  1. I think he's already giving us the Dawand Jones treatment: "Really looking to sign with one of those teams that’s in the top echelon. Playoff contention last year, has a chance to make a step this next year. And I can really come in and add value to that team. “Not really looking for a rebuild where I have to come in and mentor a rookie quarterback. [I’m] looking for that team that’s missing a few pieces, needs some depth on the o-line. I know wherever I go, I’m going to end up starting. Offensive linemen don’t grow on trees.” Source: https://www.profootballrumors.com/2023/08/ol-justin-pugh-cleared-for-drills-expected-to-take-visits
  2. Is this game streamed free anywhere online? Direct TV in the shenandoah valley isn't carrying it and little insight on the game day where to watch thread
  3. Im just on the other side of the mountain in Fishersville. Direct TV doesn't show as available live with me either...
  4. You are NOT alone here. I like RR as a person, leader, and man of character. It is difficult not to respect the man, and I think most (if not all) of his detractors do as well. It is hard to root against the man. I'm not as much of a fan of Ron the FO guy and would like to eventually see those responsibilities handed off to someone else. I don't think a coach-centric model works in the long term. But as a Head Coach? Yep, sign me up! But the HC role that I think he needs is one with strong and capable assistant coaches. Perhaps JDR and EB running the day-to-day decisions of their respective squads as Ron oversees the team as a whole. So in the official ES standings, I'd like to see Ron stay on board unless he somehow loses the team (unlikely.) Reduce his responsibilities so he can do the things that he excels at as a leader. We as a fan base, and most certainly on this forum seem to carry a lot of negativity about this organization. We should be dancing in the streets that the scumbag is finally gone. Instead, we focus on our HC making poorly decisions with an open mic.
  5. Color me unimpressed. If the franchise was so vital to Marylands economy, why didn't they at least try to facilitate fan access to the stadium? Buses, Metro extension, gondolas, mules, whatever. Maryland had Fedex locked up for years and ignored it. Now that we have an owner with options they're suddenly important again?
  6. Start listening at the 9:00 minute mark https://twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1jMKgLjaNZAGL
  7. So Cheeseman will be snapping to a punter named "Colby." Does this make anyone else Bleu?
  8. Ask for a LB who can flex as a "box" safety, and this is what you get. What are your other 2 wishes? edit: after Gates dishing out a "centerpunch" you only have one wish left
  9. Apparently Barton was healthy enough to throw a punch today during the ruckus, if you find that kinda thing encouraging.
  10. There's some quality players at both positions ahead of him. We have the luxury to mix/match see where he fits best and where our need arises. Quan will get plenty of reps
  11. Does the O-line issue start with Gates? and then Wylie? Howell/Gates not calling proper protection? I mean Leno is fairly solid, Paul is big time potential and I haven't heard a lot about him getting beat up. Cosmi is our best guy, sooooo who's left?
  12. I really hope they're trying to bring Strom along. Odd that we spend our 3rd on a guy that RR is going to let sit, and then comment that he is "just" a C while simultaneously talking about the importance of position flex
  13. It seems that in previous years, practices would often end with a kicker competition. So far, all I remember reading was about a week ago when both went 5-5. Have I missed anything on that front?
  14. Agree @Skinsinparadise and it's really hard to separate the two. RR the coach has to Coach in a certain way because he has a very limited roster (due to lack of foresight and urgency by the FO.)
  15. This is where it gets hard to separate Ron the roster GM from Ron the coach. We really don't know what RR the Coach would be like if he had a good O-line and a QB. Perhaps he would turn the passing game WFO if it seemed unstoppable. I'm not opposed to keeping RR the coach if he finds a way to win with the roster at hand, but I'm perfectly fine with removing him from roster building decisions down the road. Every victory this year is much more of a testament to coaching than it is having the best team on the field.
  16. Is there a source for the injury report of camp? Who practiced, who didn't and who is rehabbing on the sidelines? I really was hoping for Kaz Allen to show something as a return specialist but I see those practice reps going to Pringle, Gibson, and others. Missed practice reps don't help at all
  17. I agree. And it's an issue that will be magnified this season 6 fold. It's how a DC attacks a rookie QB, blitz TF out of them, and then blitz some more. Even average O-lines can look bad when this happens and it will happen repeatedly until Sam makes a defense pay for being in his backyard. How often we stay out of 3rd and long may be one of the best predictors of how well our O-line looks this year.
  18. Good ol Tress throws a tight spiral and it might be a bit fun to have teams wondering if we're running, throwing or punting. Career passer rating of 119 and 100% completion rate
  19. I would assume that RR "killing it" also means that EB killed it as well. And if EB fails, then most likely RR fails as well. Since EB is on a one year deal...which one ya gonna keep?
  20. I agree, but feel that WR #6 better be able to contribute in a big way. Kazmeir Allen is my bet, just for the spark a true return specialist can bring
