Pedro Pascal being asked to handle all the major tent pole franchises at once is fun. We should reboot Indiana Jones with him too. -
WFT YouTube: WFT managed to screw up on Sean again
Lombardi's_kid_brother replied to NewCliche21's topic in The Stadium
There were so many random Sean Taylor events over the years, I've honestly lost track of what's true and what's not true. 1. Is his jersey officially retired? 2. Is he in the Ring of Fame? 3. Is the weird erector set statue still up? If 1 and 2 are true, that's probably enough, and they can take the mannequin thing down with little to know backlash. As for a proper statue.....I don't know. It would seem odd for this ownership group with no connection to him to him with a statue when luminaries like Gibbs and Mitchell don't have one. Maybe if there is a new stadium, they can do multiple statues or something. -
This is my favorite stupid argument in all of sports. When does the second round stop being the extended first round? Is it the same pick in each subsequent round where the round actually becomes the round? What happens when the supplemental picks kick in? Does that mean that the sixth round is just the sixth round or is the first pick of the sixth round still part of the fifth round? I demand tp see your work.

I do find it amazing that we're now in an era where a P5 head coach would leave that job to do the grind of being an NFL OC. Chip Kelly only has to consistently make the Sun Bowl to keep his 7-figure, relatively low pressure job in Los Angeles. He's willing to given that up to work from 4 AM to 10 PM every day in Ashburn. NIL and the transfer portal have really changed the game.

But again finding out that the job is not attractive at all is something they could have figured out in November or December. I'm admittedly way over my skis, but it just looks like the season ended and they decided to hold and an open house for coaches thinking "we got the hottest joint in town" and then only Bienemy showed up with a dozen glazed donuts from a gas station..

And let's take that a step further. Kyle's people were originally Mike's people. (By the way, I don't think Mike or Kyle Shanahan are necessarily coach whisperers who find and nurture nothing but geniuses. I think Mike has been so tightly tied into the NFL ecosystem since the freaking early 80s that "his guys" simply get more opportunities than anyone else and when they succeed, it extends whatever influence his name had or still has).

What happened to that ES poster?
Lombardi's_kid_brother replied to TheGreatBuzz's topic in The Tailgate
It never had one, because the Taigate sowed division and "reason shall prevail!" Also, they welcomed Sarge with open arms. From what I can tell, every topic is started by Boone and every third post is by Boone. So if you need Boone's up to the second opinions on every possible issue related to the Commanders, I've got the message board for you. -
I was thinking about his last night, and I think I arrived at why this Quinn thing - while fine - seems so off. It's this: Ownership knew in August that barring a miraculous season, they were firing Ron the second the season ended. By early October, it should have been clear that this was not a miraculous season. So, you would think they would have been having back-channel talks and making lists and doing all the borderline legal stuff you need to do to plan for your next coach. I kind expected that they would have coaches 1, 2, and 3 pretty-well vetted and know exactly what you need to do to land them. Instead, it seemed like they cast this really wide net and were gathering all their information in January and didn't really know anything about anyone. Again, that's just perception.
