  1. It's blatantly obvious those that don't like scary terry have never seen or don't like the show rick and morty. Pretty sure anyone who has seen the show gets and loves the nickname. Those that haven't don't understand the reference and therefore hate it...
  2. I agree and it’s unfortunate because Quinn sucks. He’s not above average in anything. Quickness, top speed, etc. His catch radius on a scale of 1 to 10 is T-Rex. He almost can’t run an out route because he doesn’t create separation and if you put the ball out in front he can’t reach out to get it. He’s available for now but the dude has missed 17/32 possible games and hasn’t shown much when available so his durability is a question too. He’s a garbage punt returner that is only capable of catching the ball and not actually gaining any field position. This was a guy I was somewhat excited about a year ago but now I know what he is. You’re right that based on the current situation he will make the team but I hope we don’t have to rely on him seeing the field much if at all this year.
  3. This is a huge blow. We have very little depth at WR and the cupboard is bare at TE. Harmon was most likely our starting WR opposite McLaurin and clearly had great chemistry with the other 2nd year wideouts. Haskins actually said he had the best chemistry with Harmon out of all of them going back to knowing each other from high school. He’s no stud but I think can be a solid possession guy and great blocker, was our starter and now done. We’ve seen enough to know trey Quinn doesn’t belong so that leaves McLaurin and Sims with a bunch of backup scrubs and all of us praying AGG can translate well...and quickly, with a jacked up offseason 😕
  4. There is no question that Harmon and McLaurin did that for Haskins on occasion last year. But I disagree regarding that packers game TD. If Haskins puts that ball right on Terry’s numbers it’s an easy for the safety coming across the middle. The ball was put in the only place a defender couldn’t make a play on it. Terry had to make a catch of the year type play but it was a perfect throw. Or Haskins just got lucky and made an inaccurate throw that fortunately ended up in the perfect spot. The overall point remains though that they bailed him out on occasion but that’s what good receivers should do. Scary Terry is our best offensive player and he and Dwayne will only get better, individually and together. If Sims progresses it’s really going to open things up for a playmaker we can get the ball in space like Gibson or Sims as well. If AGG can just be decent he’s going to see a lot of one on ones against the defense’s second corner and hopefully weapons like Gibson, Sims, McKissic and a healthy Guice can feast on a spread out defense underneath allowing them to get a head full of steam and rip off chunk plays.
  5. I like AGG and I’m very positive about him. But this just makes me think drew rosenhaus talking up Leonard hankerson and I want to 🤮
  6. I don’t have the link because I can’t remember what thread. But valuable insight on how little it matters who starts. Ioannidis played more snaps then Allen or Payne last year. Bottom line is we have 6 studs up front who can rotate, play multiple positions and terrorize the QB and play the run. Starts don’t matter. Overall defense does and we have a chance to be a top defense this year if RR and JDR can maximize their talents. These coaches have already said its all about developing a scheme around the players you have. All of them will get a lot of snaps and should be incredibly rested and efficient for those snaps and that’s what matters.
  7. FrFan, Thanks for the link man it worked great, except for the egg the team laid lol.
  8. Who are you referring to? Upset some of the NFC teams pulled it out against AFC opponents, i.e. Seattle (hate them, only player I liked was Lynch and now he's gone) and Minnesota. I didn't really expect the Browns to beat Philly but I thought it was close enough to even and Wentz' first start so I was hoping the Brownies could pull it off. Alas they looked like poo.
  9. Agreed. NY Observations: Defense is stout. They held Dez to 1 catch on 5 or 6 targets for 8 yards. They held Elliott to about 2.5 ypc and this wasn't some aberration - he literally only got about 2 yards or less on almost every single carry. As mentioned above, the receiving trio looks pretty solid and perhaps even more worrisome so did their run game with Jennings and Vereen. Perhaps this was just because Dallas sucks on defense, perhaps not. Dallas Observations: Nothing too impressive on defense. They should be awful as soon as Lee gets his annual season ending injury. May sound dark and it's nothing against the guy, but seriously, his body just does not hold up. The biggest thing here is that Dak looks damn good. He's no game breaker (yet) but he already looks at least as hard to bring down as Big Ben. There was a play where JPP got a full swat right on his wrist/the ball and Dak didn't even bobble the ball, instead just slid out and threw the ball. This is a guy where seemingly every time Dallas had him for a sack or pressured he'd just shrug off a hit and throw it away. This can't be understated because he takes away huge plays (sacks) from defenses and at worst turns them into incompletions. He completed an extremely high percent of his throws as well. He looks calm and poised. I don't say all this to say I think he's taking Dallas anywhere this year, moreso just that I think they seemed to luck into their next franchise QB. This kid is going to be very good, but I don't think Dallas is a division winner or wild card team this year.
  10. Meh, except Morris hopped right back up they patted each other on the back, hugged and kept on playing. By the way, Morris in his few carries looked like the sharper back today mwhahaha. So, how do we feel about the New York/Dallas game people? Glad New York won? Glad Dallas lost? Sad because New York could be the bigger threat this year? I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel although I hate Dallas so I supposed I'd prefer a NY win. One thing's for sure. Frickin RGIII continues to screw us.

