  1. I would not be shocked if Ryan Fitzpatrick is the starter come week 1. I will absolutely be shocked if he were to start every game this season, and that is assuming he is healthy all year.
  2. I'm not all in on Heinicke. His durability is a huge red flag and an issue. But I'm not at all sold on Fitzpatrick. He's 38 years old, and we are currently at the "get paid" part of the cycle. And it has nothing to do with me rooting for the "scrappy underdog", but I still think Kyle Allen is the wildcard in all of this just because of his relationship with Rivera and Turner. But if you could guarantee Heinicke's health, he would definitely be the starter for me on week 1. Fitzpatrick was, IMO, a low risk medium reward type of signing. Which was cheap. And I have no issues w
  3. It's a breath of fresh air compared to the other people who are treating a cicada landing on Fitzpatrick's beard second to Neil Armstrong's one giant leap for mankind.
  4. I think his take is the correct one. You start Heinicke to see what you have in him and if he gets hurt or plays poorly you can end the experiment early and insert one of the other quarterbacks.
  5. https://richmond.com/sports/professional/washington-football-observations-too-many-wrs-not-enough-spots-and-will-there-be-a-true/article_a44b96c5-80a6-5d3c-9ede-176f25af3f49.html Taylor Heinicke outplayed Ryan Fitzpatrick throughout the week, and once again, Rivera promised competition at training camp. Hopefully Rivera is actually going to be true to his word and not hand the job over to Fitzpatrick.
  6. I feel like Kyle Allen is getting totally lost in this QB "controversy". He was the best quarterback on the roster last season up until his injury. All of this stuff is going to heighten during the preseason when they actually start playing and Fitztragic inevitably shows up.
  7. Again...if you bothered to read the lawsuits, they are all seeking the minimum amount required ($500) to bring these suits to court.
  8. If you have 15 different people, all unknown to each other, all of the same profession, all accusing the same person of some sick behavior, where there is smoke, there is fire. I'm not sitting on a jury, so I don't have to convict him in a court of law, but I believe these women. As for why these are civil cases and not criminal, remember that the Cosby cases all started out as civil cases. Criminal cases of sexual assault are much harder to prove, however, when more and more of the civil cases are filed that opens the door for criminal charges to be filed.
  9. If you actually read the lawsuits, several of them did remove themselves immediately after the creep exposed himself. And many of them refused his offer to "do more" for more money.
  10. We are now over 15 women who have come forward...almost all of them with the same story of him moving his body to make them touch his penis, but somehow they don't add up?

  12. Here are Fizpatrick's numbers from each of his stints (where he played more than one year): Buffalo: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/F/FitzRy00.htm#2009-2012-sum:passing 59.8 % Completion 3390 Yards 23 Touchdowns 19 Interceptions 28 Sacks 6.0 AY/A 79.8 Passer Rating New York: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/F/FitzRy00.htm#2015-2016-sum:passing 58.3 % Completion 3528 Yards 23 Touchdowns 17 Interceptions 20 Sacks 6.3 AY/A 80.3 Passer Rating Tampa: https://www.pro-footbal
  13. For a team which is supposed to be built on the quarterback who manages the game and lets the defense and running game carry the team to wins, I'm confused how a gunslinger (with an abysmal record as a starter) is somehow supposed to instill confidence for next year. This has the potential to be the 2011 season all over again.
  14. They both average near identical yards stretched out over a 16 game stretch going back to 2014. Both very similar AY/A, passer ratings, and the main difference is Fitzpatrick averaged 5 more touchdowns and 7 more interceptions than Smith. Yes, Fitzpatrick isn't as conservative as Alex, but he's also not someone who you can trust when a playoff game is on the line. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhrzPFmfYu0&t=95s&ab_channel=NFL&t=1m35s
  15. I do not like this move. At all. The memes of Fitzmagic are fun, but I don't think they'll be quite as fun when Fitztragic shows up. I am old enough to remember the game against Washington in 2018 when he threw for over 400 yards and netted 3 total points on offense. He's an older Alex Smith with more turnovers. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/F/FitzRy00.htm#2013-2020-sum:passing https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SmitAl03.htm#2005-2010-sum:passing
  16. Seems really crazy that they would just randomly make this up as some sort of publicity stunt...I cannot fathom that they would do that for something this serious. Even with the NFL's denial, I still don't believe this was randomly made up out of thin air. They had to see something.
  17. They went to a Superbowl with Kaep, and he won more playoff games than Smith ever did.
  18. *Playoffs not included. And both organizations who shoved him out the door got better and went farther than Smith ever could take them.
  19. Minshew for Smith is a trade that I would take in a heartbeat. I know it's not going to happen, but it's still something that I think would benefit both teams.
  20. This team, going back to 2018, won a game when the opposition scored more than 17 points once and Alex wasn't the quarterback. This defense & AP carried the team for the first 10 weeks of 2018. This defense carried this team for the second half of 2020. This was proven when a guy signed off of the street looked better than the 36 year old veteran did in any of his starts.
  21. The defense would like a word, considering Alex Smith never won a game when the defense gave up more than 17 points...2018 included. And then there was that whole thing about having to play Ryan Finlay, Nate Sudfeld, Nick Mullens, and Andy Dalton that didn't hurt either.
