  1. Were you a sprinter? While long distance runners feel every pound they carry, Football is a quick speed game. 10-15 pounds of lower body mass should only help his burst. Now, adding 10-15 to his upper torso will make him a bit more able to handle contact, it probably will slow him a bit. Hopefully there's someone on the staff who knows this lol
  2. So if RR is truly auditioning to keep his job, does he admit he was wrong and remove Wylie from RT and show that he can adjust? Or keep the feces fest going in hopes of proving he was right? This upcoming week will be interesting
  3. I have a feeling that if Ron/FO had chased hard after Ivan Pace and we ended up with a nice starting LB, we'd feel differently. The Forbes/Gonzo comparisons have already begun. Strom vs JMS, Mauch vs Martin...lots of stuff to look at. Every GM misses on a few, but at THIS moment it does look like he's done a lot better than most of us give him credit for. I will admit that I would have found a way to have added Darnell Washington in the later rounds as well. But I also wanted Will Grier at one time as well lol
  4. Your argument is spot on, outcomes vs common opponents helps but that will be week old info by game time. Plus, every team matches up differently. I do feel that the Bills are a better overall team and SHOULD win, but heart/grit/mud/chutzpah/hunger and luck all come in to play on Sundays. Expect a little bit of optimistic homerism on this board. Redskins respected but also fed upon Bison Prediction: Buffalo 22 Wash 24
  5. One argument I heard (here) against such a move is that he would have to take up and hold a roster spot immediately. And if he will indeed be several weeks before being able to contribute, I get that. He's too talented to be able to stash away on the PS. I assume we could sign him and briefly release someone, and then put him on IR? Would that be possible?
  6. One play that I think Sam deserves a lot of credit for that I have not seen mentioned was actually on a RPO play that got crashed hard. The DE was on BRob while Sam was still in the process of handing it off. Sam showed a lot of maturity in not trying to pull the ball away and risking a TO. Take the loss and live again to fight another day.
  7. Last year it did seem that we threw a lot of potential INTs that thankfully weren't caught. But THIS year the opposite seems to be true. Have already had quite a few potential INTs dropped by our D, while I don't recall many that our QB threw. Great sign feeling that your QB is more accurate than the oppositions.
  8. Wasn't a darn thing "cultural" about his comment. Gates has long hair too, and if he starts underperforming it is also fair game. There is enough stuff that we all have to deal with in this world that is real, No need to go finding imaginary stuff as well. Cheers!
  9. I don't think Dallas is regretting letting him go. Do you think Cincy is?? Sometimes one man's trash is another mans junk
  10. Any chance you can play RG? Or maybe if you're not up to it, maybe just a little LS?
  11. I wondered about that, in particular JMS and the Giants getting annihilated last night. I really liked JMS and hated to see him go to a division rival. Have you heard how he fared?
  12. Tress deserves a star, not just because he is one hell of a punter, but because he managed to turn terrible snaps into points instead of turnovers. Cheese deserves a frowny face
  13. You can bet your sweet ass ol Dexter didn't do all of that fancy cipherin. Yet he came up with the same answer.
  14. This would seem to be the game for him to get it, even if held to a limited snap count. I reckon I'm too old school lol
  15. Az will find some success running at us. Their QB mess, Our D-backs and rush make the passing game too risky for them. And I expect them to have something to show for it. A few long drives and more TOP than most would expect will lead to a lower scoring game than some are predicting. Howell will look good in a few series, throw for a couple of scores, but also throw a pick as he might gamble on a few he wouldn't throw in a closer game.I expect a comfortable feeling during most of the game but not a blowout either. SkinDers 27 Cards 13
  16. I remember when Gruden said Crowder fumbling a punt was something we'd never see twice.
  17. For kicks and giggles, I looked up the NFL Power rankings for the beginning of the 2022 season, the end of the season and the current 2023. Last year we were ranked #30 at the beginning, and #15 by week 17. This year we start off at #24. Until proven otherwise, we probably deserve the doubt, but it is fun to see how wrong these ranking can be. This time of year, every team is filled with optimism (perhaps sans AZ) and I'm sure every team outside of the top ten is out to prove the doubters wrong. See for yourselves: Week 1 '22: https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-rankings-week-1-eagles-lions-rising-heading-into-2022-season-cowboys-s Week 16 '22: https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-rankings-week-16-2022-nfl-season 2023: https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-rankings-preseason-2023-nfl-season
  18. Anyone who watched Virginia Tech play Susans School of Cosmetology last night would know that even mediocre teams can play poorly against lousy teams. Those of you predicting a blowout win should keep the suicide hotline on speed-dial
  19. It's definitely not going to be a smooth transition either way, simply because of all of the puzzle pieces that interconnect. JDR came here in part due to Ron, and our D coordinator has done a fine job. So if Ron leaves, will JDR follow? If so, will the new GM think that he has a DC in his pocket capable of filling his shoes? Will Bienemy stay if not offered the HC job? If not, does the new GM think good OCs are just hanging around waiting for the phone to ring? Josh will have to decide if he wants a team that may be several years in transitioning, failing at new faces and succeeding at others, and be willing to wait until all of the pieces gel. Sometimes that takes decades, sometimes just a few seasons. For that reason, I think the ONLY change Josh should consider making is the hiring of a true visionary GM and sweet talking Ron into allowing him to just do what he does best. Then let the GM make the necessary hard decisions as contracts come up for renewal. Change can be good, but not all change is. By no means am I suggesting that we should just coast with the organization and just hope for the best, but I am suggesting that few sound decisions are made rashly. Keep the good, replace the bad, and empty the bathwater through a collander just to make sure there's still a baby.
  20. If you think Ron is being roasted for letting Trent, Scherff and Moses walk, just wait and see what happens when we have no DEs next year. This team floundering with no DE or LBs will have this board smoking.
  21. Dallas talk is usually the same old ****, but without their Cox, I reckon they're now new turd.
