  1. If the season is over by the bye week, and that is a very real possibility, there is absolutely no reason to not play Kyle Allen at that point. They got Fitzpatrick, which IMO was nothing to get excited over, because they needed another quarterback on the roster. Heinicke's injury history and lack of experience were factors in that decision. Not to mention that Kyle Allen, the guy that was the starter before he got hurt, was still rehabbing his injury.
  2. At this point, of Heinicke's ceiling is a hot/cold type of quarterback, there is zero reason to play Fitzpatrick...because Heinicke is essentially a younger, more mobile Fitzpatrick. And you would play Kyle Allen to see if he is better than that.
  3. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/executives/SnydDa0.htm Look at this clown's record since he's been the owner. Every 5 to 6 years there's a false sense of "hope" with a 10-6 season, and then it's back to mediocrity or awfulness. 16 years since a playoff win. It's going to be a decade since this team has had double digit wins. I hate that I am a fan of this team.
  4. Rivera just threw cold water on the benching of Heinicke just now.
  5. Maybe he was somewhere dancing? https://twitter.com/andrewcgolden/status/1420783398533140484?s=20
  6. Although in fairness to Heinicke, in both of our wins, he was one of the main reasons why we won those games. This team isn't good enough to carry a "meh" quarterback.
  7. His leash should be halftime at the Packers game if the poor play continues. Kyle Allen ain't the guy, but we need to see which QB we are going to keep as the stopgap/backup for the next few years.
  8. That garbage time stat padder has had back to back game winning drives.
  9. No, he wouldn't. We would lose the game 45-3 and he'd have a press conference about how proud he was of the turnout for ST. "Winning off the field" > "Wow, you guys actually wanted to be here for ST?"
  10. Bruce Allen is a garbage human being, but I can 100% assure you that he never would have uttered or typed the following about Sean Taylor's jersey retirement: "We didn't realize that so many of you wanted to make a trip to FedExField to be present for this moment"
  11. ^ This is the clown who is in charge of the new name. Let that sink in. I was going to type some long message about how angry I am about this, and how every fan should have the same level of anger...but then I realized there are probably thousands of fans who are simply just 'meh' about it...because they are used to it at this point. There has been 20+ years of the same ineptitude. People thinking that hiring someone who has a nice smile and writes "briefs" who is "transparent" to be the team President, and a coach who lamented winning the division last year is somehow going to be the turning point that turns this franchise in the right direction are in for a rude awakening. Maybe this is the thing that opens there eyes.
  12. If Heinicke's ceiling is a younger, more mobile Fitzpatrick...why would you ever play Fitzpatrick again (aside from injury)? Kyle Allen, the guy who looked the best out of all of the quarterbacks last season (sans Heinicke's playoff game), would be the guy to go to if Heinicke continues to struggle. No, I do not think Allen is the long term guy. But he could be the answer at backup. IMO, that is what this season is going to figure out. Is Allen or Heinicke going to be the longterm backup/stopgap starter going forward?
  13. Assuming Heinicke is healthy for the season, and assuming that Fitzpatrick is cleared to return after the bye...how many games during this 4 game stretch does Heinicke need to perform relatively well in to remain the starter for the season? I'd say three, unless there is a total implosion and meltdown.
  14. I don't think he's a backup. I also am not convinced he's a bonafide starter just yet. At this point, his floor, IMO, is a starter on a bad team. As for Minshew, he apparently lied about an injury, which is why he fell out of favor with the Jags in 2020. Minshew, IMO, is in the "starter on a bad team" territory. In fact, I wanted Washington to trade for him in the offseason.
  15. If Heinicke was "just a backup", you would think he would have played like Chase Daniel, Ryan Finley, Nick Mullens, or any other backup in this league that gets a chance when a starter goes down and their play shows you exactly why they are a backup. Heinicke's play (and his numbers) do not strike me as a guy who is "just a backup". Granted, he could fall completely off of a cliff, but I don't see that happening at all. He already showed his guts in the playoff game. The largest concern with him, IMO, is health.
  16. Alex Smith never won a game where the opposing team scored more than 17 points, so we would be 0-4 with him. There is no way in hell this team is 3-1 with Fitzpatrick as the starter.
  17. Del Rio isn't the one blatantly missing tackles and getting burned in the secondary.
  18. Does anyone realistically think this team is 2-2 with Fitzpatrick? Alex Smith? Kyle Allen?
  19. 19th in total yards per game. 22nd in passing yards per game. 21st in rushing yards per game. 21st in points per game. Meanwhile, the defense is 31st in total yards per game. 29th in passing yards per game. 26th in rushing yards per game. 28th in points allowed per game. The offense is not good, but it is by no means "the league's worst offense". You could make the argument that the defense overall is, however.
