  1. Sam cosmi is the real deal. If he can stay healthy. I loved him last year. And I love his interviews. That being said it reminded me of when Trent Williams went on some kinda diet years ago and everyone freaked out about it like if you’re 300+lbs that can’t sustain you. I randomly wonder if he’s still on it (kinda like his version of the Tom Brady diet). Absolutely no intent on suggesting cosmi or our guys should do it, honestly just randomly musing. And glad it worked for Trent and hope he makes the HoF but imagine he’d need a ring.
  2. …pretty sure my last sentence said that exact thing and I agree with you. You kinda expanded on my point. I’d love to have extra cap paid for by the colts but I’m much happier with the deal then some ****ized plan that fell through resulting in a first rounder utilized on a qb this year. Cheers.
  3. That absolutely checks. We were in panic mode and admitted that we didn’t want that to hold things up and have another team swoop in so we didn’t even ask. I’m sure given how much Irsay apparently hated him that we could have shaved off several million, maybe more. Is what it is. Doesn’t seem like we needed to be so swift with it but had we balked and another team got him and we ended up with no one again it would have been that much worse.
  4. Two ways to look at it - quez Watkins had more catches and yards in the nfl last year than Samuel Dotson and brown combined. And he’s their number 3. I love the Dotson pick but perhaps King is living a little more in the “show me/prove it to me/what have you done lately” vs the paper potential of the group and he ain’t wrong. We’ve been buying in on potential for a while now but there’s rarely, if ever, any substance. Young needs to dominate, take over games and easily surpass double digit sacks. Sweat shouldn’t be far off that with Allen Payne and Mathis pushing the pocket. Dotson should pop immediately and produce. Davis should be put in situations to really make an impact and he better execute/produce. Jackson needs to lock dudes down. Produce - do what you’re here to do or get off the field. Work and produce like Mclaurin on a consistent basis and the team will win and the media tune will gradually change. Otherwise it’s all talk and empty calories.
  5. Best in the business at acquiring picks and assets. Too bad they suck at actually choosing players. It did seem like they crushed the draft this year but we’ll see.
  6. All I read was McLaurin is gonna have a career year if our QB who can throw more than 15 yards can stay healthy.
  7. Regardless, it seems we’ll be fielding an O-line this year that has very little drop off from last year, with arguably better depth for what I think is significantly cheaper than what Scherff and Flowers alone would have cost.
  8. I am REALLY hoping we bring back Landon on a cheap deal. I’m liking our draft overall but man our LB room needs work even if we do grab someone late in the draft.
  9. This is kinda where I’m at. I really like Dotson as a player. I think we took him higher than he should have gone but that’s not really my issue at all because if you really have a player rated that high then go for it. My issue is that I truly believe either/or both hamilton and Williams will be very special/elite players. And if that happens, it doesn’t matter what we get out of Dotson/the other picks. I think those two were blue chip prospects vs Dotson is a very very nice piece that they can really utilize in their offense.
  10. For me it’s not about olave. It was always about Williams because I think he’s the best receiver in the draft. I’d have felt better if we traded and got Detroit’s picks. Id rather have Williams or hamilton. But we will see.
  11. Williams would have hurt this year because of a small ROI. But this team is going to have to hit big on those added picks to convince me it was worth it. Cuz I’m pretty sure Jameson is gonna be special. If hamilton somehow fell to 16 that woulda made a difference too. But I sincerely feel we dropped just outside the top tier talent of this draft. If the 3 and 4 even combine for a solid starter I’ll feel differently but the difference to me between Williams and Dotson or even hamilton is pretty significant.
  12. Bro this is a wayyyyyy bigger reach then jamin ****in Davis. I need more shots. And unfortunately I just boarded my plane…
  13. And **** they took Williams NOOOOOOOO
  14. I officially wish we woulda traded with the lions lol
  15. Baalke is such an incredible ass clown smh
  16. I mean…I did explicitly say 10-12 for Payne, not 15+. Also the cap will continuously go up. Also there are constantly teams around the league performing at the highest levels finding ways around the cap. I’m trying to see where the problem is. There are other guys like Kurl that will get paid. But I think maybe we overvalue what that pay out is. I think we are fine.
  17. Give me Williams/Wilson (toss up) olave then London in that order. I’ve had a few drinks and am more sold on olave right now. **** it. Also. Wtf. Payne is a monster. He doesn’t get sacks. Fine. The man is a granite cinder block in the middle of our line. I’d be happy to pay him 10-12 a year. Maybe he’s asking for more, if that’s the case we are right to wait. But I hope down the road we can get a deal done and keep him around. He’s also super young.
  18. First round grade is different than the top 40+ players in the draft. It’s relative. 32 guys gotta go. Doesn’t mean they’re typical first round talents. But relative to the draft as a whole.
  19. This draft is hard for me. Williams is the ONE receiver for me I feel 100% sold on and yet if he’s there we have to wait for him to heal. Lloyd may be the guy I want the most and feel as sold on (on the defensive side of the ball) but I feel 11 is early and apparently he’s a pass for the FO. There are SOOO many trade down options that intrigue me. But most on here seem so hell bent on you just do it. Well, it takes two to tango and it needs to be fair. It’s not so simple. I think at 11, minus the two above I’d be most excited about Wilson but I just don’t see him being available. London scares me. At this point I think most skill players non sec or big10 scare me. Level of competition is a thing. Could be Alston Jeffery, which is ok. Hell, could be so much more. Could also big the next big guy to not translate and just not get any separation. Olave could be an absolute bombshell and with Terry’s guidance really blossom sans the strength to break tackles. I like him but I don’t see it at 11. Hamilton brought it, but at his size I feel like you gotta be the athletic freak like Derwin or Sean and I don’t think he’s anywhere near them. So he could be caught in the underproducing, out of position game that our coaching staff seems to put guys in until they figure it out after it’s too late. Idk, safeties that high need to be Derwin or Sean or Polamulu and I just don’t see it with him. I like the trade down idea of a Dean and Watson draft. But we’ve seen that before and we end up with what we thought were steals only to lose hard. Previous drafts shouldn’t impact thinking in that way but…ptsd. Part of being a skins fan. I think in my most perfect scenario we stay put and get Williams/Wilson then muma but I just don’t know. I’m gonna miss the first round on a flight home anyway. I just wanna fast forward to positive camp vibes of wentz and the rookies and pray it translates to week 1.
  20. Sometimes I think this comes down more to how coaches change a scheme and players around them. We tried to make jamin something he wasn’t rather then employ him in a way that made him a weapon. See Landon Collins. When they finally forced him to play a role best suited to him, he excelled and the defense was better for it. I think the same applies to jamin. is it any wonder that lesser receivers perform well with guys like mahomes or Rodgers? Wentz is no world beater but I think a guy like Watson could shine here if used correctly with a qb that can make all the throws. Hill and Adams are great but I think we all expect regression in production in their new settings. The same as we should rightfully expect an uptick, even if just in ypc and td’s from mclaurin with wentz. But I think our coaches can do a better job (and did the second half of the season) putting players in a better spot to succeed. It’s no coincidence that Collins, McCain and Jackson looked better at the end of the year.
  21. So I feel like you me and @KDawg could write articles and have a podcast. I try to listen to jp Pete and Mitch but man, the latter two just come off as, holy hell these guys can’t put a sentence together and jp ain’t much better. I’m fairly certain with any level of inside insight this is a job we could do 😅
