  1. We can find another Humphries this season too. Guys like that look much different with a QB that can open up the offense.
  2. This is all on paper though. If you watched the Colts last season then you'd have noticed that Wentz couldn't close out games. They were 1-6 in games where Wentz threw more then 30 times. (obviously you throw more when behind) Jonathon Taylor was the closer. There was no point in the season where Wentz was considered among the best in the league or at least I certainly don't remember any talk like that. Not even in conversation. He might've been among the best in the league in QBR at times on the stat sheet in hindsight. If you're judging Wentz as a top 10 NFL QB, then he had a below average year and the deal is highly suspect. No team in 2022 trades away a starting QB without a viable backup and no first round pick. Its a huge red flag. I don't care who or where or when. Red flag. If you're judging him based on the Taylor Heinicke offense we had around here.... its a huge win. Massive upgrade without trading a first round pick. Wentz will be able to open up the field and teams can't just stack the box and send the house every play waiting for Heinicke to throw the ball up for grabs. How many more wins will that translate to around here is tough though. NFL has so many variables to just say our offense is better so we'll win more games. We thought we improved the defense last season and it completely imploded.
  3. Taylor and Hines both had 40 receptions last season. Hines is one of the best pass-catching backs in the league. They also count as pass-catchers.
  4. Mainstays on a 6-8 win team not going anywhere.
  5. Despite this being a weak QB class I absolutely expect us to be picking the 3rd or 4th QB off the board at #11. DET/HOU/NYG/CAR/ATL/SEA could all go QB while NO/TB/PIT could trade up for one in the draft. It might be rough getting our guy or require a trade up.
  6. Dinwiddie looks great when he has legs. When he's banged up he's a complete non-factor.
  7. Don't really see one but here is the court brief: https://www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/19/19-168/118198/20191004151558181_19-168BriefInOpposition.pd They claimed the marketing was illegal: Personally I don't really get it but don't really know the laws here on marketing a gun to the public.
  8. If the better player wasn't a QB then what difference does it make? Drafting a team of MLB's that can't play MLB isn't getting us anywhere. Nor is having a defense of first round picks that can't stop anyone.
  9. Drafting Haskins did not set us back. Swing and a miss. Not drafting a QB in the following 2 drafts is what set us back. Draft a QB, and draft one again in 2023 if they're better. ****, draft 2 QBs in 2023 if there's going to be so much talent. Remember that the best QB we've seen in this franchise in decades was Cousins and we drafted him after trading the farm for RG3 which made no sense at the time.
  10. Uh, no. Trading a 2nd+ for Garoppolo and giving him a 5+ year 150mil he'll be seeking is absurd. I wasn't referring to you. You just chimed in. 😉
  11. If you remember 2019 obviously that's ridiculous. The 49ers blew out the Packers while Garoppolo threw the ball 8 times the entire game. However, its equally ridiculous if you're judging those QBs on one game's box score with severe weather.
  12. Bad? In Single-digit temperatures and the snow? I find it weird you or others keep discussing that game without mentioning the weather. As if the 13-10 score was totally normal and had nothing to do with it. In normal weather the 49ers start the game with a 50+ yard TD to Kittle that Garoppolo put right in his hands. Some of the strongest hands in the game.
  13. No way. 30+ mil a year stopgap. (and a 5+ year deal) Garoppolo isn't going anywhere to take a pay-cut after leading a team possibly to the SB. And it'll take at least a 2nd rounder just to be able to pay him that big contract. (49ers will certainly ask for a 1st)
  14. Wow. Cupp with single coverage on the biggest plays of the game. TOASTED those DBs.
  15. These were better though: Why they gotta disco these?
  16. It was single digit temperatures and nuking snow. Not exactly a normal game to compare offense/defense/scoring/etc.
  17. Why didn't he give it to Henry on 3rd down? Huge mistake.
  18. Do the Bengals even have a center? How is he not seeing these missmatches?
  19. GM picks the coaches/players. Coaches coach the players. Danny Boy still trying to be Jerry Jones.
