  1. Although it clearly is not working as most of us predicted, and the price was insane, I think the criticism is a bit to harsh over the Wentz decision. I mean what were there other options?, Rodgers wasn't one, good thing they didn't pay the price for Wilson and Jimmy G was coming off surgery. So what other options did they have? Mariotta or Mitch T. Have you seen those 2 play this season? No they made the best of a desperate situation and that's exactly where Ron was, in a desperate situation
  2. Regarding the photo I'm not convinced that was a direct result of the situation he finds himself in, not convinced that was the look at kickoff. No I think that was what the owner of a team that was just so awful to watch last night looks like as he watched his pathetic team play.
  3. Oh I have readily admitted that I'll never have the passion for the Ravens that I once had for the Redskins. But it's nice to follow a team that is actually fun to watch and is respected. Now don't get me wrong, if Snyder is gone I will return immediately. But I've wasted enough of my time and energy on Snyder's team.
  4. Synder ain't selling because Al Michaels says he should. As always it rests with the owners. Even if his claim is true he has dirt on a few, not 24. I remain optimistic that this will happen. Eventually. It appears as if getting a stadium deal is his only out. And seeing as all 3 jurisdictions have told him to pack sand that's just not going to happen. My switch to the Ravens is made easier because I'm a Maryland guy. I don't see the Ravens as Baltimore, it's Maryland's team to me. I see the MD flag at mid-field, when they returned to the game they showed a restaurant chef making a crab cake. They never showed that on Washington telecasts.
  5. Well with his size he should be able to handle that. But he is just not a prime back, and he drops too many passes to be considered good in that role which is currently filled by McKisson who is a much better receiving RB. For the life of me I have no idea what Gibson has done to get all this love. This is his 3rd year, he fumbles and can't find holes. He is who he is.
  6. Random football take. There is one thing I would like to see changed. In the past once a runner's forward progress stopped the whistle blew and the play was over. Now the officials don't blow the whistle and this gives the offensive team a chance to slam big bodies into the running back from behind and shove him into the end zone or past the 1st down marker. This is totally unfair to the defense, the whistles need to come earlier.
  7. I wish I could remember the poster who was debating with me about their recent draft history under Ron. He actually used Milne as an example of good drafting. Poster also used Cosmi as a hit in the draft. LOL
  8. Nobody was comparing him to Jerome Bettis. But there were a number of fans who were arguing that that he was a good starting running back. But when he is compared to the other starting running backs around the league this is simply not true, he is well below average
  9. I don't want to derail the thread by discussing Gibson too much. But to be a quality starting running back in the NFL you need to find holes between the tackles. It was supposed to be his role and they gave him an entire year to show that he could do it and he really hasn't shown that Many of his big runs were through big holes that any backward have exploited. In addition he had another drop yesterday, this is pretty common. He just hasn't proven himself as a reliable receiving running back despite his history at WR which was surprising to me.
  10. I came here to post the same thing. I'm no Wentz guy but that pick was simply a great play by the Titans defender. 95% of the time that's an incompletion and they would have gotten one more shot, which of course they would have blown. But that INT was not really on Wentz. Is if finally time that some of the fans admit Antonio Gibson isn't any good? I never understood the love, based almost entirely on his speed for a guy that big it seemed. He never really developed the feel as a RB to hit the right hole etc, and for a former WR he certainly has not shown good hands.
  11. You have been smoking cigs since you were 8? I quit 5 years ago, found success with the nic pills you can get at Walmart and the sprays that only appear to be available on eBay. The patch never worked for me, just made me itch. Good luck.
  12. Yeah that's standard procedure which is why I was surprised to see all these dead fish. Most don't survive the stress, which is why for some big money tournaments they have officials on board to weigh, record, then release the fish. Guys the prize money he won was 40 grand. As posted he has won millions as well as a boat (according to the video). That money was stolen from the other competitors, he should face charges as he stole a lot of money. As for the weights those were 1 ounce weights. You can't tell by looking at a fish it is weighs 4 pounds 7 ounces from 4 pounds 8 ounces. But in 5-7 fish it could be the difference between 1st place and 3rd and that means thousands of dollars.
  13. I feel that way with crabs. But with a bass I'd rather throw him in the lake and maybe catch him again. Fish doesn't taste as good as crabs to me.
  14. I have an eaten a fish I caught in decades. I just like to catch them and then throw them back
  15. Back to the story this really is a big deal with so much money on the line. I mean the guy won thousands of dollars and a boat by cheating the others. I do know in the big money tournaments they X-ray the fish because this weighting is not new, I guess they don't do it for the smaller tournaments
  16. I agree with this. I've done both and with salt water fishing you're basically sitting in a boat driving around waiting for "fish on" With bass fishing as you said it's all about putting the lure in the right spot with the right action. I'd much rather catch a 4 pound bass on a top water bait at sunset. It's more satisfying because I feel I earned it more than salt water where I basically drank beer amd waited for the rod to bend.
  17. I'm not sold on the G-men, they only have one good win, at Tennessee which was a shocker. But beating Baker Mayfield and then the terrible Bears is not that impressive. That's all I got, the Commanders are exactly who I thought they would be.
  18. I did not read the order but that was my impression as well. So do you all believe he won't be indicted after all of this? I don't, never did. And can I assume from this situation that the crime was committed in Florida so any trial would be there and not in DC? Asking for obvious reasons.
  19. Realizing it was impossible that Snyder would ever field a winner I tried to switch to the Ravens 3-4 years ago. It didn't take, you can't flush 40 years of hardcore fandom so easily. Then I got suckered into believing the Chase Young hype and I was fully on board for that season, the next season's opener I looked forward to this awesome defensive line taking apart the Chargers in the opener. Then the games happened, along with the huge scandal. By mid-season after reading more about Daniel Snyder's behavior, and seeing his product on the field I wrote the team off and started watching the Ravens again. I no longer watch Washington games, I can't bring myself to openly root for the Eagles or Boys, but when they show them on the Red Zone I find myself laughing at their ineptitude. I kind of do the same thing to sports talk caller who are still feeling the pain of being invested in this dumpster fire. I am comforted with the knowledge that these loses hurt Snyder far more than they ever hurt me.
  20. I agree. The OL added depth but I just didn't see a good staring group. They were clearly below average. The DL went from a team strength to a spot with very little depth. And the linebackers. Why oh why wasn't that discussed all offseason and throughout camp? I never understood that, it was clearly a terrible group with exactly one player capable of starting and he was changing positions. I never claimed Kyle Smith was great, but he is surely better than the people who replaced him.
  21. I was high on the hiring of RR, I believe he is a good man and a pretty good head coach. But I said at the time giving him full power was a terrible mistake. The only times it worked is when that coach/GM had Brady or Wilson, it failed every other time and it was destined to fail here. I got a lot of heat a few weeks ago when I questioned this roster. As I said the best players on this team were here when RR arrived, he most definitely did not improved the roster. These holes were very easy to see before the season started. I stand by the position that ousting Kyle Smith was a mistake ,
  22. Meh, Every team has injures, you can't use that excuse. As for Chase Young he has had 1/2 of a great season, the rest of his games have been fairly pedestrian. He has 9 sacks in 24 career games and I can't see how his return will change things a lot,
  23. I've been thinking the exact same thing. And it's hardly just this year, we've seen these breakdowns for years now.
