For the best. The NFL will make sure we play DAL at the same time as the PHI/NY game and DAL will have every incentive to throttle us. -

I dunno bout' all that. Many teams show very clearly how high run rate O's can still translate to scoring success. Ravens, Lions, and 9ers are some of the heaviest rushing teams in the NFL and they are all top 5 in scoring. They have each absolutely put it on good teams as well. and its not like the highest % passing teams don't have difficulty scoring. Us... The Jets... The Bengals... Eww... -

2024 NFL Draft Position/Tracker - Final Pick #2
FootballZombie replied to zCommander's topic in The Stadium
Jacoby has been the back up all year, pressed into rapid action twice the last two weeks and probably saw a dramatic increase in his practice participation. That's like a recipe for a soft tissue injury. I don't think he is pulling himself any more than I think Harris "volen-told" Ron to make sure he does not play. Just another baseless rumor of the day. -
2024 NFL Draft Position/Tracker - Final Pick #2

Even the idea of considering dead cap hits the likes of some of the ones being thrown around would have been inconceivable even a couple of years ago. Teams seem more willing and open than ever to take on some absolutely absurd hits. -
I'll worry more about that when given a reason to worry. It will be a brand new front office, coaching staff and owner to boot. They don't get dinged for previous administrations failure to create a environment where a young QB can thrive. We may even go out and build a staff with guys who have a proven record of developing QBs if we are really confident that we are gonna draft one. Then it might be a strength. As of right now, the hypothetical new staff has not proven they can develop a new QB, but they also have not shown an inability to do so either. We can't just assume it will be a massive problem before they even start.

2024 NFL Draft Position/Tracker - Final Pick #2

Going into the offseason behind CHI, ARIZ and NE would be a disaster as taking a QB would be at least in play for all 3. We need that #2 or #3 pick something fierce. It will be the difference between the next administration being desperate for a QB and easily able to be taken advantage of, or being relaxed and able to make more responsible QB and team/FO decisions b/c at the end of the day you know you got a guy in your back pocket and you only have to move away from that if you view an emerging situation as more favorable. If we pick 4th we are in prime territory to do something stupid/forced. -
Bleh... Yeah, he had a bunch of bad ones. I'm about a big an RG3 stan as they come but I had no argument for how bad his sliding was. I gotta imagine, if you don't have the ability to smoothly slide, then your not gonna be too jazzed or motivated to incorporate it regularly. Griff risked injury every time he went down, let alone when he got hit. But as @Rogue Jedi said stuff like sliding form and the mindset to get down is very teachable. I just wanna see us make it a priority w/ a guy like Daniels. Howell is a good runner. His legs could have been a much bigger weapon, but he never showed the consistent ability to protect himself. As a result his running skill is not good enough that you can force him to use it as an asset. The tradeoff simply was not worth it. There is no doubt in my mind Howell could rip off chunk yards almost in a Daniel Jones kinda way, but it would have came at monumental cost. That is probably not the case for Daniels. He is a special runner. So no matter what, his legs will probably be utilized. There is almost no cost too great to not utilize his ability. Protecting himself will be vital.

I love what I see from Daniels running ability in highlights, but it would be mandatory that he develops a Lamar or Mahomie level ability to finish runs by minimizing damage and not by going until someone brings him down. If he gets that down he can probably be a top 3-4 QB in rushing yards easy. If we go that direction I would love to bring an MLB slide coach too, even if just to illustrates the organization's mindset to the player. I wouldn't even be upset w/ the Jason Campbell Slip n' Slide. Whatever you gotta do. Griff's sliding form was so bad could not reliably mechanically slide at full speed w/o hurting himself so he instead slowed down and fell backwards or forego'd sliding all together. I never want to see that be a problem again. 100% avoidable.

Do a flip. lol Merry Xmas all

I think the best metaphor I can describe for his offensive design would be: EB was given a Lego skyscraper set. He said, "F this, Eric Bieniemy likes Pirate Ships" and used the pieces from said Lego set to build a ship. Now he is wondering why his boat does not float all that great. Just a criminal misuse of assets and inability or lack of desire to put his players in their best possible position to succeed. The humble pie he is facing as a result was inevitable b/c you simply can't operate this way outside of college when you can have the overwhelming skill level advantage. And that's before you get into the lack of adjustments to tailor your efforts to account for the strengths/weaknesses of opponents.

Merry Christmas, Happy Festifus to all Stadium Afficionados!

Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays! Have fun out there. We in a good spot for the future regardless of the present. -
Oh, we should all be rooting for these culture changing wins. They are invaluable. Even tho a ton of the players on the roster now are not gonna be here much longer... And the coaching staff is about to flip over... And the FO is about to be run by new people... and there is no hope of going to the playoffs... Getting some feel good tingling in the toes for the current staff means nothing when they are all on out out. Our draft slotting on the other hand is very impactful. Every fan can watch the game however they want, but there is no way you can believe Rivy getting a dub after he has benched the one player who was being platformed as a possible future asset has some kind of positive long term impact on the franchise.
