  1. Trump supporters were blamed and even Trump himself. Don't remember who said it but after the report of the attack, some celebrity tweeted that red MAGA hats are now the white hoods of the modern era. I'd say that qualifies as a rush to judgement.
  2. I read somewhere that the cops found out the two guys took an Uber from the area of the attack, then got a cab after they got dropped off by the first Uber driver, and continued to their destination..almost like trying to cover their tracks. The Uber and cab may have been detected on the surveillance videos, and then Uber and the cab company contacted to find out who the drivers were, then got a description of the two men from that. I also thought I read that once they determined that the Nigerian brothers were very likely the two guys seen in the video, they were able to get a search warrant to go through their apartment--the brothers were in Nigeria at the time--where they found magazines with pages ripped out (for creating the threatening letter), rope and a recept, I think (which they tracked back to Ace hardware, who could have had an employee remember them buying it), and a bleach bottle. I think the Nigerian brothers were taken into custody at the airport upon landing, so there wasn't any time for them to take care of anything that needed to be taken care of before being questioned.
  3. Circumstantial, but it could be he wanted to catapult his music career... After first notifications that he had been attacked, Taraji P. Henson tweeted her support, then posted his music video and told everyone to download Smollett's song so that it "goes triple platinum"... Several days later, Smollett held a concert which--coincidentally--becomes sold-out after news of the attack. During the concert he calls himself the "gay Tupac," I'm assuming somewhat jokingly but who knows. Smollett also insisted almost immediately to going on TV for an interview...almost as if he wanted to make sure he took advantage of the "publicity" so to speak. As well as, his music video that Henson was promoting immediately after the attack features a black man with a noose swinging behind him...and one of the two Nigerian "attackers" are in the video as well lol... If Smollett's goal was for the attackers to never get caught, then this "attack" would be quite a launching pad for propelling his music career forward. Rapper stands up to a racist, homophobic attack--he constantly says he "fought back" against the noose-carrying racists, so that gives him an air of toughness and credibility, along with a certain position of leadership in the fight against racism and bigotry. And since the two Nigerian brothers left for Nigeria later that same day, it could be said that Smollett was assuring that they wouldn't be around to be questioned or even considered as suspects...especially with "This is MAGA country, n****r" pointing the cops in a wildly different direction than two burly Nigerians.
  4. Everything, basically lol... - Going out walking at 2:00 am in minus-9 degree weather...to buy a sandwich. Even worse, he says he was originally going to Walgreens for food at 2:00 am but they were closed. - Two racists-homophobes out walking at 2:00 am in minus-9 degrees who also happen to be carrying rope and bleach with them... - Two racist-homophobes saying "aren't you the f****t Empire n****r" and "This is MAGA country, n****r" before and after the attack...sounds like something people imagine Trump supporters would say more than something anyone would actually say... - The idea that anyone would claim Chicago of all places is MAGA country.... - The idea that racist-homophobes who want to use violence against gays and blacks would even watch "Empire" to know who Smollett was to begin with lol... - That Smollett kept the rope around his neck for like 45 minutes after the attack...sorry, but I can't imagine any black man anywhere leaving a noose around his neck under any circumstances...that **** is coming off, pronto. - The fact that his manager or agent said they were on the phone with Smollett when the attack occurred and heard everything, yet the guy never called 9-11 while hearing Smollett being attacked... - The fact that he wouldn't hand over his phone or phone records to the police...and when he did they were severely redacted to the point that they were pretty much useless... - The threatening letter that arrived at the Empire set several days earlier for Smollett that said something like "You will die black f*g" in cut-out letters from a magazine looked like some movie cliche' rather than what would actually be sent in real life... - The letter indicates that Smollett was being targeted, which means the attack wasn't random, but if it wasn't random and was indeed targeted, how the hell would they know he would be walking to Subway at 2:00 am that night...
