  1. And given im almost 40 with no prospects of making it to 80 I can comfortably blow through it every month and not care 😂 Calculator says 100 mil divided by 40 is 2.5 mil divided by 12 is 208,333.333333 argue with a calculator if you want I once knew a guy that would argue with a level. He was an idiot.
  2. What the **** is with the hat he’s wearing It looks like it fits like a bucket would
  3. I would absolutely go back yo school and pursue a doctorate or two. That’s probably the closest thing to work I can think of but it’d be in areas I’m genuinely interested in (and can do well without stressing out about it all)
  4. **** no look I get that I’m in the minority of everyone I know that doesn’t understand how one could not do something i promise I will do something. And it won’t be anything that can be loosely referred to as “work” I’ll play golf. Go to sporting events. Hang out with my kids and my mom. Surf. Wakeboard. Travel. I’ll go finish some of the projects around my life/house that’s on a list of unfinished projects so long I honestly don’t even know how long it is anymore. If I get my hands on 100 mil you mother****ers are never seeing me again and that goes for the vast majority of people that “see” me on a regular basis except for my friends and family
  5. Yeah if I’m pulling 200k a month for 40 years I get to also name my own job It’ll be doing anything but working.
  6. Yeah see id just sit in it. I love being risky but once I have wha makes me happy I go super risk adverse. I’ll never understand the drug dealers that build a several hundred million dollar a year business, and decide that’s not enough we gotta do multiple billions so we encourage the USA and DEA to come after me. Stop while you’re ahead. (I’m lame I know)
  7. No taxes was a thought but I figured at 10 mil immediate and 100 mil more over 40, taxes weren’t really an issue.
  8. I don’t believe I ever said any of it was “OK” and I don’t give two ****s about either side i just don’t walk around pretending there’s these precious rules to war and then get outraged when someone I don’t like violates them. people in this country have this romantic notion of war. from people that don’t understand how low our deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq were. To the ones causally threatening civil war. To the ones that get outraged sitting on their couch about what one side or another does it’s really ignorant. people want war crimes charges. As if that’s a think that actually happens all that often. Our own country doesn’t even sign into the notion of an international court for trying war crimes 😂 but continue on with your selective outrage. whatever. People have selective outrage and forget things that are inconvenient to their desires. japan committed horrific war crimes during ww2. But it was only Germans that were hung. history is full of selective outrage and the USA has its own share of ****ed up actions no one was ever held accountable for, who knows about the stuff they successfully swept under the rug and we don’t even know about it. And it will continue to be that way. when the circumstances dictate it, the rules stop mattering. (edit: you see a smaller scale of this in society. People have morals when it’s convenient. Given the right context, they’ll justify suspending their morals. Those aren’t morals. They’re hobbies.)
  9. I believe drag one was an accident. I believe the one I’m thinking of is Iran air. It wasn’t a truly autonomous system, but I believe it was a new system that was supposed do all the IFF work and, according to the lesson for our class, alarms were not properly salient causing our guys to believe it was a military plane when it wasn’t. but the point is that system design has lots of pitfalls. Especially when you transition from on paper and theory to guy in a room actually pushing buttons and dealing with the alarms.
  10. We shot down a commercial airliner (80’s I think?) with automated defense systems. That stuff’s not to be taken lightly. Easy to make mistakes. (These are things you discuss when working through autonomous system design in college)
  11. Until we have a reason to avoid our new policy. War doesn’t have rules. They’re not rules if people don’t play by them unless it’s convenient to do so. and they’re not rules when there’s essentially zero enforcement for breaking them. 🤷‍♂️
  12. It seems to me for the most part they’re just opposite democrats, and that’s all that supports their opinions fundamentally Reverse psychology used on a 5 year old would work, if it wasn’t 40% of the population
  13. I mean with 100 mil over 40 you’re pulling 200k a month plus an immediate 10 mil cash injections. enjoy your Malibu though
  14. Yeah there’s multiple options that im not sure why you’d pick one when there’s a better alternative most of them suck but I’ll take the money and never getting sick again.
  15. The sons are in Hamas and are terrorists. We drone strike weddings when it suits our needs. 🤷‍♂️
  16. I haven’t done the digging but I have, for a while now, had the sense that if our government would do more about breaking up monopolies, problems like that would solve themselves.
  17. Also with labor and parts going up, if your not totalled your repairs are quite a bit more expensive these days.
  18. Well, what I was thinking is the used car (and new) market had gone insane since Covid started. so a vehicle with 20k damage may have been totalled and capped at 15k, but now it’s value is 25k so they have to pay out and pay out an additional 5k. So they have to raise premiums to make up for it. id imagine it affects any vehicle that saw its value grow since covid in the used market (which I imagine is most vehicles…)
  19. Having done no research - I wonder if the price of vehicles going up is a big driver. Changes the value of being totaled and raises the caps they’d pay on things. side note - great time to buy a truck. Finally pulled the trigger on mine last week. Still managed to get great value on my trade in too.
  20. I can’t think of a more perfect opportunity to charge parents for the first time. I can’t imagine any reasonable person has a problem with the fact that they largely contributed to the situation.
  21. come on. his lawyers that were involved are now dealing with disbarment and/or criminal and civil cases. his foot soldiers (if you will) are being punished pretty adequately. I get you don’t have the result you want but this constant moaning about how nothing is being done isn’t correct. even for trumps trials, the financial cost and the drag it creates on his campaign (and because the RNC is funding it 😂, down ballot campaigns are also potentially affected as there’s less money/time/resources for them) is real.
  22. I think he’s just trying to take the sting out of onslaught of ads that are about to hit us as dumb as I think he is, he consistently does a good job getting out in front of issues (in the sense it tends to work, not that he’s doing anything respectable)
  23. I’ll never understand how people decide to invest 30-40 minutes watching him talk
  24. I don’t know enough to know without invest more time than I care to, but i wonder if there’s money to be made taking a long position so you can collect on someone wanting it to short it (even with the loss on the long position)
