  1. The jobs are on "pause" but how long can that really last? I'm also a bit wary of the SBA loan. I don't trust that it's being handled by the banks. I don't trust that somewhere down the line that the banks won't come calling for that to be repaid, some how, some way. This probably isn't possible but 6 months ago no one would have thought that the current situation we're in would be possible....but they should just not collect taxes (gasp, I know) for the next 6-8 months. Easy to legislate, easy to do...the government wouldn't have to do anything, they wouldn't have to work with the banks, there wouldn't have to be any oversight on whether or not businesses have used 75% of the money given for payroll. There wouldn't be a massive backlog of paperwork to dig through. Businesses and employees would just simply keep the money they have.
  2. There's regular white/grey squirrels, too. They chase the black squirrels around and harass them. It got pretty nasty yesterday. I try to make sure that grey squirrels don't get the peanuts but they're pretty aggressive.
  3. Well, no more shooting models or sporting events... So it's come down to this, taking some photos of the wildlife in my girlfriend's back yard. Here's some from yesterday: I've also been trying to see if I can get a squirrel to take a peanut out of my hand. Got pretty close yesterday. Say hello to my new friend:
  4. I never got into it. And then when I started to try and watch it, I heard how bad it ended. Didn't hear the details about why it was so bad but I wasn't about to commit to something for that amount of time for a bad ending. Already did that with Dexter.
  5. Ahh, RIP Linda Tripp. Hearkens back to a time where the worst thing in the world was a President getting a hummer from a staffer.
  6. I agree with this. As soon as someone comes up with a vaccine, or more likely, a treatment that everyone can agree on, people are going to go back out and put themselves at risk.
  7. Hospitals say feds are seizing masks and other coronavirus supplies without a word https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2020-04-07/hospitals-washington-seize-coronavirus-supplies
  8. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-07/michael-burry-slams-virus-lockdowns-in-controversial-tweetstorm This guy is gunning for a meeting with Trump, I'd say.
  9. This guy is a bit obnoxious but he starts playing the game around 17 minutes so you can see how quickly the game can move along. He's got it streamlined a bit faster than I do, I've got it so that I'm controlling whether or not batters are taking or swinging away.
  10. Yeah. I've got my lineups mostly saved for matchups vs. lefties and righties so filling out the order doesn't take that much time. And then in game, it moves along pretty quickly.
  11. You don't button mash and try to time your swing, control your fielders, run the base and all that stuff, but you manage the game. Fill out the lineups, manage your pitching staff, manage the game from a managers perspective. The graphics aren't amazing but there's a game to watch. You control whether your batter takes a pitch or swings away, but whether or not they make contact is up to the ratings. Stealing bases, hit and run, run and hit, double steals. Manage the bullpen, manage the matchups. So you play the game but there's no button mashing. Each game takes about 15-20 minutes. Didn't think I'd like it more than The Show but I'm absolutely hooked. It's more about managing your franchise, developing your minor leaguers, making trades, free agent acquisitions, drafting, etc. In 3 days on my sim, Trey Mancini will be back from the IL and I will do what my Orioles will not do...which is DFA Chris Davis. I might even crack a beer.
  12. https://www.kcrw.com/categories/the-cool-quarantine 4 hour Henry Rollins show. Planning on listening tomorrow. Should be solid.
  13. That does look appealing. I got a really cushy pair. The science behind them makes sense, people seem to rave about them so we'll see.
  14. Yeah, just ordered a pair of Altras.
  15. Any of you savages have any experience with zero drop running shoes?
  16. You guys should be playing the crack that's Out Of the Park Baseball. I'm kinda sorry I picked up The Show.
  17. Netflix looks like they put the Lethal Weapon movies up. That South African girl in the 2nd one has always been a favorite...
  18. I don't give a ****, I liked Timothy Dalton's Bond movies. Also agree that Brosnan was fine but had terrible scripts.
  19. 1.65 for gas at the corner market here. It's a cruel trick, gas prices are plummeting and we can't really go anywhere. I did go for a drive yesterday evening though, just to get out. Didn't stop anywhere, didn't see anyone. Just about 30 minutes in the car on some country roads. Felt good to get out and drive.
  20. I've got a friend who's a nurse out in our area, she says she thinks this came through our area in January. She works in the ICU. Told me that they had a bunch of people come through that were sicker than **** but none of them tested positive for the flu. No one could figure out what it was.
  21. Curious to see what changes are permanently made after this is over. I believe this will be one of them.
  22. For me, the routine of making a list the night before with all the stuff I have to do the next day helps. There's a small satisfaction in crossing things off throughout the day and crumpling up the list at the end of the day. I use a post-it note, if I need more than one then that usually means there's too much **** to do and I need to re-prioritize everything.
  23. Great, Top Gun 2 has been pushed back to Christmas. Was hoping they'd release it on iTunes in June. Quite possibly the most senior sentence ever written