  5. Ah, ok...I was assuming it had been in wide release (never checked lol)...
  6. I dunno, The Blackcoat's Daughter was pretty pro-Satan as well...and was incredibly creepy and (at times) violent.
  7. Phantom Thread After first seeing the trailer, I had zero interest in seeing this movie...thought it was gonna be something like a Victorian period piece love story where the guy is a proper Englishman finding love late in his life with a young woman who shows him how to live blah blah blah....good lort, was I ever wrong lol.... Basically about a famous dress designer who meets a simple woman/waitress in a small town out in the countryside and starts a relationship with her. This movie is superbly acted all around from every angle, has stupendous, often dangerously realistic dialogue between the main three characters, and goes in a direction that's impossible to see coming. I was going "wait....wait....WHAT?!" lol...And since it's directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, that should have tipped me off that it wasn't the type of movie I was expecting from the trailer.
  8. Or that, in terms of season-long health, early byes do nobody any good.
  9. Even Zorn went 6-2 when he first became coach...I think I'd wait at least 16 games before making any grand proclamations about Gregg Williams. That is, if he even gets 16 games.
  10. You Were Never Really Here Joaquin Phoenix was superb. Just superb. The movie itself is rather good, with an ending that you may find yourself googling for an explanation lol...War vet with PTSD makes a living finding missing/kidnapped girls under the law's radar. There are actually two interpretations of the movie which both make sense (one moreso than the other, in my opinion).
  11. Saw Bohemian Rhapsody...not gonna grade it lol. It's entertaining but it's also obviously a less-than-gritty look at the band's career with Mercury. Rami Malek was really good, though, and there were more than enough moments in there where I saw Mercury and not Malek. The ending was damn good, though, on a lot of fronts.
  12. Mary Kay Cabot‏Verified account @MaryKayCabot I'm hearing DC Gregg William will be the interim head coach
  13. By the way, since instigating the one million percent unfair and corrupt salary cap penalty against the Redskins and Cowboys, the Giants are 43-59, with one wildcard birth. Both the Redskins and Cowboys have won the division twice in that timespan.
  14. I gotta go figure out who's #14 on their roster now lol...
  15. Dak's yardage totals per game in 9 of the last 11 games: 176 145 179 102 181 179 170 160 168
  16. Both teams have rarely been in a position to grab a top tier rookie QB without giving up the farm like the Skins and Eagles did...should take advantage of that when you can and when you know you're gonna need one. I mean, which would you rather have...Wentz and Guice or Dak and Zeke? lol...
  17. Cowboys and Giants took RBs instead of QBs with those high picks...probably not the wisest decisions lol
  18. firstrowsports blows, don't bother...even with adblock get a billion tabs opening up instead of popups.
  19. No, it was a QB's pass accuracy percentage per WR...I wish I could remember where I saw it...it may have been through a series of links in articles lol... Ok, I think I may have started here?...This is footballoutsiders.com list of the most accurate QBs in 2017. Cousins is ranked 30th out of 35 QBs in terms of passes that traveled more than 16 yds--which I would assume a good percentage of passes to Doctson traveled over 16 yds in the air...and then it breaks it down per distance thrown on another chart: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2018/deep-ball-project 2nd Edit lol: Ok, I think I found a mention, not sure if this is the same thing but....I guess this guy charts every pass thrown by every QB. "NFL Insider Cian Fahey has been tearing up the Vikings' decision to go after Cousins, calling him a less-creative Case Keenum. Vikings fans, if you're wondering what Cousins would be like....think Keenum but without the creativity. pic.twitter.com/gLRjeYTvaW — Cian Fahey (@Cianaf) February 27, 2018 If you think the Vikings are making a mistake, then you might want to turn this insider's notifications on." 45.1 percent of Josh Doctson's targets were accurate passes. He was the only receiver in the league below 50 percent #Cousins — Cian Fahey (@Cianaf) March 4, 2018
  20. Keep in mind that the "catchable ball" percentage on passes thrown to Doctson last year was something like 45%...he was the only WR in the NFL last season with a "catchable ball' percentage lower than 50%.
  21. Crowder could go to a team with a quality QB and an offensive scheme that's been in place for centuries and just blow up huge. That's more a comment on those teams than it is on Crowder, though. But I'm positive a lot of GMs and coaches are looking at Crowder's possible FA status and already thinking of how they could use his talents.
