  1. Same way Wylie forgets how to block. Lesson to be learned here is how good coaching can overcome those pesky blocking and snapping things.
  2. Kam is a good player, and if affordable you keep good players, it's what you hope for when you draft them. I don't think he is worth re-setting the market price for him, but if agreeable to a reasonable contract you hold on to your assets when possible. I have a feeling that with a DC who can actually design a D around player strengths, there's a whole nother level to see in Kams play.
  3. An even better option would be surround that Toyota with a couple of F-250s (6.7 diesel please) with the money that you traded that Rolls in for. Add assets, especially at our greatest weak spots. I don't give a rats ass about jersey sales, I care about building a foundation to win with. A good GM should know how to turn assets into a team. We have a good QB and I don't see the value in suddenly dismissing that fact. We also suck at like 17 other positions. Fix those first.
  4. In this case, becoming Pick Rich would be the way to go. Trade back to #6-9 for a team needing a QB. Howell PLUS one of the top 3 OTs, plus yet another 2nd rd OT/LB, plus another 4th rd OT/LB/TE, plus an early pick next year>>>>>a 50% chance of hitting on a drafted QB leading a team with no talent
  5. That's RR kinda thinking and it has led us to where we are today. Who needs Trent/Moses/Scherff? We've got plenty of talent behind them! IMO, you hold on to your talent because not every player is league average. Keep the ones above average and bring in competition for the ones who aren't
  6. I wonder if that affected sales at all
  7. If we (hopefully) end up with 2 starting OTs in the draft, I'd still want to keep Leno around. IMO he has been a solid contributor, should he be envisioned as an upgrade on the interior?
  8. Sadly, "everything else" on Offense would be 2 picks. So it looks like we will need about 22 picks on the first 2 days just to address our holes lol
  9. Yeah, it's hard to put too much blame on the defensive braintrust for this one. Don't get me wrong, they suck lol. But 9 sacks and 0 1st half rushing yards shows that the cuplrit for today was turnovers
  10. True. "Continuity" is only a good thing when we desire things to continue lol
  11. If he did take over as DC, he could at least blame his failure on the GM for not getting him any talent.
  12. I'm uncertain if */:( is ever up for debate or review, but the New York replay shows that Tress deserves at least 2 stars. Catching every punt snap that was over his head and the FG rolling snaps deserve second looks. Plus, he nailed every punt like an All Pro should. He shouldn't be penalized for being consistently good
  13. I swear we said that 6 weeks ago as well. If it wasn't for Tress' multiple saves, Cheesman would have been cut by any team in the league.
  14. Kudos to whomever made this Phoenix rise from the ashes. I'm on this site EVERY day, reading more than posting. It's part of my daily fix. Sunday I left for New Orleans to buy a truck and just finished the drive home last night. And I came home to a blank forum.... Never again will I leave this site unsupervised for more than 12 hours. I turn my back and BOOM! y'all break it
  15. Isn't the Franchise Tag the average of the Top 5 salaries? If he gets paid like a Top 5 player for 1 year, that sets the Floor for the next year. We have the money to give a long term deal without such a hit, and I'd prefer that.
  16. Although Bill knows it's not Butter, there are a few players that will be stomping out of their lard. T-Mac has something to prove after last weeks game Allen & Payne play as inspired man-eaters post Montez/Chase distractions Jenry/Toohil/JSW take their high energy game even higher Our new Oline minus Gates/Charles adds another game of experience as a unit. I don't think our team of men want to be seen as losers (yet). Skins 27 Pats 20
  17. Not every .500 team is medium across the board. Some are ho-hum in a lot of places, we seem to be more in extremes. Good QB off set by poor O-line. Kicker that can make a 64 yarder, but miss one from 25. Dline that can dominate at times backed by the worst LB corp in the league. So the net score still turns out to be "average." I'd be willing to keep the majority of our squad for next year, if we can get a coach who is a thinker and can maximize our strengths
  18. I was a Ron defender, thinking that he might be the type of coach we need to lead a team, if we could find a way to remove him from the FO role. I was wrong. He is not leading this team. Complacency is what we saw last night. I'm sorry guys
  19. That's not how I remember things going down on the draft thread. Gonzo was dropping fast, many posters saying teams had a few red flags on him. I didn't have an opinion on either one, but I remember that seemed to be the buzz
  20. I was thinking more of the builds/body types of Sprinters vs distance runners. While it is true that slow/fast muscle twitch contribute a lot to what type of sport fits us best. But world class sprinters do not seem to be hindered by having some serious quads either. Very few are as skinny as Forbes. I was a competitive powerlifter back on my day, so I have a limited knowledge base of the ability to add mass in certain regions. Granted, genetics are hard to overcome. Like you, my glory days are far behind me. Although I do go to the gym on occasion, most of my limited athletic prowess is now limited to farm work and dragging bucks. My training table often involves a beer and cigarette at the end of the day lol I was joking about the staff having a trainer on board.
