  1. @tshile Yeah, TWA 800... I think....
  2. Can I pick smarter people doing memes. All these things need to have negatives to go with them. "$10 million, but you will never have sex again..." "$5 million and 100 acres, but all your children and grandchildren die" "Never sick again, but you are overweight for the rest of your life" "2024 Dodge of your choice, but all your sports teams never make the playoffs"
  3. https://www.theverge.com/2024/4/4/24120352/israel-lavender-artificial-intelligence-gaza-ai Welp, we didn't all talk about the AI tool that Israel was using to target Hamas.... Scary stuff, especially since I am doubtful AI is all that "intelligent". And they intentionally didn't care about collateral damage.
  4. Israel conducted air strikes that killed some of the children and grandchildren of a Hamas leader.
  5. Harpers.org: Who Goes Nazi? (1941, but still relevant) In 2015 we should have been playing "who goes MAGA"... it's only getting worse.
  6. The goal is that these ads are effective against the 20% or so undecideds. Trump didn't have a record in 2016. In 2020 he wasn't a criminal, he still had a record - but COVID was also a main thing. 2024 now Biden has a record, and Trump had January 6. I'm solidly on one side here, but this ad is basically -- "look at how delusional this guy is. Do you want to be part of his cult? Look at that Confederate flag... Trump flags..."
  7. @ixcuincle It's because he works with a bunch of pricks... and he's also a prick. What does it say about the others who went along with Gaetz' motion?
  8. Re: Alabama Biden deadlines Let me put my right-wing-thinking-cap on. Democrats andbJoe Biden has been engaging in brass knuckle lawfare against Trump since 2016. Since the unfair impeachment of Russia collusion, to January 6, to the documents case. This is pure lawfare, straight out of a banana republic country. I never thought I would see the say that our politics stoops so low. Therefore, conservatives need to engage in lawfare back. The only way we can win is by being just as lawfare minded back. Or else we will become the next Venezuelua! Joe Biden asked for these Del Monte-country actions.
  9. @Cooked Crack "Buying a bus ticket to go somewhere to get it [an abortion] is not the worst thing in the world." Clearly this is man who has never ridden Greyhound. Of course what Fox News host is going to challenge him on that? Traveling on Greyhound is pretty much one of the worst things in the world. But, I think the abortion itself will be worse. Jackass. Are these people anything but "the sock puppet of billionaires".
  10. From Janis Joplin, to Jo Jo Siwa! It's so bad I have to share it! Here's the original (from 2012)...
  11. There is an April 22 hearing on the matter. Court filings are due to respond to the NYS information.
  12. @ixcuincle There's just one issue with the Isrsel is Russia, Palestine is Ukraine. Palestine is governed by a State Dept. Designated terrorist organization. But, it is correct to say, you can't bomb your way out of this problem. I thought Israel just withdrew from southern Gaza? Both sides are trying to "bomb their way" out of the issue. Stewart also ignores the issue of the hostages. Which is inherently, the definition of terrorism. There's also the issue of both countries democratic populations seem to support a more right-wing militant, confrontational government. I see how it is on both sides. The Palestines held largely peaceful marches and the world barely blinked. Let's play a mind game of "what happens if US steps away from Israel/Middle east". We pretty much are hedged in with Saudi Arabia-Qatar-Egypt-Israel against Iranian interests. Iran was actually the big winner of our Iraq fiaaco. But, I don't think it's truly in Iran's interests for this to explode either. I feel like Israel is leaning into, "let's see how far we can push our boundaries..." knowing that we are stuck to them. And Iran is doing the same, knowing we are working to avoid a larger conflict. Rebuilding Palestine should be the wet dream of "compassionate conservatives".... or does that only exist with countries that have large oil reserves? Sorry, that was 20 years ago. So, I am trying to think of a plan that doesn't involve Hamas and a 2-state solution. I can't there without Hamas ie. "the de facto democratic government of Palestine." Getting rid of Hamas requires Israel to pull what US did in Iraq. Palestinians don't have either political or military might to do that (and why wouldn they attack their defense force?). I don't know if Israel can pull a US in Iraq and risk what an insurgency would look like (all around them) and convince their neighbors they are "good guys". Especially with their track record. Actually trying to solve this problem isn't easy regardless of how hypocritical we (US) may appear.
