  1. The saints have been one of the nfl’s best franchises for over a decade and were even competitive last year with jameis. Kc, Rams, NE, Titans, 49ers among a few are pretty strapped against the cap this year and most years. The rams, you may recall, just won a SB and continuously sign and trade for guys that demand big contracts and they work around it. I literally cannot believe people are actually against signing Terry to his market value because they are worried about the cap smh.
  2. Lol at people talking about ruining our cap. What world have you been living in? Teams will be $70M over the cap and make a few restructures/moves then sign another high priced FA. Sign your best players, especially the homegrown ones and figure out next years cap issues next year.
  3. I think it was the dolphins but you’re right. Could be a maturity issue or something. But he wanted to come back here and given he hadn’t played for Rivera I have to think the oline vouched for him. Oh well. It’s done now but all of a sudden there is a huge gap on dline and oline depth.
  4. Flowers just doesn’t make sense to me. He’s young, in his prime (maybe getting better really) and durable. It was my understanding we easily could have restructured/extended his contract to minimize the cap hit this year. And it made sense to me given he’s only 27. That one was just extremely unexpected.
  5. Anyone who doesn’t hate if lose McKissic is crazy imo. Dude is electric and has been a very good change of pace back for us running too. I’ll agree if Gibson is hurt he needs to stay in that role and isn’t the guy you bump up to carry the load but he’s been great for our offense.
  6. I promise I haven’t forgotten. I have argued before I think a decent amount of it is the money game - it’s like a TE trying to argue they play more WR. But you also get paid when you’re a difference maker and that’s what he was when he moved down. He’s also said he wanted to be here. It sounds like there may be more to it then I’ve initially seen that maybe he balked about restructuring although that wouldn’t make sense to me because that just means more money now for guys. Regardless of why or who’s choosing it I’m just saying I wish we could lower his cap with a restructure and keep him because there’s no difference we were a much better defense with him on the field when he was playing the right fit for him.
  7. I don’t like the idea of cutting Collins. He was a difference maker once we put him in the right position. Restructure sure. But losing linebackers is not what we need right now.
  8. Plus I don’t think there is any guaranteed money after this year so I think it’s essentially a one year prove it deal at this point. So the real cost is the draft picks. But we need to restructure several contracts sooner than later and extend terry so we can attack free agency. And by attack I mean I’ll honestly be happy if we sign Wagner/Campbell/Hicks and resign several of our own like JD/McCain/Carter. I didn’t love McCain a lot of last year but he finally bought in and learned how to play in the system and started playing well. I don’t wanna start fresh with someone new again next year and the defense has to gel all over again.
  9. Just like he was going to last year until fitzy’s hip “broke right.” 😭😢🥺😩
  10. Soooo, we traded for an injury prone QB, that has serious character issues? And the coach he had the most success with who traded a 1st round pick for him jettisoned him after one year? Where do I sign?
  11. This also doesn’t matter. If we kept KOC, our offense would probably still have struggled with Heinicke and KOC would still be here, not being a HC here or elsewhere. It’s not like we’d have fired Rivera and moved him up, especially given the lack of success he’d have likely found here.
  12. Jimmy G, Wentz, Trubisky etc are worthless to me. They bring nothing to the table more than just mediocrity. Jimmy G is a guy that, given his options, probably only continues his “winning ways” with Pittsburgh. He’s not a good option for us. This season was tough. Good in the sense that we answered the Heinicke question, sad in the sense that we probably woulda been in the playoffs because I think our ceiling was higher with Fitzpatrick. Completely disregarding character stuff or anything else, the only names that are potentially available out there that do anything positive for this franchise are Rodgers, Wilson and Watson. I no longer thing Carr is available. Maybe, just maybe I wouldn’t have a total smh moment with Mariota if, and only if, we also drafted a QB high to grow behind him. But I’m pretty tired of hearing Watson talk even ignoring his issues when it’s been talked about by people in the know that he won’t waive his no trade clause for us and doesn’t wanna be here. It’s shocking, really, not that he doesn’t wanna be here, but all his issues because he’s a guy that from Clemson and Houston always seemed like an extremely high character and non-entitled, hard working person. All this scandalous stuff just shocked me with regards to him.
  13. Ok hadn’t heard about Slye. A part of me figure maybe we said **** it we are going for it all night. Wouldn’t be a terrible idea. I like Slye but I’d almost give Johnson the rest of the year, let Slye heal up and have them compete this offseason.
  14. I’m confused about JSW and Settle. And honestly what is AGG doing if he can’t even be active at this point.
  15. Do I....celebrate? I am confused. Did we do something good? Lol
  16. Run the read option for the TD to seal it. And can I get a hit on a defenseless receiver?
  17. Maybe we should have offered more for Matt stafford… …he still would have declined it and gone to our former OC’s team lol
  18. Garbage owner. Garbage team. New year same product.
