed takedowns from Werdum are no bueno. Like I said, I see a lot of rolling on to his back if he doesn't get his takedowns.

Will Werdum go all K-1 on us? Not likely, even testing those waters could spell disaster.

After reading the analysis of all you MMA fans and the internet hype on this fight, I'm gonna offer my ultimate bet-hedge. If Fab makes it out of the 1st round, he wins this fight either by sub or by UD. I think this is where we find out if Reem ever really improved his stamina, which has always been one of the bigger knocks on his career.