  13. Edey's at least gonna have a Kwame Brown NBA floor... right?
  14. To some extent, but not exactly. My son, his best friend and this boy have all had their brains fried by Tik Tok. Not exactly QAnon. I spend my weekends/whenever we hang out talking. At least we can talk about it openly and I don't disengage. Mostly, young men between the ages of 15 and 20 (which they are) have been ingesting social media garbage. To the point they think it is great fun trolling everything. Here's a typical weekend when they are around. "Hey Fergasun... this is what Andrew Tate said.... [plays clearly mysoginistic Andrew Tate quote] do you think he's right" "Hey Fergasun... me, and 'son of Fergasun' are gonna go to foreign countries and meet foreign girls and import them. American girls are such hoes. American society is so degenerate. What do you think?" Me: I don't think you should plan to meet the one like that. "HEy Fergasun... here's a Youtube /BBC story about a woman who was so addicted to sex 5 times a day wasn't enough... " [proceeds to play it]... what do you think?" "Hey Fergasun... here's a crazy youtube story... [proceeds to play me a video about some police office dispatcher that was sleeping with 4 officers in their unit]... isn't that crazy?" "Hey Fergasun... I have a plan to rule the world... don't we all just sit around day dreaming about world conquest? Anyways... [proceeds to share about a plan that starts with putting some aggresive chemical in some eastern european country and getting them to militarily take over their neighbors....] Me: So what happens when someone fights back like Ukraine is fighting Putin did you think about that? "Hey Fergasun... I have a conspiracy, I was watching this Youtube documentary about Rubin... do you think Netanyahu killed him?" "Wanna see a war video?" It's great fun and I don't mind talking with them. But it's insane what's in their heads. This isn't why I used the Internet at that age. Granted I was asl'ing around "aol chat rooms" (IRC) at that age and getting into worse problems. My son and his best friend and their families are like our extended family. This boy is just naturally along the same wavelength. The better ideas are supposed to win out... but if they only get garbage ... it pushes so much in their heads. Maybe I am a bad parent for giving my kids unfiltered Internet access.
  15. @China I hate that guy. Mainly because I am jealous that I never thought you could just make useless content like that and be valuable to society.
  16. What's the opposite question? "How are your children in-laws and their families?" My kids are at that point where they have started dating. I love the family of the boy my daughter is dating, and the boy seems okay. His mom is a known music artist (best I can tell she stopped making it to have a family). It's trippy to be linked to someone whose music you listened to. She's super nice...
  17. We all know it's not a punt. It's a pander to the dummys who think "Trump won't sign a nationwide ban on abortion" If a GOP Congress gives him a nationwide abortion ban. He will sign it. Which is why the Pro Life people attacking him now is -- chef's kiss! But it feels like political kubuki. The pro life people should say, "we are not worried about it. We know Trump will sign a national ban".
  18. "Walking my dog." I own a dog stroller. That's not "walking my dog". Maybe if it is a brand new puppy? What the heck are you doing!
  19. I think that the current VP would break the tie.... (because Congress convenes first).
  20. The winning Vice President would become President. Again. All of this is another reason to have National Popular Vote.
  21. @The Evil Genius Reading the amendment it does seem like a majority is needed. The article I quoted from indicated it was a 2/3rds vote needed....
  22. I read that the Senate votes for Vice President. I guess it's the 12th amendment. And the Vice President would be President. But they would need two-thirds. This would seem to imply the speaker of House could become President?
  23. "Eff off and go to jail or be sanctioned for frivilois lawsuits" is what would happen to everyone else.
  24. Also that lady on video campaigned for Trump in 2016 and 2020 and encouraged others to go door knock for Trump in PA. RFK knows exactly what his job is.