Cut or Keep - RB Edition

I'm willing to buy in that he's gotten better at holding on to the football - it's been his focus all offseason. But this league is very "prove it to me." Defenses focus on takeaways no matter what. But when they smell blood the DeAngelo Hall's of the world attack the football as much as the man every single play. Defense look to swarm and stand a guy up so they can rip the ball out. You can bet defenses will look to do that all year until Jones proves it's not an issue. It may very well not be right now but as a running back if you have a sprained shoulder that's absolutely a factor in being able to hold on to the ball. Bottom line, I know I'm more down on Jones than others. A part of it was a bias that we just handed him unearned carries last year and effectively started the changeover from Morris based on zero production from Jones aside from just him being big and fast. I'll admit, I was a bit of a Morris homer. But again, a player that is always available and effective (even if not a homerun hitter) is of huge value to me. It just annoys me how much the coaching staff and front office seem to anoint this guy and put him on a pedestal when, to me, he's done nothing to deserve it. To me, he's an unproductive, injury prone running back who fumbles the football that doesn't make plays on his own. He makes big plays when linemen open truck sized holes for him then continue blocks at the second and third levels. He looks great carrying cornerbacks another two to three yards. I'd be ecstatic if he became a great back. But I haven't seen anything other than what I just said and it bothers me that HE is the one guy our front office and coaching staff seem to have anointed and strayed from their "earn it" mentality that they employ with every other player at every other position. He's earned absolutely nothing, given more reasons to doubt than anything to have faith in. And yet this front office that is so deadset on work ethic and toughness and earning every inch (which they should be and I love) gave up on a late round productive back that earned everything, had an outstanding work ethic and was always healthy for a guy that looks great in shorts and a T-shirt...so far nothing more than the "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" cliche. And for what? He's a third round back. It's not like we dropped a top ten pick on him. I'm not advocating giving up on the guy but hell, I think there is a damn good argument for Kelly to start over him week 1, healthy or not. Back to the topic and as I said above - I find a way to keep both Mack Brown and Kelly. They're both healthy and productive. Kelly has been very good in pass pro. And there is a 100% chance Jones misses time this season, potentially even the opener. If Brown leaves to sign elsewhere because we cut him to put him on the PS, when Jones gets hurt you're looking at Kelly/Thompson and some veteran off the street. Not terrible, but I'd rather have two running backs that I feel comfortable (enough) giving 15-20 carries per game if needed. Thompson is not that guy, he will/would get hurt playing a major role as well. I love him as a receiver out of the backfield and on some third down draw plays, but he's proven he is fragile and not an every down back as well.

Cut or Keep - RB Edition

To me it's about availability. I haven't seen anything from Jones to make me believe he will produce more than either Kelly or Brown, honestly. Jones has had all of one exceptional game in the NFL. He's had a few exceptional plays. He's had more injuries and missed time than he's had great games or even plays. A guy with injury issues and fumble issues that now has a sprained shoulder, likely affecting his ability to hold on to the rock when you know opponents will be game planning to rip it out every chance they get. I'm 100% certain Jones will start week 1 if deemed healthy. I'm also 100% certain I would be just as happy with Kelly #1, Brown #2 and Thompson as our change of pace/third down back with Jones on the PUP. Jones has a higher ceiling, but so far all I've seen from him is fantastic athletic ability coupled with zero durability and poor vision/ability to set up blocks. What I've seen from Kelly and Brown, especially in game 4, was patience and vision. That ability to make the quick hop step or slide when they get the ball away from a defender beating an o-linemen, which essentially eliminates that one-on-one loss, and then they find a hole and pick up yards. It is equivalent to a QB with pocket awareness that steps up in the pocket to allow a pass rusher who has won outside to go right by. The tackle may have lost the battle but the QB covers it up with a simple deft step or two. It's no different for a RB. Too often last year and what I saw in preseason was Jones trying to run around that man or through them. Morris often did this last year too. Kelly and Brown excelled last week at simply sliding away and allowing the linemen to run the defender by them and then finding the open hole. Patience and then precision to the hole at just the right moment to squeeze through into the second level. These two are no world beaters and Jones actually looked solid in his few carries before injury, but to me, I've seen as much from Kelly and Brown as I have from Jones and most importantly I believe they can stay on the field. What I don't want to see is we cut one of them and then two weeks into the season Jones is hurt again and we're down to Kelly/Thompson or Brown/Thompson. Give me the young, hungrier player who is not injury prone at the position well known to be the most brutally punishing in the league to the body. I've seen zero evidence that Jones' body can stand up to the challenge.
  13. I have the Watch ESPN app on my roku and just downloaded the ESPN app on my iPad - the first requires your cable provider (I don't do cable) and the second doesn't have/show any streams available or even allow me to watch replays of past games. It was worth a try though.
  14. Just the regular free ESPN app on my iPad? It won't ask for my cable provider or anything?
  15. Anyone have a quality HD stream link for tonight's Cavs/Raptors game? The one I tried to watch on myp2p and other googling offered my nothing but laggy and terrible streams. Much appreciated!!!
  16. Glad somebody agreed. The gold pants were much better than the yellow ones we typically wear. I thought the color scheme looked great. I heard a lot of people weren't big fans of the helmets but honestly I liked those a lot too. But we could definitely come up with a new color scheme for our current helmet. But I know this is just a pipedream, it's obviously not going to happen.
  17. Does anybody else wish we would permanently wear the colors we wore last week? I loved the REAL Burgundy and Gold colors. Obviously we could just take the typical helmet and match the color to the uniform, but I thought those uniforms were exceptional. But yes, we do only seem to win with the white jerseys and burgundy pants.
  18. Aside from just the uniform, Orakpo seems to have hit the gym pretty hard this offseason. Hopefully it translates to some improved functional strength on the field. I think this is going to be a big year for Orakpo (nothing to do with him looking bigger, he just really seemed to come on at the end of the year). http://media.oregonlive.com/playbooks-profits/photo/nfl-uniformsjpg-d1562cf4ee47cb63.jpg (picture in the link is a little more blown up)
