  1. LeBron signs with Wizards --> 2019 NBA Champions --> LeBron sends Trump a 45 jersey with 'U Bum' on the back
  2. "The Door" confirmed time travel. Never realized how many people hate that and are essentially in denial about it. GRRM told D&D about Hodor's origin and still on Reddit half of the people insist it will be different in the books.
  3. I loved Hardhome, probably because the books aren't there yet. The very end, with the NIght's King raising the dead and staring at Jon Snow's boat slowly drifting away.
  4. Have to start the list with Bannon if we're talking chemical goo. He looks like he was defrosted in a microwave. Probably one of Kellyanne's spy microwaves
  5. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/03/paul-manafort-american-hustler/550925/ Long article but worth reading. Manafort probably expects a pardon. Sheriff Joe got one after all and he might be the only person in Trumpland who's more disgusting than Manafort.
  6. It would be nice if people would stop pretending that the 2nd Amendment has always been interpreted as an individual right. It wasn't until 2001 federally (and 2008 for the Supreme Court). @Predicto explained the history of this after one of our previous mass shootings. Who knows which one? It's hard to keep track. Until then, only the collective right had been endorsed by the courts. Essentially what @stevemcqueen1 has been discussing in the thread recently. People debate this issue passionately while being too lazy to understand even the basic history of it.
  7. You are the most boring troll on ES. Find a mentor under a bridge somewhere.
  8. Carter Page is completely ridiculous. Even for "Stupid Watergate" he manages to stand out. He testified in front of the House Intelligence Committee without a lawyer and it went as well as you'd expect. This is the last guy I'd want to highlight or bring into the spotlight if I wanted people to think the Russia investigation was BS.
  9. Don't worry everyone. Your concern is probably just another symptom of "Trump Derangement Syndrome."
  10. He's trash. Jordan couldn't care less about justice. He is nothing more than a Trump henchman. John Boehner called him a "legislative terrorist" and had no issue saying "**** Jordan" on the record to Politico: https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/10/29/john-boehner-trump-house-republican-party-retirement-profile-feature-215741
  11. Glenn Greenwald is the chief of the Bernie Bro tribe. He thinks Clinton lost because the Democrats are not far enough to the left. That plays very well with his merry band of socialists (a group that is smaller than he thinks) and also with mindless Republicans who just like that he bashes Democrats. Maybe I'm in my own bubble here but I have a hard time believing the average American voter thinks that the Dems are too far to the right, whether or not it's true. But if you're like Glenn and believe 100% that "Bernie would have won" then that has to be part of your argument. I think he's completely full of ****.
  12. The committee can't have more than 3 members of the same party. He could have tried to nominate an independent but that wouldn't have made it through the Senate. I think any Republican in the position would have made the same vote so I think the focus on Pai is misguided.
  13. It's a nice evil scheme they have going. Cut taxes on the rich --> blow up the deficit --> oh no, deficit is out of control! Damn Obama! Really sorry about this, but I guess we're going to have to cut SS and Medicare.
  14. Both sides are the same, right? If you voted for Trump and are mad about this, I have no sympathy for you. Play stupid games --> win stupid prizes. I notice a lot of Reddit types want to make this about Ajit Pai because acknowledging that it's simply a party line vote hurts their feelings. For everyone else, this sucks. Vote these people out. Stop supporting a party whose mission is to give MORE POWER AND MONEY TO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED IT LEAST.
  15. The bar is on the ground, can't be lowered. Why even call this a "win?" It's embarrassing. The party has the House, Senate, and presidency and is ready to congratulate itself for getting a bill through Congress. This party, man. It's like the Redskins are playing a high school team, tied at halftime, but they win by a field goal with time expiring. What a great win, Snyder can supply the Bud Light for the White House lawn party this time.
  16. Kushner's entire family is garbage. Jared hates Chris Christie for locking up his father, who completely deserved it. I can't wait to see these ****ing traitors go down.
  17. So why don't they believe the accusations? I doubt they have a problem believing that Harvey Weinstein is a rapist. Seems to me they simply don't want it to be true, and that their conviction to vote Republican is stronger than their dislike of pedophiles. Why not just admit it, everyone already sees through the BS. Mormons are always the butt of the joke when it comes to Christianity but I'm respecting them more and more these days. When Mormons say they won't support immoral candidates, they actually mean it. Their views are sincere. I don't agree with any of those views, but I appreciate the honesty. Evangelical Christianity is declining in this country for many reasons but I think a big part of it is that nobody is buying that these beliefs are sincere anymore. We have all seen the polls - from WaPo - "In just five years, white evangelicals have become much more likely to say a person who commits an “immoral” act can behave ethically in a public role. In 2011, just 30 percent of these evangelicals said this, but that number has more than doubled to 72 percent in a recent survey." This hasn't been the case for Mormons. A good, quick article: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/11/one-blasphemers-new-admiration-for-mormons/545735/
  18. Nobody involved with this administration should even mention the concept of hell. If hell exists, their trip there is TSA pre-approved.
  19. The potential repeal of the estate tax is the part you'd think our "economically anxious" low-income Trump voters would be upset about. Estate value of up to $5.5 million is exempt. In other words, your estate needs to be worth at least $5.5 million before the estate tax is even a consideration, and there are additional deductions and credits beyond that. You don't need to understand the ins and outs of itemization, above the line vs below the line, deductions vs credits, or really anything about taxes to see how this is a direct giveaway to the wealthiest 0.1% of the population at the expense of everyone else. This is a difficult subject because the % of people who understand US taxation is incredibly low. I'm not an expert either but it's full Picard facepalm when I see things like "I wouldn't want to make more money because then I'd be in a higher tax bracket." And that's actually straightforward. Heads begin to explode when I say that the mortgage interest deduction disproportionately benefits the rich and it should be eliminated.
  20. I think part of the "both sides" thing is mental laziness. It takes effort to truly understand an issue, and most issues are more complex than they seem. It takes zero effort to just throw up your hands in disgust and say 'both sides.' You don't actually have to know anything to assert that, and in my experience the people who consistently cry 'both sides' tend to, well, not know anything.
  21. http://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a12484953/who-is-roy-moore/ **** everyone who voted for this guy.
