  1. The mariota-London connection is non-existent. if there’s a game on the calendar which we could afford some injuries to the secondary it’s this one. that said, the falcons are definitely not the Texans and theyre right in the thick of the playoff hunt. A win here would be bigger than most would give us credit for.
  2. What a ****ing win. I was fully prepared to lose and just prayed that we’d play respectably… We dominated TOP and kept the eagles offense off the field. When our D looked brutal early on I kept saying a big part of it was the offense was a 3&out machine. I really struggle to give credit to turner but if he came up with this gameplan because he knew the eagles were weak vs the run then fine, kudos. That said, I wish we had more than “run up the gut.” Run it outside once in a while, run a handful of RPO, try to keep the defense guessing. I don’t mind the run first gameplan, but boy this would be ugly if we faced a stout front. As many of u probably did, I took immense joy in watching eagles fan reactions… obviously all of the chatter was about the reffing. Over the whole of the game, I’d say it was pretty damn even. The hold on the opening kickoff, the DPI on st juste, the OPI pick play which is flagged once per year… the face mask was bad, but the hit on the heiny kneel was correct. Graham had a good 5 steps to pull up and just touch heiny. Sure he didn’t aim for decapitation, but in 2022, that has to be a flag every time. hats off to slye, when was the last time the kicker affected the game that much for us?! (In a positive way) the other factor in the TOP domination was the mounting frustration on the eagles sideline. Some, if not all of their mistakes in the 4th could be attributed to them trying to do too much from being on tilt. heiny was a hero. Sure he floated one and sure he threw a bad pick, but he made so many clutch reads and tosses that it more than makes up for it. As long as he throws with anticipation he can make up for his weak arm strength. The guys clearly love him, it’s fun again to watch this team compete and a lot is attributed to… the MOXIE longest post of my life. Cheers homies and homettes, what a time to be a fan of this team.
  3. Keeeeep trashing heinicke for sailing a ball or two a game. He’s playing really well so far. scott, I hate u and I won’t say this very often, but u keep pounding the rock.
  4. Why aren’t we running any rpo? Heiny is an athlete. As we saw with RG and Alf the deception of rpo can turn average into special. Obviously the ceiling is lower here, but this would be effective. I just really don’t like turner. He doesn’t scheme to our strengths or understand that our OL is trash. as bad as this loss stung, the thought that one day in the next few months we’ll have a new owner washes it all away.
  5. @MIB__KEVINthe problem is you came in here with an opinion that would only make sense to a child. “Owners pay the players, snyders not the one throwing the ball, etc.” your lack of comprehension that the trickle down effect of having the biggest scumbag owner in sports turned this once proud, celebrated franchise into a laughing stock is why everyone’s coming down on you. Either you’re a fan who’s head is buried in the sand, you just don’t get it, or you’re a troll. For your sake, I hope it’s the latter.
  6. I’ll never forget fitzpatricks comments before week 1 last year regarding how tough to digest Turners playbook was and it was unlike anything he’d seen. Terrible paraphrasing, but for a Harvard grad to be saying something along those lines made me worry. I was happy to get wentz, but fitzs comment stuck with me and tempered my expectations. add on all of the aspects that u more knowledgeable football fanatics are saying about dropbacks and hitches and I find it impossible to believe there’s any success to be had with turner. I’ve been calling for him to be fired since his first offseason. He shows flashes and uses guys correctly from time to time, but he’s had long enough to turn the corner.
  7. I’ve been saying it since I watched the all22 of the jags game but jamin is really good when blitzing and should be used in that fashion more. I’m not saying anything like Micah where he has his hand in the dirt, but scheme him to rush often. Use 3 down linemen and send him from everywhere. And don’t ask him to cover Christian Kirk! No ILBs aside from maybe devin white could hang with him from the slot.
  8. Man I wish this OL didn’t blow balls. Wentz is seeing ghosts and I don’t blame him, the OL is a sieve and he can’t trust them. aiden Hutchinson has .5 tackles in the two games beside this one. The eagles whole DL just feasted in a way I can’t recall ever seeing before. I blame the OL and I blame Turner for our offensive woes, which in turn bleed into defensive woes because they’re on the field the whole game. Give wentz a clean pocket and I think this is a pretty good team. Turner ****ing figure it out.
  9. I said it last week and I’ll say it again, this D is nowhere near as bad as it seems. they were on the field the entire first half with recoup time amounting essentially to a few water breaks. In both games they had big stands to start the game, were put on short fields and were just dying for some momentum from the offense. Anyone who has played the sport, or pretty much any sport at all, can understand the adversity they faced was almost impossible to overcome… especially against some very good offenses. these losses are all on the offense. If they could have controlled some clock in the first half and heaven forbid put up a non-goose egg, who knows how these games would have played out. turner and our OL need to be addressed before anything on defense.
  10. This is on Turner. It was last week and it is again. This would be a decent game if our offense was t a 3-&-out fest.
  11. I have a really ****ty feeling I know who will be #1 on that list after sunday… that said, very nice to see us in a respectable position up there.
