  1. He was in Krull. Semi-main character too, IIRC. RIP ✊🏽❤️
  2. Finished Bear on Hulu. Loved the chemistry between Lip and the sous chef he hired. Overall a very likeable group of characters and a low stress, warm story. The dinner service scenes were very well done and were basically food p0rn. I'd like another season but the ending was perfect if not. We binged S5 of Showtime's The Chi last week. Really good show. Not sure why TV connoisseurs who loved The Wire aren't watching this. It's basically a Wire reboot, cops vs drug Lords on the Southside of Chicago. Five seasons in and The Chi is still holding strong at 87% on rotten. Shout-out to the ES'ers that recommended Severance 👍🏽. Entire cast was excellent! I'm so used to Adam Scott being type-cast as a douche, it was fun rooting for him for a change. Wild theory here, but just going on record so I can say I called it if things go bonkers next season:
  3. The new Jurassic Park. JFC, what a steaming pile of triceratops ****. My expectations were quite low and yet it still managed to disappoint. One of the worst movies I've seen in a while.
  4. Air holes for the pet caterpillar. Noice 👍🏽
  5. My parents live in Venice, they're preparing for a direct hit. They've got hurricane shutters/windows & doors, nor are they in a flood zone. They should be okay, but fingers crossed.
  6. Edibles, my friends! Much more intense high, the buzz lasts a lot longer, and zero damage to your lungs.
  7. Moonfall. Dear God, this was one of the worst movies I've seen in a really long time. It was awful. Absolute dumpster juice. Pacing, writing, acting...just terrible. Razzie nominee for sure. The Independence Day sequel was better than this. And yet my wife and I were somehow incredibly entertained. We were pretty stoned, though. We laughed out loud, really loudly, at the end of every scene because it was just so awful. And just when you think the movie can't get any worse, it gets much worse. Which led to more laughter. Both the critic and audience consensus on rotten is pretty much where I'm at on it:
  8. Massive issues with the yahoo fantasy app last night for a draft. The chat/live view showed me as "13 picks" away from my next pick, mean while it was my turn to draft 🤦🏾‍♂️. The system ended up auto-picking for me 5 times in the first 9 rounds. App kept freezing. The little "on the clock" chime didn't even go off, and i had my volume all the way up. Been using Yahoo fantasy app for at least 6 years, never had any problems whatsoever before last night. Thankfully, it's the only non-money league I play in, so I'm not super annoyed. But this is probably the worst fantasy team I've ever fielded Thanks for reading my rant. **** everybody. 🙂
  9. 10 episodes total, released weekly. Ep 3 dropped yesterday. It's a slow burn type of show, but the tension is building. Gleeson does subtle crazy really well.
  10. The Patient, on FX/Hulu. Steve Carell is a therapist who gets assaulted and kidnapped by a serial killer (Domhnall Gleezy) and wakes up chained to a bed in a basement. Killer wants therapy with Carell to stop killing people. It's kind of a suspense thriller and I'm really liking it so far. Carell is a really funny guy but I love him in serious roles like this.
  11. I went to middle school and high school with him. He was a chill dude, we'd talk about Wu-Tang in Phys Ed. I'm not sure what happened to him in his adult life, but he was not like this when we were teens.
  12. My son got lit up on Friday, received his first COVID vaccine in the leg and two other shots in the arm. He ate 'em all up, barely even flinched. The doc was like "oh wow, aren't you a tough little guy!" Then she turned to look at me and said "he's definitely our best patient today" and the nurse laughed and cosigned about how they'd had some real screamers earlier so my son was a nice way to end the day. I tried my best to play it cool, but internally I was like
  13. Preach that gospel, man. It's all bull****. It's funny...I used to eat that stuff up when I was still a kid. I was 23 when I got out back in 2005, and this was back when "support our troops" was still a really big thing in society. I felt so cool showing my veteran ID to get discounts and for employees to respond with "thank you for your service." But as I got older and had a much better understanding of the politics within the military (and how the world works in general), I've since realized that it's all just bull****. I'm proud to have worn the uniform for my country, it was an honor that I take very seriously. But I will forbid my son from military service. PS -- the VA is a ****ing embarrassment, a national disgrace. Our brothers & sisters deserve so much better.
  14. Is there a "tell a really interesting or crazy story/experience of yours" thread? If not, someone should start one.
  15. I passed out during a deadlifting PR attempt a few months ago. Later that day I legit thought to myself "I hope Doc would be proud of me" LOL
