  1. You don't get to watch every play of the other players across the league either. Does that mean I should take the same condescending tone and dismiss you when you comment about other players around the league? I'm just saying unlike a Jags fan I have not watched every Lawrence play. But from what I have seen, and over time that's a pretty good sample size, I'm pretty confident I've seen enough of him to have a valid opinion,
  2. He had a high ankle sprain and a concussion. That should not make him miss as many throws as he did and throw so many picks. 19 TDs and 12 INTs is unacceptable. I've just never been a fan and the Jags are one of the teams I root for because they have been mostly bad. I really wanted him to be good but the tape does not lie. He is an average starting QB and that's just not good enough in today's game.
  3. I've watched what I could of Trevor Lawrence on the Red Zone Channel. But I saw him a lot as I watched Red Zone most of the year. He just looks like a guy, certainly not even close to the player he was projected to be. I watched the Jags down 8 with the season on the line and had zero confidence in Trevor Lawrence. He sailed the 4th down pass 4 feet over the receiver with their season on the line, I'm not even sure they got a first down. And I'm not sure it can all be blamed on his situation. . Obviously the Jags have no choice but to sign him to a big contract. And it will kill them.
  4. I stopped watching those YouTube videos from some guy's basement. Every prospect looks good if you only look at their highlights. To me the best way is to watch entire games.
  5. Yes he played in the SEC. He also had far better receivers than say Maye and that also makes a difference. People are getting so worked up over the "one year wonder" thing. Well going into this last season nobody had Daniels being picked in the top 5. So in terms of the NFL draft, which is what we are discussing, he was in fact a one year wonder.
  6. I still lean Maye, I'm done with short QBs. I want the QB who can stand tall in the pocket and deliver the ball who also offers mobility but I'm not married to Maye. If the new FO likes Daniels well then I will too.
  7. Just a month ago we were hoping to stay in the top 7 to secure one of the top OTs or perhaps a TE. Weeks of breaks went our way, the bad teams around us pulled upsets multiple times as we did our part and lost out. Now we sit at 2 and have a real shot at a player who can literally change the franchise's future overnight. Things are changing in Washington. The Snyder Stink is gone and things are finally breaking our way. There is every reason in the world to be more optimistic today than at any time in the last 30 years.
  8. I want to shift my attention to the Giants to make sure they pick the latest possible. Anybody feel like doing a Tank-A-Thon for their scenario so we know who to root for/against?
  9. Again Howell showed he can play in the league, at times at a fairly high level despite his situation. You can't convince me the next 5th or 6th rounder will reach Howell's level.
  10. Assuming these points are tied to the Pats. I know I should know this but if the Pats lose where do we pick if we win?
  11. Yep Howell has shown he can play in the league, his regression this year was kind of understandable given the circumstances. it's foolish to trade a guy who can play in the league who holds little value to turn around and spend the 6th rounder they get for him on another late round QB who most likely won't be as good.
  12. One More Day. Until Ron Rivera is shown the door and the last bad decision of Daniel Snyder's reign of terror has been scrubbed from Ashburn. Like virtually everyone who worked for Snyder it ended badly for Ron and another reputation is damaged.
  13. I am in this camp as well. If they need a vet to mentor the rookie then get a cheap vet and make him 3rd string. But if they trade Howell they will spend that late round pick on yet another young QB as most teams do and that guy probably won't be as good as Sam Howell. So that doesn't make a lot of sense to me, IMO Howell could be a really solid, cheap backup QB.
  14. This team needs upgrades all over the roster. I see in particular guards, centers, safeties, running backs and tight ends who were taken in the middle rounds be good NFL players all over the league. Which is good news for a team with so many picks as these are all need positions.
  15. Yes players may have input on picking a safety vs a tight end. But they are making a far bigger decision that will probably determine the near future of the franchise. And if management is ready to upgrade the most important position in sports they aren't going to change their minds because some players like Justin Fields.
  16. I'm in the camp that wants to retain him and see what he could do with competent coaching and protection, which I do believe will be the case next season. He certainly showed the ability to deliver the ball earlier in the season and I believe he could be a solid backup. Hell if the rookie fails with the above mentioned improvement we could see Sam as the starter again with upside, something Brisett does not have. So Ron wanting to play it close to the vest to not give the Boys an advantage lasted 5 hours?
  17. This is my take as well. We all agree he is a good man and we are all happy he beat cancer, for now anyway. But I will definitely be celebrating his departure for these reasons. Yes he was put in a difficult situation. That's what happens when you get into bed with a man like Daniel Snyder so I have zero sympathy for him for the culture he inherited. He knew who his boss was when he signed the contract. Just so tired of the excuses (we are a young team when they were league average) and all that other crap. His tenure as head of personnel may go down as the worst stretch of personnel decision we ever had under Dan Snyder. Think about that for a minute folks.
  18. In a word no Front offices do not and should not select players based on what the other players want. He has played better but if you look at his numbers during this streak they aren't winning because of Justin Fields.
  19. I saw where NO over Atlanta is key, but wouldn't a NE win over the Jets solidify the 2 spot without any other results having to go our way?
  20. I still can't believe posters are promoting JJ McCarthy as our answer for a franchise QB. He looks like Jimmy Claussen with better wheels, not an NFL franchise QB.
  21. Or even if they like Williams a bit more it probably won't be a difference enough to give up our first next year as well as good picks this season. Josh made it clear that he is thinking long term not a quick fix. Trading up in the draft is not what you do for the long haul with so many holes on this roster.
  22. Lucas had another strong game as a reserve. I don't know why they did not put him at RT, I'm going to assume a swing tackle can play both. We have talked a lot about LT and the draft but the real weakness on this team was RT, C and LG. What has not been discussed enough IMO was Ron's decision to cut Morgan Moses who has been a solid starter 35 miles to the north. What does the RT class in free agency look like?
  23. It is concerning to read this and it kind of goes against the reviews I have read from the scouts. I hope they are right. So if NE beats the Jets and we lose that's it right? We don't have to worry about the other games or is New Orleans still a big one?