  12. We need to use jamin like Micah is being used. He’s actually a very good blitzer, which makes sense; it takes the thinking out of it and just relies on his freakish speed & strength. The problem is that the unit as a whole just isn’t working. At all. I don’t know if firing JDR now is the answer, but if we get our doors blown off by the eagles at home then I have to think it’s on the table.
  13. I’m not putting a ton of weight into the eagles MNF game or the Motown beat down. Kirk on primetime is trash and we went into Detroit on our high horse. we need turner to be good and we need our OL to fight thru the injuries; the offense needs to match the eagles because we can’t expect anything out of our defense. my money is on the eagles, literally, but for the purposes of this thread I’ll go 34-31. Wentz gives the Philly trash a good 3 hour cry session on their bus trip home.
  14. I’m sure the majority would agree with you that the defense is mostly to blame. I think the 0 spot on the board in the first half and about as little ToP as possible left our D out to dry. also, special teams should get an honorable mention for being absolutely terrible.
  15. I’m not as down on the D as everyone else is… This game was lost in the first half because the offense was so poor. D did a fine job of holding strong the first few drives but they couldn’t catch their breath before they had to get back out there. This would have been a much different game if the lions had a few less possessions especially when they had all the momentum. The OL and turner were the problem. Maybe turner saw something on the eagles tape that he thought he could exploit, but sending AG up the gut brought back so many nauseating memories. The OL was average before injuries, now it’s a complete mess. This will likely haunt us all season. The defense was not good, but there was one bright spot; jamin. I rewatched the jags game and saw how effective jamin was on the blitz and it at least seemed like de rio sent him quite a bit more. Jamin can be a poor man’s Micah and at this point I’ll take that. We need to take the thinking out of it for him; just send him hunting and use his god given abilities.
  16. Giving up 22 points when you lose the turnover ratio 3-0 (essentially) is really good. Idk the odds of winning a game like that, but I’m sure they’re extremely low. this team showed a lot today. I believe most, including myself, weren’t expecting this good of a showing across the board. started hot. Overcame adversity. Great 3rd down defense. Things rarely seen by this franchise.
  17. Well, Rivera and JDR certainly have a type when it comes to Lbs… holcomb, jamin, and milo are all super athletic. The tangibles are there, but if they can’t be coached into the high IQ/instincts by two former LBs and LB coaches then how can we feel any sense of confidence in the other positions being addressed correctly. am I optimistic? Not especially, but friends let’s let this play out a little bit before jumping to conclusions. All arrows are pointing to jamin being significantly improved. Writing off anyone, before a meaningful down has been played, is comically ignorant.
  18. I’m all about keeping Williams for the bruiser role. I’ve used up all of my begging but AG should be used as the Swiss Army knife that made him great in college. Get the man in open space. we’ve all said it a million times but turner needs to get his head out of his ass. As a defense, it’s be nearly impossible to diagnose a play pre-snap and properly cover it if Gibson and mckissic are both out there.
  19. This news coming just after word got out that he would be the primary back. Bummer but glad he’s okay.
  20. I was disgusted by the jamin pick. Rivera being a LBer, LB coach, and D coordinator, in my mind he had to nail it if he drafted Lb in the 1st. Jamin was RAW, we all knew this, and I was hellbent on being right that we blew this pick. (I wanted Micah bad and wanted to trade up). now we’re going into year 2 and all I’m reading about is jamins progress. I want to be wrong about jamin and now the trending arrow is pointing upward. We’ll have to see how he fares come gametime, but compared to last preseason the reviews are night and day.
  21. I mean what did I expect to see here… shame on me Amigos, we’re not great, we’ve been talking about it for months. Most predictions here were around the 8-9 win mark. So how the **** are you all so surprised that we looked bad vs the best qb in the game? it’s preseason against a super bowl contender and all of you are writing us off, calling for peoples heads like we stand no chance to make this season interesting in the trashiest division. Let’s get some OL and TEs healthy and hope turner buys a new playbook and let’s see where it takes us. We’re good enough to play some meaningful games down the stretch and this game does nothing to change that expectation.
  22. I wonder what happened here. Mills has been with Rivera forever.
  23. Cole is still our #1 ILB until proven otherwise… Idk why you think things would change by day 5 of camp. scherff has been a pro bowler… it wasn’t just his final season. But the point is that we make this mistake with everyone; zero foresight. Regarding scherff specifically though, we were correct in not paying a RG that kind of money, but he absolutely should have been traded before last season.
  24. Love to see it. Also, I’m thinking my guy may have confused dyami for Dotson, at least I’m kind of hoping he did. From what we saw in otas, it looks like wentz-Dotson have chemistry. PS- saw u responded and was sure you were going to dig me for the Philly comment.
  25. My buddy, a disgusting eagles fan living in LA, said he was out at dinner last night sitting a table away from wentz, mclaurin, Samuel, Logan, and dyami. Said they looked like they were having a great time… and also that wentz sprained is wrist cutting his steak. Not saying one dinner means the world, but it seems to contradict the colts’ claims about him being aloof and distant from the team.
